I enjoyed the book and the movie sticks quite closely to the plot in the book, incorporating some interesting aspects about folklore. Although it has its scary moments, I wouldn’t consider it a full-on horror movie but it has some good plot twists (which readers of the book will be aware of). It’s well filmed and very much in the style of the movies made by the Director’s father (M Night Shyamalan). It also shows some of the stunning scenery in various locations in Ireland, including the area around Connemara. Definitely worth watching.
