in general a good tracker i use it incase i lose my wallet plus my wife can see where i am if need be, a slim small card fits in your wallet well, i use the app find my phone not sure if its the signal or what but quite offtens lags when tracking my wife, she has one as well, for the price and fairly good accuracy 8 out of 10.
This is essentially a cheaper flatter airtag, we’ve used the airtags for a while now and are quite aware of the functionality and efficiency of them so this was going to be a useful comparison of sorts.
Truthfully it is just as simple and easy to use as the aforementioned tags, difference is it is flat and can go into your wallet, the tracking is almost exactly the same concept and works just as effectively in our little trials taking it with me to my appointments.
Pretty much the only reason I have gone for just four stars across the board is that once the battery dies you have to dispose of it, there is no battery changing options, which seems incredibly unhelpful to both the wallet and the environment.
So because of this simple piece of bad design I think it is very good but not perfect and four stars is what it deserves.
VOCOlinc Wallet Tracker is very easy to set up and works really well. The size of the card is similar to two credit cards and easily fits in the wallet. Just turn on the card by pressing the button, open the ‘Find My’ app, then add the card and follow the instructions. As per the instructions, once the battery is dead, you have to replace the card with a new one. Good value for money.
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.
The card itself is of good quality, it’s made from a thick, robust plastic, and has a typical credit card shape. Despite its extra thickness, I was able to fit it into a space in my wallet easily.
Setup was simple and I had managed to complete this within a few minutes. The instructions provided were clear – to add to ‘Find My’, the Vocolinc is designated as an item rather than a device. I had no issues with my phone recognising it. I was also able to play a sound on the card, using the app.
On the sound – it’s a little on the quiet side, especially if in a bag. I struggled to hear it from another room. Another thing of note is that it doesn’t always play the same alert tone, which could get a little confusing.
The signal was fairly good, when I asked the sound to play, it only took a few seconds to start.
As the device will eventually become redundant once the battery fails, it’s nice that you can actually switch it off when not needed – prolonging its life.
I would have liked it if there was some form of keychain for this device, as I personally am more likely to lose my keys than my wallet. I could solve this issue with a card holder, of course, but it would have been nice not to have an extra thing to get.
Overall, a good value tracker.
Really good product for those considering something other than an air tag, and at a much cheaper cost. Works exactly the same through ‘Find My’ – haven’t had to use it in a ‘real’ situation yet, thankfully, but shows in the app with no issues, ability to play alerts on the device and is a very compact credit card size so easily fits in a wallet or purse. Very pleased with this item.
You would be forgiven for thinking this was just a credit card it is so neat and doesn’t appear to even have a button of any sort on it. (There is by the way just hidden)
It is, however, essentially a very flat AirTag clone.
The functionality is completely dictated by the iPhone but the good news is it works great.
The card is turned on by pressing the hidden button behind the logo on the front of the card and using the built-in “Find My” app on your iPhone you simply add this card as a new Item and give it a name, that’s pretty much all there is to it.
Once paired with your phone you can enable notification to alert you when you are out of range of the card, so for example if you have it in you wallet and leave you wallet at home once you are a away from it your phone will alert you to notify you have left it behind. The alerting distance is a bit of a way, so not when you have just left your house, more like you have left your street.
Even when it is out of range of the paired phone as long as it’s near another Apple device it will still be locatable, all very clever stuff.
So functionality aside, the card itself is the same footprint as a standard credit card but it is about twice the thickness.
The battery is not user replaceable so once it is flat you have to dispose of the card, but the manufacturer does state about 3 years battery life.
The speaker which can produce a series of beeps to locate the card when you are near-by is quite shrill so you would be able to locate it within a quiet house, but I’m not sure you would hear it across a busy bar for example.
Overall a very neat and clever device which will help you keep track of important items.
This is a really nice idea and given the price quite good value for money. However ultimately they’re trying to compete with a brand that is well known for just doing things very well which means this is unlikely to be a replacement for an AirTag.
It’s physical form is very thin And how they get that level of power for three years is astonishing so well done and kudos to the developers. However, although an AirTag requires a new battery every year you don’t need to replace the physical unit every three years and although it has a larger thicker form factor, therefore it can’t necessarily go into your wallet. For example, it can be clipped onto any number of items Which I think makes an AirTag more usable than this.
Ita a good product but think it would be a lot better if it supported all phones. It is slightly bulky compared to cards so wouldn’t be great in a card holder. Price seems a little high but I guess that’s because of the materials used
This is a great little tracker for those that always misplace their wallet or just want that peace of mind that they know they can find their wallet if it gets lost or misplaced.
This is a great alternative to using an air tag in your wallet which is too bulky.
This card uses most of the same features an air tag does. The only thing it wont do is precision finding which seems to be a technology only air tags can use.
Other than the precision finding when your near the device, it acts in exactly the same way an air tag would.
When in range of the device, you can set off an alert tone to locate your wallet. The alert tone is far louder and clearer than an air tag which makes it easier to find in noisy environments.
The card thickness is about 2 credit cards thick. You can see a comparison in my images attached with my normal bank card on top of the tracker card.
The battery is suppose to last 3 years, which is 2 years longer than other credit card trackers I’ve seen on the market. Whether it holds up to 3 years is yet to be seen but it would be great if it does. Especially as you cant change the battery and have to buy a new one.
If the battery lasts as long as it says, I will certainly be buying a replacement when it does eventually die.
Buying a new one every 3 years is much better value for money than having to buy one every year like the other credit card trackers on the market.
Maybe one day we will see technology evolve to be able to wireless charge them or be able to plug them in to charge the battery’s.
