I was having leaks etc with my previous plastic hose pieces that had failing o-rings. I popped these on instead and was so surprised to not even see a single drop leaking from my hose to the pressure washer. Super impressed. They’re solid metal and quality. The claps works so smoothly. Been several weeks now, and they have withstood the weather. No rust or anything. Very impressed.
In this multi-product listing I’m reviewing the 3/4 brass hose connectors.
I’m finding that these work well for me. The male tap connector threads onto my outdoor taps with no issues, and I used new rubber washers to ensure a watertight seal. The female hose connectors are easy to attach to hose, and grip well. I highly recommend you dunk your hose in a mug of hot water for a few minutes before fitting the connector, as it will soften the rubber and make fitting the end connector and achieving a reliable connection MUCH easier.
The latch mechanism that locks the two fittings together is positive and reliable. I’ve lubricated mine with a little silicone grease, and helps keep it super-smooth.
Before switching to brass, I used to use the plastic type of connector, but they always go brittle and break after a while. Brass doesn’t – it’s bomb proof.
Just bought this and fitted it. Major concern is leaks as I use it to water plants on a timer so tap is open all the time. Went on like a dream and no leaks. Long May it last but it looks solid.
Was creating an outside sink area and needing a water feed from the outside tap. I also needed to keep the existing garden hose connection. I suppose you could keep exchanging the connection depending on your needs but this y splitter seems to be able to allow two outputs from the outside tap.
It is quite a weighty splitter being made from brass and all the fittings fit well including the hose connectors.
What I found very useful is that you are able to regulate each output depending on your needs but also switch them off as well.
The shut off system is a ball type and I think this tends to be more reliable. I did not notice any drop in watter pressure when using this splitter but naturally when you are using both sides then there will be a noticeable drop.
For the money I think this is a good deal especially as it is all metal construction.
These are heavy excellent quality connectors.
However they didn’t fit what I wanted them for. But that was my mistake.
So I would check and check again that they are what you need and will fit accordingly.
But there is no doubting the quality and build of these at a good price.
They come boxed for good storage too.
This is a twin pack comprising 2 hose connectors (to go on the end of the hose) and 2 quick connectors which screw onto the tap (either 1/2″ or 3/4″ diameter). In order to quick connector fit into the hose connector you have to pull the outside spring-loaded cover on the hose connector down, push the quick connector into the hole and then release the spring loaded cover – easy once you have done it a few times.
The parts come with all the washers and plastic inserts supplied and fitted, so you are ready to go from the start. The units themselves are very sturdy and made from brass so should not crack under pressure or cold.
9.99 for a pair is very good value for money, and these look like they will last.
These brass hose quick connectors arrived in a sturdy cardboard box.
There are two quick connectors. There is a female connector for fitting to the hose and a ” threaded male connector for fitting to the tap. The male connectors also have ” to ” reducing adaptors if your tap has a ” thread. My outside tap has a ” thread so I didn’t need the adaptor.
The connectors are nicely made in solid brass. This does make them rather heavy but also more durable than the plastic ones.
I’ve had to replace either the ‘O’ ring seal or the whole connector on a regular basis with the plastic ones. It doesn’t seem to matter which brand you buy they always seem to start leaking quite quickly.
This connector has now been in daily use for about three weeks and there are no signs of any leaks. Obviously, over the long term leaks might develop so I’ll update this review if there’s anything to report.
For now, I’m very happy with these connectors. They’re solid and well made of good materials. A single ” brass male tap connector is over 5 at the local DIY/Garden store so at 9.99 for two these are reasonably priced and deserve 5 stars.
I am slowly in the process of upgrading all of my plastic host connectors to metal ones. There are various advantages I feel,
– They grip the hose better
– They tend to leak less around the connector
– They hold together better within the connectors
Additionally, after many uses the plastic (and to some extent the metal ones too) connectors will start to leak. With the metal connectors this is usually fixed by replacing the (cheap) O-ring and then they are as good as new.
These connectors fit well with the sets that I already have. To connect them, usually you need to pull the ring back then push them together, which is slightly different to plastic connectors.
The only thing missing from the sets, is a hose-to-hose connecto
I bought these to replace plastic connectors that had split. These are a very rugged alternative that should last much better. Fitting to a hose is simple and is just a case of sliding in the hose and tightening up the collar to tighten the grip. I am using this to attach a garden spray and a car brush. This makes it easy to swap between thew two. The only issue I have had is that when I remove one of the attachments with the water turned on water flows out of the hose. My old Hozelock connector had a valve in it so that when you removed an attachment the water flow stopped.
This is a quality item and much better than the plastic alternatives. I’m looking forward to a few years use from it.
The Sylken 3/4″ Tap Y Splitter Brass offers a practical solution for efficient garden water management.
It has a substantial, sturdy brass construction and is definitely durable, making it suitable for outdoor use in various weather conditions.
The 2-way design with individually controllable valves allows for control over water flow, enabling users to connect multiple hoses and adjust the flow rate according to their watering needs.
This feature is particularly convenient for me, having one tap and being able to water the front and back areas of the garden simultaneously, pretty easily.
The splitter has a high flow rate, which ensures sufficient water pressure for optimal use without getting lacklustre dribbles of water at either end.
Installation is quick and straightforward, thanks to the universal 3/4″ tap connector, which fits most standard outdoor faucets. The ergonomic design of the splitter also ensures a secure grip for easy attachment and removal.
I do have a small amount of leakage with it however. It may be able to go a bit tighter but expect that there will be some leakage out of the seals.
Way better than the plastic version I had previously though!
Overall, the Sylken 3/4″ Tap Y Splitter Brass is a reliable and practical addition to any garden or outdoor watering system.
Its durable construction, efficient design, and high flow rate make it a great tool for maintaining your garden with minimal effort.
This pack contains four tap connectors – 2 lots of 3/4 inch each with 1/2 inch connectors screwed inside. Also contained are 2 hose quick connectors.
In summary, four connectors have 2 different sizes. Also, each of the four connectors have rubber rings inserted.
All the various connectors are solid brass. For our outdoor taps we needed the wider 3/4 inch fitting, so the inner 1/2 inch tap was removed. Being made of brass, I would expect these to offer a long service life and to resist both rust and corrosion. Based on previous experiences, I am aware thought that if left out over the various seasons, they will eventually crack from the strain that’s put on them.
These ones initially create a good connection with both the tap and hose. No leaks reported.
I have added some lube/grease which will hopefully protect the black rubber o-rings.
Will obviously need to see how they standup over the winter months but for now all good!
I hope you found this review helpful.
I have a hose reel fixed to the wall that is made by a well known leading brand in hoses, reels and attachments etc., have always had a leaky connection from the tap into the hose reel regardless of how many new ‘named brand’ quick release fittings I used. Put one of these connections onto the hose and connected to the hose reel and now all sorted, even better I can pull the hose off the reel while under water pressure and it doesn’t pop off either.
While the 1/2″ and 3/4″ fittings work well on a normal outside tap, they are not a compatible thread with the hose reel itself unfortunately.
All in all, the fittings appear well made. They all fit nice and tight within each other and do also work with the well know big named hose brand.
Solid Brass for Secure Connections: Sylken 4Pcs Hose Fitting Set
I recently needed to replace some worn-out hose fittings, and I opted for the Sylken 4Pcs Brass Hose Fitting Set. Let me tell you, these little guys are built to last! Made from solid brass, they feel far sturdier than the plastic ones I was using before.
The set includes two key pieces: the 1/2″ end quick connectors and the 2-in-1 faucet connectors (available in both 1/2″ and 3/4″ sizes). This covers most standard hose and faucet connections, making it a versatile choice.
Attaching everything was a breeze. The quick connectors have a secure click-on mechanism, and the faucet connectors tightened easily with a wrench (not included). No leaks detected so far, even with regular use.
Speaking of durability, the brass construction gives me peace of mind. They don’t feel flimsy or prone to cracking like plastic fittings, especially when dealing with water pressure. Hopefully, these will hold up for a long time to come.
Now, a minor thing to consider is the price. Being brass, they are a bit more expensive than plastic options. But for the added sturdiness and potential for a longer lifespan, I think it’s worth the investment.
The Lowdown

Overall Sentiment
This Sylken brass hose fitting set is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a secure and long-lasting solution for connecting garden taps, hoses, and sprayers. The high-quality brass build, easy installation, and versatility make it a standout product. If you’re tired of leaky or flimsy plastic hose fittings that have cracked and crazed in the sun and over the winter months, this brass set is a worthwhile, long-term upgrade – Super!
