The Electric Cooler Box of 22L | Large Cool Box Powered By 12V In-Car Cigarette Lighter Socket. The cool box is good quality and nice and sturdy. It is a good size and can fit quite a bit in, we took this camping with our daughter and her family and it worked well at keeping milk, cheese butter and other fridge items cool. It is powered by the cigarette lighter socket in the car /van.
Although the cool box works well we think it could have been better if it also had a mains plug so that it could be used in tents ( that can be connected to power points) this way you would have less drain on the car battery.

The Vivo Technologies Vivo Technologies electric cool box arrived simply packed in a plain cardboard box.

In the box you get the main cooler unit, a powered lid with a vehicle 12v DC plug, a passive lid, two ice packs and an instruction manual.

Used in conjunction with the frozen ice packs the cooler does a decent job of keeping drinks and food cool on car journeys although it should be noted that it will attempt to maintain a temperature rather than actually cooling anything down.

Once you reach your destination you can switch to the passive lid for transporting the cool box to your picnic site or similar.

Both lids are not hinged but are held in place by the swivelling carrying handle, a system that works well.

Good value for a decent capacity cool box.

This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.

I was particularly drawn to it, as I often need to store milk (for one of my children’s dietary needs), during holidays.

It is of fairly good quality – the main container is robust, and stands sturdily on any surface. I did feel that the interchangeable lids were a little fiddly, because they don’t ‘click’ into place, nor do they have any clips/levers to release them. That being said, I did like the locking action that the carry handle provided, for the lid, which gives reassurance about the strength of the tub’s seal.

I would say that the power cord is quite short, so you may first want to consider the space you have available in your car (however, this may not be an issue, if you have a 12v socket in the boot). Since I only have a socket in the front of my car, realistically, I can only put the cooler box on my back seats.

To test (with the help of a 12v to mains adapter), I actually used the box to store some of the contents of my fridge, whilst I was having it replaced. I was able to fit a 6 pint bottle of milk inside, and some other, smaller items. The manual recommends using ice packs for the best results, so I also put these inside. For the duration of the box being switched on, everything was kept cold (and fresh – no spoiled items). There was some fan noise, but I wouldn’t say that it was particularly loud.

In summary, a useful and good value item. Recommended.

At time of review this cool box is priced at 45.99
This is a 22L size cool box and has two ice blocks inside
There are two lids.one for putting on to take away from car the other has the power lead for the fan whilst in or near the car van as this requires plugging into the cigarette lighter socket
The fan is quiet and will take some time to really get the box cold..
The lids lock in if you push the handle one way and unlock if pushed the other way
    Strong sturdy box.
    Great for beachcaravan.travelling

I got it mainly as we are driving on those hot days, it’s great to put drinks or sandwiches to keep them cool.
    And it does exactly that.

On top of it, it has secondary standard cover which allows you to use the cooler without connecting to the car.
Although there are only two freezing blocks with this cooler, I tend to keep some cooling blocks which I get with my fresh shopping. And they are perfect for use in this cooler on hot days in the garden, for example.
The provided cooling blocks fit perfectly to create sections in the the cooler and I think I’ll get couple more to ‘build’ an internal walls. More cooling then and more tidy inside.

It is not the cheapest but in the current hot weather it serves me as a cooler in the garden keeping drinks and ice going for at least 3 hrs.

In the car, thanks to the long cable, it sits at the back and does the cooling job well, especially with extra ice packs.
It is my first cooler so I have no comparison with others but I like it.

This is a nice cooler box, which comes with a car socket. I have used this cooler also with an car socket to 3 pin plug adapter and it works equally well. When in use the fan runs constantly and doesn’t appear to have any cutoff at all. It takes a constant 25 Watts when in use, measured through a smart plug. This ought to be considered in relation to car batteries.

The cooler seems to reduce the internal temperature on its own by about 8-12 degrees from outside temperatures, based on several tests I have run. The cooler comes with 2 freezer blocks but I found putting 4 or 5 in there more effective in keeping temperatures cool.

It seems to keep things cool for some time (I have only tried over 4-5 hours at a time) and much more effective than a standard cool box on its own. It does come with an alternative lid to use just as a standard cool box.

One niggle is that when opening and closing the cool box, you have to lift the carry bar, unplug the power supply and then thread the lead to the opposite side. If you don’t you have to trap the lead in between the carry bar and the cooler, which I worry would degrade or damage the cable over time. Overall a nice cooler box that gives more versatility to days out.

I recently picked up the 22 litre cool box for our family outings and it’s been quite impressive. It’s a bit pricey compared to some, but not the most costly out there, and it truly works as advertised. I took it on a camping trip and the cool box kept our drinks and snacks chilled throughout the hot weekend. The freezable ice packs are a brilliant addition, saving on power while effectively keeping the contents cool. Having a power socket of 12V, it’s super convenient for use in most cars.

The design is generally user-friendly with two lids — one with a refrigeration unit and one standard lid for when you just want to use the ice packs. Removing the lid is straightforward, just pull the handle to release the clips. My only small gripe is that it could benefit from having compartments or partitions to better organize food. Despite this, it’s been a valuable addition to our summer adventures.

I have been using this portable electric cooler for my car on road trips.

    Pros:
    * The cooler is very easy to set up and use in the car.
    * It has a good compact capacity that fits plenty of drinks and snacks.

    Cons:
    * The cooler takes a few hours to cool down to the desired temperature.

In conclusion, this portable electric cooler is a convenient addition for car trips, though it requires some patience to reach optimal cooling.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe tested this in our campervan where the internal temperature was around 24 degrees and we tried it empty with no cool/ice blocks in at the time of testing.
With a thermometer, we managed to get it down to 12 degrees anywhere between 30mins to an hour as when we checked later, it didn’t reduce in temperaturem
Obviously with ice blocks (two are included but I would add more to make it last longer) and contents inside, it would reach lower and stay cooler for longer.

Having used an older style one before, we liked the size of this ie being tall it fits bottles in.
Also that you can swap lids.

The only thing we didn’t like was that the plug cable comes out from the top side and it gets in the way of the handle all the time which is really annoying. Ie if you want to open the lid you need to push the handles to one side and vice versa and end up squashing the cable which isn’t ideal over time. Means you have to unplug it to avoid this
It’s in the top because the cool part is just in the lid and not the whole thing like the old style ones.

The body is quite thin and it doesn’t have a warm function either. For the price – it’s fairly average but does the trick.

Suitable for all cars with a 12V power socket, although probably best suited to those with a remote socket in the boot, this big 22 litre cool box is ideal for camping trips, or family days out. It comes with freezable ice packs to assist food cooling, and to minimise power drainage in your vehicle. It is a very useful item to have, especially with summer, and (hopefully), lots of hot weather, and the school holidays starting in a few weeks. It works really well, but I would have liked to see a partition in the box to separate food, or even little compartments that could either be used, or removed to suit needs. It comes with two lids, one with a built-in refrigeration unit, and one standard lid when you want to rely solely on the ice packs to keep the contents chilled. To remove the lid just pull the handle at either side, which releases the plastic securing lugs.
Pricewise, I have seen cheaper cool boxes, but there are also a lot more expensive ones too. I think this one performs well, and is reasonable value for money.
