The wood was great I just used some beeswax spray (just the 1.25 stuff) and it came up wonderful, I wasn’t expecting much for the price but would definitely recommend it and hopefully fill it and buy anothertop marks
If you own between 8 and 12 watches you probably need a box. The smaller box will take cufflinks and tiepins etc. the top transparent plastics so less risk of breakage. By the way if you own eight you need to buy another four to fill it up.
Read that a fair few had some quality issues, luckily mine was made very well and finished ok, I would not like to try making one for the same money! The fasteners and hinges are actually pretty good.
I’m not sure what the wood is, doubt very much it’s walnut and some of the staining is a bit rushed / uneven. Main thing to comment on mine is how exceptionally dry the wood is, possibly down to storage conditions.
After 5 rub ins with beeswax polish it’s much improved, but will probably need another 5 to give a protective sheen as its so dry
This display case made me realize my collection is lacking heavily. It’ll hold a dozen watches, at least as many rings, plus junk slots for tie/lapel pins, parts, and even pocket watches. Can’t beat it for 40 bucks. Smells of rich mahogany
Bought for a Father’s Day present and couldn’t be happier. My dad loves it, the size means he can keep all his watches in it and the drawer gives him space to keep his spare links and bits and pieces. Great gift, great price, great quality. One happy Dad
The wood on the box itself may not be perfect, it has a few scratches on mine. The watch slots themselves are someone small and struggle to fit a 48mm watch of my own but are able to accomplish holding it just barely. Overall, would recommend great for how much you spend on this.
I wasn’t too sure about this at first. Looked a bit cheap in the pics and you always get what you pay for. This is however quite a nice box. Hold lots of jewellery, the lock is nice and the glass isn’t cheap and thin, nice wood and lovely finish. My only concern is the brackets look a bit flimsy but I guess this is where the cheaper price starts to make sense. Well worth what I paid for it tho
