This was far easier to set up than I thought it would be. It has been installed now for several weeks, and I have not had to adjust anything since. Every time I get into my car, my phone (Galaxy S24 Ultra) connects automatically within seconds to Android Auto.

It means I can now leave my phone better protected in my pocket, and not have trailing wires anywhere.

The downside is that the phone will get hotter and the battery life will suffer a bit. But that’s not the fault of this device, it’s the nature of streaming wirelessly for long periods. So on really long journeys I will connect via a cable. Also, I park my car near a window where my home router is. So for a few minutes on arrival back home, my phone keeps bouncing from my car and my router! But this only lasts a couple of minutes. So make sure the USB port in your car is one which turns off after a set time.

Overall though this device performs flawlessly, and it was the cheapest one on Amazon!

Firstly. I got a really good deal on this. With a discount I got it for just over a tenner.

I have a 21 plate Skoda with wired CarPlay so I thought I would give this a try.

It connects really quickly and I was up and running in a minute. It connects from the adapter with a usb c to a usb c in my car.

The adapter is tiny, it’s great.

The only issue I found is when i try to play music from Apple Music no music comes from the car speakers. I have to go onto my phone and make sure the output speaker is set to CarPlay as it auto defaults to the Bluetooth of my Skoda. This is why one star off as it’s abit of a pain having to do that every time I get in the car.

Now I can put my phone away out of sight in the car which is great.

Great value and happy with the quality. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get wireless Apple CarPlay in their car.

So I was sceptical when I saw the packaging as it comes one of the letting boxes you get from a souvenir store. However the devices is very small the size of say half a credit card.
I followed the connection advice and deleted the phone from my car (Audi S5) and from my phone, as well from the CarPlay menu on my phone. As soon as I plugged it in the car recognised it as a CarPlay device however I resisted the temptation to confirm it on my car. I went through connecting via Bluetooth to the phone and then on the car for CarPlay and then on the phone for permission on CarPlay permissions.
The dongle waited for the phone to recognise the CarPlay permission and you get a Chinese message while it’s thinking about it. CarPlay popped up a few seconds later. I used the small usb to usb c, connected which is a neater solution if you want to keep the dongle in the armrest space. The only gripe I can see is that it seems as the device draws power and keeps connected to the phone even if the car is switched off so .. you may need to switch off BT if your on the vicinity of your car but not sitting in it. Which in my opinion is not a major problem – overall as it was on a deal for 20 quid can’t go wrong !!

It was 20 so wasn’t expecting it to work to be honest. I have a none oem sony xav radio in my car and it works flawlessly. Read the sticky warning label on the gadget before install.
    Bargain.

Plugged in and connected quickly enough. Works well every time I have started the car up since installing. Bargain too for the price. Ideal size too, much better than having my phone loose in the car.

    Thanks

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI took a chance on this wireless Android Auto adapter for no other reason than it was considerably cheaper than competitors, and being Prime I was reassured I could return it should it not work out.

Initial impressions, it exceeded. It comes in a well packaged box with a number of short USB cables (type A to C, C to C and a USB A to C adapter).

There’s a small sticker on the device advising to disconnect the phone Bluetooth from the car before setting up, I didn’t like the sound of that so I ignored it. I also decided to ignore the instructions which came with it.

I plugged this device in to one of 2 USB sockets in the car designed for use with Android Auto within the centre armrest, where it will stay out of sight, a light pulse’s on the device. I then searched for Bluetooth devices on my phone, and paired it immediately with no issues. I switched on the car and it immediately displayed Android Auto, wirelessly!

Wireless Android Auto is responsive on this device, maps, music playback and other functionality works without lag and there were no dropped connections during my initial use. I later configured Android Auto to not connect automatically, to let me decide using the phone rather than connecting immediately upon starting my car.

It’s early days but the positive experience prompted me to leave an early review. I will update should I experience anything worth mentioning at a later date.

If you like me you buy a brand new car but need to plug in to use Apple Play or Android Auto, this product will allow you to get in your car and automatically without plugging your phone into use.
    Is discreet and small.
I have had it for a month now and no problem.

    Updated:
I have been sent a new unit to try out and it must have been my phone at issue as this time it all works perfectly. I’ve changed my phone to an Android 13 phone whereas my previous phone was Android 10, I have read Android 11 is minimum for wireless Android Auto, but all is good now.

    Original Review:
I really wanted to like this and when it’s working it was just what I needed. BUT every journey, even sometimes twice. my VW head unit would crash and reboot itself. Using a wired connection Android Auto works fine so it’s definitely an issue with the wireless unit. Unfortunately I’ll have to return it.
