How to Connection:

I connected my gamtooy Play4 controller to my Google TV. The controller works perfectly with the few games I have on the TV and works great as a controller for google TV too.
I like the design on the controller. The controller feels comfortable to hold.
The one let down is it uses Micro usb instead of usb C to change.
This is a ps4/Pc controller that has a cool electric red printed design that has a shiny finish on the face of the pad, its roughly the same size as an original ps4 pad if not a little bit smaller.
All buttons work well and are responsive as are the analogue sticks with no drifting.
I like the feeling of the directional controls (Dpad) I can use this pad on fighters with no problems pulling off moves or complex combos.
It charges with a supplied miro usb cable which I used to connect to my ps4 then unplugged for it to work wirelessly with no issues.
I did get a system message on my ps4 stating that I may not be using an official controller so some functions may not work but I found everything works perfectly fine with no issues whatsoever.
The only thing I didn’t like is some of the buttons rattle if the controller is shaken or moved a certain way but doesn’t effect the use of them.
I’ve got a few 3rd party controllers and I have to say for the price this is one of the better ones, I like using and good for a spare or for extra players.
This is a really well made controller, with an awesome skin. The charging is fast and it can last a couplle of days depending on your gaming time. The buttons work incredibly well, has great motion. You get a lot for the price.
I wanted a controller to use with my PC. I’ve got an XBox controller and a Steam Controller, but I wanted to try a Playstation style. So how well did this work?
Something that is worth pointing out is that the included USB cable is for charging only – it doesn’t carry data. It works just fine to charge the controller (it took about two hours). With a normal data cable, it connected just fine and was recognised without any configuration. I also tried it with Bluetooth and it worked just as well.
So how well-built is this? Actually pretty good. I’m normally a bit sceptical of third party controllers as they’re often cheaply made and can have plastic that’s a bit thin. But this is pretty good. It’s solid and feels pretty good. The selection of thumb grips for the joysticks is a nice touch.
It’s pretty solid and just works without hassle, so I have to say that I’m pretty pleased with this. I’m not so keen on the garish pattern, but that doesn’t bother me in use.
As shown in my video, I can play all of my PS4 games on my ps5 console with this controller, feeling and behaving exactly like my official PS4 controllers.
The rumble is the same, the buttons, thumbsticks, the lightbar colour changes are all the same apart from subtle changes to the printed symbols. It’s great.
I also tested this playing Steam games on my PC. Not that I will use it for that as I use an Xbox controller for PC gaming because it’s more supported. But Steam games have a good mapping system for unsupported gamepads, so as shown in my video I tested this out on a couple of popular games, and it performs superbly once Steam compatibility is enabled. However, unlike on my PS5, I can only use the gamepad wired on the PC as stated in the product description. That’s fine as PC support is just a bonus, anyway.
I also love the cool design of lightnings mixed with splashes of red on a glossy black background.

We liked this very trendy design and the robust construction. It is very comfortable to hold for long periods and the function and usage we found to be great. It connects well and quickly, and we found the manual very helpful for the initial setup. It has a good range and charges quickly and holds a charge for a good length of time. The additional stick pads we found to be a bonus. Very happy with this cool controller, it looks amazing.
This is a great alternative controller for your PS4 or Pc. It has exactly the same layout as a normal control so gripping it is easy. The buttons are nice and responsive and the overall look is good. I have used mine for my PC via a Bluetooth adapter and it’s really easy to set up. I think you would be hard pushed to find a better priced alternative to this control.
I was a little worried that this controller wouldn’t be up to much, as others had said it was very rattly and didn’t sound like it was all that well made. However, I am pleasantly surprised by it and the controller we received doesn’t rattle at all.
The controller has a really good weight to it and feels decent quality. My son and daughter both like the design of it and they thought it would of cost a lot more than it actually does so that is saying something from my highly critical children.
Our old controllers were having a lot of issues with charging and so this controller has been a great replacement as it actually charges with no issue at all. Works well and feels good to hold.
The vendors description, measurments and pictures are mostly accurate (exageraion in some cases).
You will receive: one controller and a charging cable (which is NOT a data cable).
The controller is very realistic to orignal controller. The buttons are very smooth. Once connected, it works just great as a PS4 controller – all buttons work as intended and as you would expect.
However the cable supplied is NOT a data cable. It doesnt sync to any console with it. It will charge, but not sync. You will need another cable if you wish to do this.
No lag. does NOT work with ALL games on PC. other than that works great.
I would be happy to recommend this product. – just dont forget to get yourself a data cable, otherwise you cant sync it. It needs a USB micro. bit wierd but there you go.
I’ve had a few of these 3rd party PS4 controllers from Amazon to review now and this is one of the best yet.
It took a couple of hours to charge out of the box using the provided charging cable, battery life seems to be pretty good so far.
Build quality is good, it doesn’t feel cheap in any way, the buttons and triggers are nice to press and feel quite responsive, the thumb sticks and D-Pad seem to work just fine. Included in the box are some alternative sets of rubber grips for the thumb sticks which I thought was a nice touch.
The overall shape and design of this controller is pretty much identical to an official Sony one, it’s a little lighter than an official controller by around 20 grams but it still feels nice and solid.
All in all it’s hard to fault this controller especially given the price, well worth a buy.
I got the Gamtooy Play4 controller to use with a PC rather than a PS4 and I’m pleased to say it performs really well.
I like the funky design of it, and it even comes with a spare set of pads for the action buttons.
I didn’t have any issues pairing it to the PC, and I find it easy to hold and responsive. It has a great build quality. There is a headphone jack to plug headphones into it. This isn’t a feature I’d personally use as I have headphones already plugged into the PC, however I’d say it’s a handy addition to the controller.
All in all, great budget friendly controller.
Hi, got this for my son as he goes through controllers abit from wear and tear, he loves the colours on this and like the texture underneath as it feels good to grip with, it all works fine and it’s not a bad controller but it does rattle a bit, but overall it’s cheap enough and looks good and works
I don’t know much about ps games myself so I got my resident 9 year old expert to test this out. He was extremely impressed and says it’s even better than the controller that he already has. He said that it is very responsive and loved the colours. He can now also play with his brother and other members of the family. He is very pleased and gives this nine out of 10 and so do I!
If you still use a PS4 and your controllers are getting a bit “rough around the edges”, this third party controller will do equally as good a job.
The controller paired with my PS4 without any problems. Switch on the PS4, plug the controller in (a USB cable is supplied), press the ‘PS’ button. Pairing stays even after you switch off the PS4.
The controller feels sturdy in the hand, the controls are responsive, and I didn’t get any fatigue or notice any difference in using it compared to the official Sony PS4 controllers. Your wallet would definitely notice the difference!
