i had a DVD player but the sound quality was poor, check and it looked as if I needed a better quality HDMI cable bought this one and now the sound is fine.
I have this cable connected between my LG Oled 4K 3D tv and my Oppo UDP205 disc player. So far it has given great image transmission on both 3D and 4K UHD also using ARC for sound processing. The plugs are nicely finished anodised aluminium alloy with good support where the cable enters the back of the plug. The cable itself is sheathed in a woven material that give a good feel to the cable, under this there is shielding for rf interference which seems to work as I have quite a lot of other equipment around the cable.
All in all I am very happy with it and would happily get another when required.
This HDMI cable from Silkland is approx 2m and should support up to 8k definitions where available.
It is a reasonably thick cable but flexes well.
Connections on either end are protected with removable plastic caps for transport.
I’ve checked this out on 4k video feed and the apparent quality was fine.
Happy with this.
This is a extremely well made HDMI cable overall with an excellent materials in manufacturing that very nicely provides awesome video quality at 8K @ 60Hz, 4K @ 120Hz which is complaint with the HDMI 2.1 specifications overall and as expected.
Overall this is a 2 meter HDMI 2.1 spec cable with outstanding performance, video enhancements as well as data communications to your devices (ex Desktop/Laptop to 4k Displays, SKY TV, FireStick, Apple streaming devices and the latest gen gaming consoles from Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo).
The build and materials used are of a very high quality and is easy to see as soon as you open the box it comes in and take a look at it closely and you will see gold connections, super robust connections and a very good braided cable making it strong and long lasting and will also be anti bend which means buying this cable will be a long term purchase!
The cable is backwards compatible with older devices that have or use HDMI for output connections, but I also think it will improve the quality by using this 8k cable regardless or much better than older HDMI cables and versions.
The cable 8k superb quality is overall outstanding and even when connecting to the latest 4k gaming consoles it would always connect at the highest supported video connections and refresh rates which is why I have now replaced my older standard HDMI cables from my Xbox Series X to my 4k TV!
Cable supports HDMI 2.1 connections at 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz, along with a blistering 48Gbps network bandwidth, is HDR10 compliant and of course will be backwards compatible for your HDMI connections.
In my opinion there is no need to pay extreme prices for “extreme and “Monster-ous” prices for HDMI cables as I do not believe that a crazy price for a HDMI cable reflects in better quality.
Highly recommend this cable overall. Really impressed at quality/price!
I recently upgraded to this 8K HDMI cable by Silkland, and the difference in my home theatre setup is stark. The 8K resolution with a refresh rate of 60Hz makes for incredibly crisp and vibrant visuals, perfect for the latest blockbusters or high-res gaming. The dynamic HDR support really pops on my setup, bringing a noticeable depth and realism to the image quality. However, it’s not just about visuals; the support for advanced audio formats like DTS:X and Atmos enhances the overall experience significantly. It’s a solid setup for anyone serious about their entertainment, though the cable can feel a bit stiff, which made installation in tight spaces a bit tricky.
No doubt there are a myriad of tests that one might do to prove the worth of this cable. I am afraid I am not that sophisticated. I needed a longer cable for my disc spinner and wanted something with 4K specs and the potential for future proofing. Clearly, this cable may be overkill, in my set up but it was very easy to install and is working very well. I am noticing smoother motion tracking and a brighter more vibrant picture.
It is very reasonably priced, especially when I consider what one might have paid in the past for a good SCART cable (back when they were the state of the art). The build quality is pretty good. The cable braiding seems quite tough and it is not easily going to fray. The plugs are fitted with dust proof transit caps that would need to be removed before use. The plugs are plated with something that resembles gold but I am not sure it is gold. Still for around 12, don’t expect miracles. However, the plugs fit nice and snuggly in the sockets and a good connection seems to have been made. One can also debate the relative merits of plating and the benefits thereof. So may be the designers just know what they are doing, to eek out the best performance from this cable.
There is a very crowded market out there for these types of cables, so it is always worth shopping around and considering what the professional reviewers have to say. However, if you are looking for a decent 8K cable as an alternative to high-end names like QED and Audioquest, for example, then this is a really good option. It works well in my system and I am pleased with the sonic and visual improvements. It is also longer and that means I can put my disc spinner in a more convenient place on the TV stand. If this cable suits your particular needs then it is certainly a sensible buy.
Expensive when compared to some, but as you can see, this is one very robust, well made 8K HDMI cable. Taking it as read that you need this for 8K viewing (8K, 48 Gbps HDMI cables (AKA HDMI 2.1) being the only cables that will display 8K resolution), the big question here of course is whether it is worth the outlay if you own a 4k TV?
Well, my answer would be, unlikely but possibly, especially as some 4K TVs have higher refresh rates which a bit rate of 48 Gbps as found in the 8k cables, can easily support. In summary, too pricey for a full 5 stars, but none the less, an excellent quality, future proof cable.
This cable came in minimal packaging (good) – just a paper/plastic pouch and a couple of twist-on ties.
The braiding on the cable is decent – would have liked slightly more protection/sleeving where the connector ends join the cable – there is some but it’s quite short.
In terms of performance, my set up is based round an AVR running at 4K 50/60Hz and so I can’t test the cable’s 8K capabilities. At 4K though it works very well. It is connected between my AVR and the ARC-enabled HDMI input on my TV. It is just the right length (allowing for the TV swivel). Picture quality is fine and ARC works well.
My cable is stationary and in a non-challenging environment – and it suits that purpose well. If you need to run or use it where it well get tugged/bent/stressed you might want to look at something with a sturdier build.
