If you are looking to make sure something won’t fall of something else such as attaching boxes to a pallet for shipping or to attach something to the roof rack of your car, these will do the job.
You get 2 ratchet straps at 6m each which is long enough to go around quite a big box. To use, you simply wrap it around and then pull the ratchet back and forth tightening the strap. The ratchet mechanism works well and is very easy to use.
They are 1 inch thick so they are quite strong however I probably wouldn’t trust them to hold anything very heavy for long periods of time. Overall though, for the price I think they are very good and I would recommend them.
These straps use a ratchet mechanism to be able to shorten from their 5.9m fully-extended length down as required, with up to around 114cm wound into the ratchet. This doesn’t mean that it can only reduce by 114cm, rather that you can ratchet it down by that much; you thread all the slack straight through the slotted winder and out the other side before ratcheting it tight, it doesn’t all end up on the winder.
Rather than the hook-each-end type, these ones are designed to wrap around something, for example to strap machinery down to a pallet for transport, with the free end then fed through the slot in the winder until there’s no slack, then the handle run back and forth to wind it in.
Of course you could also use it with tie-down eyelets (albeit at half the length) by feeding the strap through one eyelet, over the item being tied down, through the other eyelet and back again, then threading it in as normal and ratcheting up. In a small panel van with tie-down eyelets this is probably how you’d do it, but it’d be worth measuring between eyelets – both across and diagonally – to ensure this is the right strap for you.
If the strap isn’t long enough you can double them up, feeding the strap of one into the ratchet of the other and vice versa, to give yourself a 11.8m double-ratchet.
The nylon strap looks strong, and has a black dashed line along one side so you know which side is up before feeding it into the mechanism. The mechanism also looks robust and strong; your hand is going to give up ratcheting long before the mechanism gives out.
They also come with a drawstring bag – complete with typo – so they can be kept clean and untangled and stashed away until needed.
Good quality ratchet straps are essential for moving anything with weight to it.
This is a set of 2 straps. They are 25mm (1 inch) wide and 6m long. Which is big enough to secure a stack of logs, furniture, or a motorbike on a trailer.
I used these to tie down logs on a trailer and they worked a treat. The ratchet mechanism works well and are solid. They held securely and released easily when needed.
Good quality and value. Recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful
Decent ratchet straps that work well and are of fairly decent quality.
The mechanism works well and doesn’t fall apart like others I’ve tried, not the most premium but more than acceptable for the price point.
The actual straps seem decent and look like they’ll hold up.
I used these to strap down my gazebo, they held well in 20mph wind with no ratchet slip.
Fine for every day use.
