Old energy classification: A+
New energy classification: F
Back when energy labels were first introduced 20 years ago, the rating system was fairly simple. An A for the most energy efficient appliances and F for the lowest. But things got a little more complicated as new, more efficient products started coming out. That’s how we’ve ended up with ratings of A+, A++ and even A+++ in the mix. As appliances got better over time, more and more ended up in the A+ to A+++ category. That made things confusing, since it was harder to tell which appliances actually used less energy. This new change will cut through that confusion. Now appliances will be rated from A to G – nice and easy!

Quality is not that great, but for the price it’s acceptable. Fridge is light, easy to carry as well as compact. Installation is easy… Set it up, adjust the feet, remove the packing tape and wait. Switch it on max after the recommended 2hrs standing time. Wait. Adjust temp to what you need (some guesswork and later tuning required for this). Fill up and use.
Switching the door is a little fiddly. Needs the fridge on its back, just as well no exposed cooling pipes. The new screw holes are partly blocked by insulation, foam and tape. Screws go in ok after this. There’s also a self tapper to move to the other side. The hole for that was easy to find. Getting the screw right was impossible as the hole was already stripped.
Seems to be very quiet.
One thing that surprised me is there isn’t a tray for the bottom. Odd, would be great for fruit and veg otherwise..
I was disappointed that although it has a reduced size bottom shelf it didn’t come with the usual salad box/basket that all fridges do and also despite it saying on the paperwork it should be there, it didn’t come with the plastic hinged cover for the door top shelf which is supposed to be for dairy. Otherwise it is fine when you consider what you paid for it.
Works fine except I had to add washers to the door hinge. The door was too low due to a screw holding the outer casing on being fitted on an angle stopping the hinge sitting flush. The door was catching inside at the bottom when opening and closing. The washers I added to the bottom hinge lifted it into the correct position. This came like this as I didn’t change the side the door opened from. But an easy fix.
