This ALIOBC car cleaning gel (160g pack) is the adult version of the slime toy for children and in the same way, it is extremely efficient at picking up every little bit of dirt from pretty much any solid surface.
Being essentially a viscous fluid, you just put a ball of it on the surface that you want to clean – a keyboard, ventilation grille, top of a camera and so on – and press it into the nooks and crannies, whereupon it grabs hold of much if not all of the interstitial dirt (and other objects) that it comes into contact with. Being viscous, when you pull it, it comes out in one piece, along with all of the dirt.
After you have removed it and recovered anything that you were especially attached to such as small pieces of jewellery or electronics such as TF cards, just roll it up so that you have a new surface and continue with the next area.
Apart from the obvious fun aspect of using this stuff, it is very good at its job.
This is my first time using this cleaning gel and I didn’t expect it to be really useful. It can be used to clean the water cup groove, air vents and dashboard inside the car, and anything with dust can be easily cleaned. It can be used repeatedly until the color turns dark or black, and then replaced with a new one. It has a wide range of applications, in addition to being used inside the car, it can also be used to clean any dusty area such as keyboards and window sills.
I’ve used this on both my keyboard and my car fascia, and it works reasonably well. It has a pleasant mild fruity smell. It is far better to have this supplied in a jar than in a ziplock bag (if you’ve ever tried to put gel back in a bag, you’ll know what I mean). Reasonable value. Four stars rather than five, because it has a tendency to leave the odd tiny fragment behind, which I haven’t found with other gels; I suspect this is because it is a little drier than usual. However, this means it is easier to get it back into the jar, and also you don’t get long sticky strands refusing to leave your fingers after use.
I often find car cleaning gels hit or miss. They can often have very poor adhesive qualities and they often have unpleasant fragrances (either overbearingly perfumed or very chemically smelling). However, this one from ALIOBC has neither of the problems as mentioned above. It has no fragrance and picks up dust pretty well (I found you had to go over the same spot a couple of times, but it did lift everything). I have used this on my MacBook Pro, and it almost looks new again. At the time of review in late June 2024, it is listed at 7.99 with the chance to take a further 20% off thanks to a digital voucher. For the current price, this is good value, and therefore can recommend it to you.
It kind of works – it’s not particularly sticky though. Picks up some dust and small bits of debris but don’t expect everything to magically disappear with it. A useful addition to your car cleaning toolkit but certainly isn’t going to replace anything.
When Hyundai created my vehicle, I am convinced the designers of the interior said “Let’s see if we can make this very hard to clean dust from certain areas” – and yes, they succeeded!
Suffice to say, I’ve found it really hard to get into some of the tighter air vents, slots, and buttons.
This gel from ALIOBC is great. It’s sticky, but not unusably so, and because it’s quite runny it easily gets into all the gaps and slots, and picks up any crud and dust it encounters.
Other similar products I’ve had came in pouches, which are harder to reseal… whereas this one comes in a nice resealable tub.
Great so far, and will continue using throughout summer for the car… not sure if this one has any antibacterial qualities, but from experience after about 6 months these become smelly, or even in one case, grow mould like a petri dish – so I’m hoping this brand is different.
Thumbs-up so far!
This gel is basically a high-tech putty that picks up dust, hair, and other unwanted bits. It’s reusable (until it gets gunky of course), non-toxic and comes in three snazzy colours. Using it is easy – just roll a piece into a ball, press it into dusty crevices, like air vents or pc keyboard for example and slowly pull it out. The gunk magically sticks to the gel, leaving your surfaces sparkling clean. No muss, no fuss. For under 8 this little thing is a steal – it works well on car interiors, electronics, furniture — basically anything. Sure, it’s not a high-tech gadget, but for a quick and easy cleaning solution, its a winner. Just remember to keep it away from water and curious little children. Recommended.
This is just like you have probably seen kids play with, but it has a thicker consistency which makes it just right to get around small spaces and pick the dust and dirt out. It’s ideal for all those little gaps in car ventilation, coin trays, etc. Plus, all the places in the home: keyboard, remote controls, etc.
It’s reusable until it dries out or gets too dirty, so it can last a long time if you keep it in its tub.
I use this on keyboards and car vents, and it does a good job of getting into between the keys and tight spaces in car fans. It’s great for loose items, but it won’t be able to clean everything as well as a cloth and water. However, it’s still worth having on hand to avoid having to take apart keyboards and the like.
