Item arrived very well packaged, but the instructions were a little hard to understand – I had to go onto the manufacturers website before it became clear which combination of buttons that I needed to press to bind with the Nintendo Switch.

Once bound the comfortable ergonomics made for an enhanced gaming experience – it really was a fantastic addition to the switch – recommended.

I have been using this on my Nintendo Switch OLED, it was a bit of a pain to pair it originally and I had to google how to pair them as I did what it says in the manual but it didn’t do anything.

Finally paired, it was time to test out the controller out properly so I fired up Splatoon 3! I am glad to report that the triggers felt responsive and the analogue sticks felt like they had more movement in the them when comparing them to the joycons. Other games like Super Mario Bros Wonderland saw minimal improvement over the joycons but I expected this.

The controller is a little on the heavy side so I found extended periods of play with the Switch to be a little fatiguing. Overall 4/5 stars, mostly positive and can recommend just be wary of the weight.

My 7 year-old nephew Luke tested the GameSir G8 Plus for me and his dad (my brother) gave me some feedback, as both had a try. The fact it’s wireless is fantastic (this charges with USB-C). Dad tells me that Luke had a wired controller before.

This is a well-built, solid quality, responsive controller (no third-party rubbish quality here!) and no fears about the GameSir being insecure either, as it has a nice firm grip on your Switch. Feels comfortable to use with both child and adult hands (my brother is quite stocky!).

I agree with the reviewer saying the instructions aren’t great, but it was incredibly easy to pair anyway. There are two programmable buttons on the back too.

Was a bit worried about Bluetooth connectivity, (as some gadgets can be flakey on BT) but there were no glitches whatsoever.

This GameSir controller is compatible with Switch, iOS, tablets, Android but we only tested it on a Nintendo Switch.

Battery seems to last a while too. Nephew only gets an hour or so play each time but it is only being charged every week or so.

Happy to recommend – you’re getting top-notch quality, as you’d expect for this price.

Gamesir G8 plus works great with Legion Tab 2024. Connects via Bluetooth as any Bluetooth device, but also via usb-c. The controller has usb on the bottom so you need to use cable.
In both type of connection – there is no lag.
G8 feels comfortable and of a high quality.
I was sceptical about Bluetooth connection but it surprised me how responsive it is.

    Tested by my partners son.

I recently tested this GameSir G8 Plus Bluetooth Mobile Game Controller on my Nintendo Switch, and it can honestly say that it enhanced my gaming experience.
First and foremost, the build quality is impressive., and certainly much higher than others I’ve seen and tried out. The controller feels solid and is comfortable me hold. The buttons are responsive, and the Hall Effect joysticks and triggers provide smooth, precise control, which is essential in fast-paced action or racing games.
Connectivity is another strong point for the G8 Plus. Pairing it with my Switch was easy, and the Bluetooth connection was stable during my gaming sessions.
The performance is where the GameSir G8 Plus stands out. The Hall Effect technology in the joysticks and triggers translates into accurate and consistent inputs. The response time is excellent with no noticeable lag.
Battery life is also now then acceptable. After several hours of continuous play, the controller still had plenty of charge left. This is a major plus for extended gaming sessions or when you’re on the go.
Additionally, the controller’s compatibility with various devices, including Android tablets and smartphones, makes it a versatile tool for gamers who play on multiple platforms, though as mentioned in the headline I’ve only tested it on my Switch.
Overall, this game controller is a great product Its build quality, easy connectivity, simple controls, and long battery life make it a very good choice for any gamer.
    Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOPENING THE PACKAGE
Makes a great first impression with a gorgeous box design, which increases expectation further with how well presented everything is upon opening it.

The design of the GameSir feels comfortable in the hand and has good grip.

    TERRIBLE INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are a disgrace. Printed on a massive map sized multiple folding piece of paper, the actual written details are written very, VERY faintly down the left hand side, to the point I had to zoom in with the macro on my phone to be able to read them. The details lead to me having to search Google and then YouTube.

TO PAIR UP WITH NINTENDO SWITCH
At first I couldn’t get it to link up with the Switch, and the way forward listened in the instructions was useless. I did a bit of digging and thanks to Marc The Geek on YouTube found a way forward. Out of the box the light in the bottom right of the unit was flashing blue. To pair with Switch it needs to be red.

    Go to
Controllers > pair up new controllers.

Press the solid circle in the bottom left of the unit and then hold Y until the circle at the bottom left glows red. Then you can sync up with the Switch with no problems whatsoever.

    PERFORMANCE
It’s outstanding. Responsive, feels really comfortable in the hand. The Switch screen is gripped securely and I had full confidence in it staying there, and would do if I was on a train.

Clearly printed buttons, paddles on the base.

The item itself is absolutely exemplary.

    IN CONCLUSION
A stunningly packaged item, which leads to an essential gaming extra, let down by the terribly printed and badly explained instructions. I hope the manufacturer is paying attention and can look into making this easier for the customer to enjoy the item itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars A *stunning* item paired with awful instructions [Switch pairing details in review]
