Contrary to what others have said we really loved this film. It has tension, amazing affects and sadness. This should not be compared to the first film, that was revolutionary. Hope they make another A Quiet Place. Highly recommended.

I watched this film with my two teenagers tonight, we all enjoyed. Really good acting. We enjoyed the first two quiet place movies, this one was a bit slower but that almost adds to the suspense. You feel a connection with the characters in this film. Different to the first two films but definitely worth a watch.

What a joy to find a cinema film that proves you can bring it in at a comfortable 95 mins instead of a bum numbing 144 (the latest Planet of the Apes film). Starting as it means to go on this is an energetic roller coaster of a ride through alien invasion territory (You know – the ones who listen for sound and then kill you). Well acted by the 2 principals and the cat, the CGI effects are spot on (the sound is good too)and i really could get both characters (and the cat who survives the most incredible mishaps). I suppose I should just mention a remark my wife made half way through – “are we going to get the Walking Dead next” – We don’t! No swearing, definitley no sex but still a 15 cert. Perhaps not for the very young, but what do I know? Good subtitles.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usersis a 2024 American apocalyptic horror film written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on a story he conceived with John Krasinski. It is the third instalment in the A Quiet Place film series, serving as a spin-off and prequel. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o as a terminally ill woman during the early stages of an invasion in New York City by extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing. The supporting cast includes Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou, who reprises his role from A Quiet Place Part II.

Development on A Quiet Place: Day One began in November 2020, with Jeff Nichols set to write and direct. Despite a completed script, Nichols dropped out of the film in October 2021. In January 2022, Sarnoski was announced to replace Nichols as writer and director; he was approached by Krasinski because of his feature directorial debut Pig (2021). Principal photography took place from February 2023 to April 2023 in London, England. The production reunited Sarnoski with several collaborators from Pig, including Wolff, cinematographer Pat Scola, and composer Alexis Grapsas.

A Quiet Place: Day One premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 26, 2024, and was released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on June 28, 2024. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and has grossed $178.2 million worldwide.

Not a horror, an alien invasion aspect of the Quiet Place franchise with the character’s story at the front and centre but I do feel this world is done unless they do the Military side of the story or show the final days.
