Adding this intensive overnight scar gel to my skincare regimen has made a noticeable difference in the appearance of my scars. Its medical-grade silicone formula effectively reduces the visibility of surgical scars, c-section scars, stretch marks, and other skin imperfections. The lightweight texture absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. While it may take time to see significant results, consistent use has proven to be effective in minimizing the appearance of scars. Overall, it’s a reliable treatment option for anyone seeking to improve the texture and tone of their skin.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI wanted to give this gel a good test out before reviewing so waited as long as possible to do so. If you refer to my images, the scar was done about two weeks prior to getting the gel so was relatively fresh. I began using the product every night before bed and the distance between each pic was about 28 days. I have to confess I did miss the odd night when I forgot but for the most part, it was used religiously.

The product says it takes about 2 months for new scars so I still have a while to go but I can see some improvement. Objectively, however, this could happen as a natural process with time as scars do heal and lighten alone but I suspect this product will help speed up the process and promote healing quicker.

The amount of product you get is significant compared to how much you need to use each time. I literally end up squeezing the tube until the gel emerges from the top, then just pat a little on my finger on it to transfer some gel onto my scar. It feels like nothing but spreads a lot and leaves a wet glossy film. I massage it in for a minute or so but the gel doesn’t really absorb into the skin and can leave it feeling slightly greasy.

The before and after pics may help you to see a slight improvement and I am hopeful continued use will only accelerate it further. Please note the red part on the after pic is actually a pimple that I got (of all places) before I needed to take the pic so isn’t related to the scar as such.

So far so good and I am keen to continue using this gel in the hope the results get stronger. 4/5

4.0 out of 5 stars Hopeful to see promising results

I was pleased to be offered this medical grade scar gel through the VINE programme, as I currently have an ugly burn mark on my hand since Christmas. According to the the instructions, newer scars needs eight weeks of continuous treatment. I am only a few weeks into the course, but am applying the gel diligently every night, massaging it in as directed and then covering with a bandage so the gel does not rub off onto sheets or pillowcases. The top of the scar does seem to be fading slightly in colour, so I will continue to use the gel (and it is a gel, not a cream) until the tube is finished and then return and update this review.

The gel is easy to apply, not sticky at all and odourless. I have subtracted one star because it does tend to squelch out of the tube in a large dollop, no matter how carefully and gently I squeeze, which is wasteful and can get messy. There is no way that one tube will last me eight weeks – the recommended length of course for newer scars – and at the current retail price (26 at the time of writing), this could get very expensive, something to consider, depending on the size of the scar you wish to treat.

I had very high hopes as this product claims to be ‘medical grade’ (and I assume from reading the enclosed literature, appropriate for use in hospitals). The silicone gel (and it is a gel, not a cream) definitely feels nice on the skin, the surface of the scar has evened out and has faded slightly around the edges. I will continue to treat the burn every night until the tube is empty. I am not expecting a miracle, as the burn scar is very dark against my pale skin. I hope it will continue to fade in colour so it is less noticeable.
