This is a really nice jigsaw to use. The pieces are well-cut and don’t tear easily; they fit together neatly. The picture is nice and clear and there is plenty of variation in the colours to make it challenging yet not too much to take away the enjoyment. I would recommend this jigsaw to others.
Me and family love going to whitby, so nice that there is a jigsaw with it on.
Busy picture with lots going on.
Nicely compact in small box making it easier to store.
Full size poster included.
Pieces are made well.
This puzzle is a decent size for 9.99
The pieces are sturdy and do not feel flimsy. They slot together nicely.
The picture is clear and great clearness. Nice scene to make.
The box it comes in, is small.
But we have a puzzle mat so kept it on that while we made it.
The ‘Mousehole Harbour Jigsaw Puzzles for Adults 1000 Pieces’ arrived in a printed box that also contained a picture to the same scale as the pieces to aid assembly.
The pieces arrive in a sealed bag, though it would be nice if a resealable bag were included for when the puzzle is returned to the box.
The pieces are a good fit to each other so there is no need to force them together; if they don’t fit easily then they are the wrong pieces. All the pieces are lettered on the back to aid assembly for those that may need it.
The one big issue with this jigsaw is the box, and this seems to quite common, and that is the box would benefit from being slightly larger, making it easier to get the pieces of a disassembled jigsaw back in the box.
My wife loves jigsaws, and since we live in Cornwall this 1000-piece puzzle of Mousehole was one she had to try.
She normally takes a day to finish a 1000 piece set, but this is quite challenging, due to the detailed sections and areas with very similar looking water or sky, which makes it both engaging and rewarding. She think this will take a day and a half.
If you enjoy jigsaws, its a perfect way to spend some quality time, especially if you enjoy a good challenge. We were initially puzzled (forgive the pun) by the letters on the back, but these are intended as an aid to help anybody struggling, so you can get some hints if really needed.
Until recently, I hadn’t done a jigsaw for 60 years(!), and resisted joining all my friends in taking up jigsaws during the pandemic as I thought they were a bit pointless and time-wasting. How wrong could I be! For us oldies, jigsaw puzzles improve memory and thought processes, and are also therapeutic and relaxing. I was rather disappointed to see with this one that the pieces are coded ABCD, to make the puzzle easier, although I guess you could keep the pieces turned up the right way and not look at the numbers on the back.
It’s good to see that the jigsaw is made from 100% recycled paper. I was going to keep it for myself but I’m too busy doing outdoor things at this time of year, so it has made a perfect birthday present for a friend who hails from that part of North Yorkshire. He has reported that the pieces are cleanly cut and a decent thickness, and the printing is good quality. At 10 for 1000 pieces, I would definitely recommend this puzzle.
Whitby Jigsaw Puzzles
The puzzle is 1000 pieces and has a nice harbour & abbey scene in Whitby. Some boring sky but not too much
Some key differences from normal jigsaws
– the box is really compact (25*20cm) and hence full – so you will need to tip the pieces out to rifle through them
– you get a full size fold-out poster which helps compensate for the small box lid photo
– back of the puzzles have letters, so you can narrow down the section (A-D) – potentially you could do it as 4 smaller puzzles and join together, otherwise allows a range of abilities to have a go
Overall – high quality
Whitby in North Yorkshire is one of my all time favourite places so I just had to give this jigsaw puzzle a go!
The image itself is beautiful with a scene that any visitor to Whitby would recognise, with the harbour and te the beautiful Whitby Abbey up on the clifftop.
The jigsaw itself is a good one to do. Really focuses the mind as you try to work out which piece goes where, and the quality of the pieces is good (not the type of cheap jigsaw that comes apart or gets soggy!)
A good few hours work to put it all together and I’m going to do the same again in the future as this is a lot of fun bringing a beautiful Whitby scene to life
Recommended whether you like Whitby or not!
