Stairs are an odd dimension which makes the bar-style stair gates unsuitable. This one is perfect as can be installed at an angle. Also it doesn’t put pressure on the banister which bar-style stairgates do (causing the banister to be pushed out of position). Got the white one which does attract dirt but oh well, not too noticeable.
