Had to return the first one as it was defective but this one works and is a ton of fun! Our child really enjoys being in charge of the music and changing the records.

his is a fun concept of a toy that replicates something the parents may have, the four music categories is a great idea, overall a fun toy that has no set up time and an easy gift optio

I was so excited when I saw this new record player, so excited I immediately ordered. I have always been a vinyl lover. I started my collection years before vinyl was once again popular. I’ve been waiting patiently to see if FP would release a new model of the classic record player. The songs are so cute, so much better than the classic. Super up to date. The whole set-up is super cute. The only complaint I have is the volume isn’t quite loud enough. There are several settings but even on the highest level you really need to have the TV off and anything else that may be on to be able to really hear the music well. Especially with it geared towards older toddlers and preschool children, it doesn’t need to be baby soft quiet. I come from a family of music lovers, generations of music lovers. We like volume. Most music lovers/ musicians do. Our play room/den is medium to large. Everything turned off, you can still barely hear it across the room. It’s still well worth $40. Well worth it. The player itself is extremely well made. It’s actually got some weight to it. I do wish there were more “records” available for purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great little record player for kids, the songs are very catchy! To my surprise, my LO loved the mindfulness record! We also have the classic version that you wind up, and the record needle actually plays the songs, so this is definitely more modern. My only complaint is the storage for records – it definitely needs improvement. It’s just a little plastic rack that you stand the records up in. So, needless to say, it doesn’t get used and we therefore have records and their cardboard sleeves laying everywhere. The classic version stored the records right in the record player, which was genius. Not sure why they changed that.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy toddler is obsessed with this record player, I even purchased an extra for his teacher to have at school because it’s super cute. It really teaches kids to be gentle, but it also tolerates the wear and tear of toddlers.

While my little one is too young for this record player, I still had to buy it to hold on until the right time. Fisher Price products are generally excellent, and this one is no exception. I love the concept of being able to play different types of toy records, and allowing your child to use similar steps that they would on a real turntable. Please note, this does not play real records, but it’s pretty adorable and easy for kids to use. It might also plant the seed so your child actually knows what a record is as they grow up because they certainly won’t know what a cassette is. This is a great toy and I think the price is really fair for what you get.

My boy has been really interested in music and instruments. I thought this would be a cute way for him to play his own music. He has had no problem putting the records on and off and the needle set to play them. His favorite is the nursery rhyme record personally, but he has listed to them all. The record player has held up well as he has accidentally dropped it a couple times, but he enjoys taking it in different rooms when he goes so he can listen to it. Great quality that I expect from Fischer Price.

Our girls love this toy a bit too much. We got this for our twin 2 yos birthday and oh boy have they been using this non-stop. They aren’t old enough to safely put a disk on and adjust the record player themselves yet but they love to try and help (so 3+ seems appropriate age). The songs are pretty good but wish they come out with more disks for purchase. Suggestion for fisher price: Come out with an option to record a song as well!! That would be awesome! Overall solid toy and fun alternative to screen time and frees up your phone to record babies dancing away! 😉
