Compact dual socket 12v power supply that is not that dissimilar in size to a normal 2 socket mains adapter. Works well and could provided 100w charge to my laptop but it is limited on its power output, for example tying to use normal household kettle puts it over the 200w power draw when switched on, probably would work fine with a smaller travel kettle but does already have a 12v connector.

The USB ports are a handy addition for older cars which don’t have USB ports for charging, but again depending on power draw from your devices.

200w Car Inverter Charger. It has 2x AC Plug Sockets, 2x USB 2.4A Ports and 2x USB 3.0 Ports. It can be powered by either a 12V cigarette lighter or battery and is a useful addition to any car or van due to its versatility.

The build quality is reasonable and the ABS plastic feels solid and robust. It’s flame retardant and the adapter has high voltage protection to ensure that this unit and your devices aren’t damaged. I’ve been using it in my work van to charge my phones and tablet and its worked really well. It’s reasonably priced, similar to other inverters on the market and the biggest selling point in my opinion is the USB ports, though i would have preferred a USB C port too.

This is a clever compact device that can convert a vehicles 12volt cigarette socket into a domestic voltage.
It comes in a printed retail package with instructions and warnings about suitable use.
It has a 75cm (2ft+) lead from the cigarette lighter plug to the unit itself.
There is a simple on off switch on the bottom and a digital display showing the DC voltage in real time.
I have a touring caravan and this device is going to save me having to buy a caravan specific TV or petrol generator (Which are not at all cheap!) with this device I can use the small TV from one of our bedrooms even when we are at a rally site where no electrical hook up is available.
Our van has a 240volt system that we normally plug into the mains socket provided on the pitch when we are on holiday.
However we like to attend the occasional rally where there will be a temporary comp site for a music festival or show, when this happens we have a 12 volt lighting system in the van that works perfectly well.
The fridge, cooker and barbecue all run on gas on these occasions so I am pretty much sorted!
However my partner HAS to sit and watch Emmerdale Farm & Coronation street no matter what!
She even avoids going abroad if it means she misses her fix, hence why we bought a caravan!
Thankfully Swift install a cigarette socket above the 3 pin plug socket in the panel behind the TV!
The leisure battery is topped up by a solar panel on the roof so she can indulge herself all week without me worrying that she is going to run it completely flat!
This device has two sockets although it would have been fine if it had just one.
The problem with this is that it can only support a maximum of 200 watts use, which isn’t much!
When the 21″ TV is plugged in we cannot have anything else using this at the same time!
It is perfect for a small TV or laptop that doesn’t have a 12volt DC option to power it.
This would also be fine with low wattage LED light strings which we have a few of and are amazing how much light they provide for under 30watts total.
This also has 4 x USB sockets which can fast charge your phone, tablet, laptop or fans!
The negatives are that the small rocker switch on the bottom will turn the whole thing off if it is used upright and pushed backwards even just 1cm, equally if it were pulled forwards it would power it on!
So this has to be used on its back and not as it is shown in the listing, apart from the aesthetics using it this way also keeps all of the ventilation holes clear so it can keep cool.
You cannot use ANY high draw item like a kettle or a hairdryer or lawnmower (I know that’s random but my partner asked!) because they wont work and they could cause damage to your vehicle!
This was very reasonably priced at the time of review!

    Happy to help!

Very compact Inverter for ‘just-in-case’ 13 amp Plug use and convenient USB charging.

The low power rating of the unit means care is needed over what you plug into it, but it has enough power for lamps, radios, some TVs, and most ‘mains’ chargers for other portable appliances. For automotive use it can power soldering irons, compressors (though most car compressors and vacuum cleaners etc come with a 12v lighter socket plug anyway).

The 2 fast-charging USB sockets are a big plus for newer devices and may be the most used feature (though much more compact units are available just for usb charging).

In use the inverter has a small and inconveniently exposed on- off rocker switch on the side that is easily knocked.

The instruction manual is not very well written and quite off-putting with its list of exclusions, telling us for example that the power requirement of appliances is “higher than the rated power when power them”,(sic) and “Even if the rated power of the appliance is 45W, its maximum owner may exceed 200W. Please make sure that the inverter will not be used in this case”. But how, exactly?

As it is, this unit would best suit electrically literate users who know which appliances have inductive internals.

I obtained this item to carry as an emergency back-up for use in our camper van.
The option to have a 240v supply “just in case” is very appealing to me.
The construction and manufacture of the unit looks to be of good quality.
A brief test in the family car whilst charging phones, power banks and portable fans was successful.
I intend to give it a thorough test on our upcoming vacation where I will try it out on our low wattage travel kettle and travel hair dryer.
I will update my review after our trip.

This converter allows you to take your 3pin devices and use it in your car, which is a very convenient piece of kit. It also comes with USB port on the side, which you can have this plugged in permanently and use it as extension in car or van. The converter is very well-made and works as expected.

I have had a few of these over the years and they are handy devices to keep in the car and particularly useful when away or on holiday. While most of our modern tech now uses USB to charge and power itself, some things can’t be used that way and so it is handy to have a DC to AC converter for those times.

Overall this does what it sets to, that is, power SOME mains devices fitted with a UK 3 pin plug. But you have to watch the power/wattage of the items. This unity claims to have a maximum 200watt load, so look at the wattage of the appliance you intend to use with this inverter, before plugging it in. The instructions claim to cut out automatically if overloaded. I haven’t put that to the test, but if so, that’s a plus point.

For anyone unfamiliar with these units, you simply plug the cigar end plug into the cigar/power socket of your car/caravan/boat and this unit then converts DC power into AC power, allowing use of mains electric appliances. You should be able to power small portable TV’s, radios etc. This unit will struggle if you try to plug in a kettle or hair dryer, unless they use less than 200 watts maximum.

The unit itself is plastic – claimed ABS plastic in the ad. It doesn’t feel like it but it seems ok. The ad also refers to a ‘robust metal housing’, which is not the case externally. Maybe it is under the plastic.

Another bit of confusion is whether this unit can be used with 24v DC. The ads says it will not, but the instruction manual says it can be, so that needs to be sorted. The manual itself isn’t in the clearest English but seems to suggest you don’t have the inverter plugged into your car or, anything plugged into it, when you either start or turn off your engine, for fear of damage to the inverter and any attached appliances.

To be fair, for the price, this is a decent bit of kit. You have 2 UK 3 pin sockets and 4 USB sockets to choose from, and from what I can tell of it, the unit does what it says it will. Whether it will last only time will tell. But at just under 27 at time of writing, it is one off the cheapest but most feature packed inverters on Amazon, so it’s definately worth a punt.
