This product was sent to me for review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.
In terms of quality, the mount itself feels very robust – the metal construction is solid, with a sleek finish, and a secure grip (using the clamp). For some reason, the phone adapter for the mount feels much less premium – the plastic is somewhat flimsy, and has rough edges, which would make me concerned about scratching my phone.
In summary, if used for a GoPro, the mount is excellent, I just wouldn’t use it otherwise.
I previously used a similar design to this one with my bikes, but with a shorter main arm and a wider clamp. This one is absolutely my favorite though. I found that just that extra inch or so of reach makes all the difference in preventing brifters and bike lights from entering the camera frame. Properly torqued down, I’ve found this clamp to be VERY stable… the clamp even more s while requiring less tightening. If anything the gopro mount is the weak link here, but that’s more gopro’s fault than GEPULY. Even really tightened down, I’ve found my gopro mount will cause some drifting, but I’ve minimized it by keeping my cam perfectly level with the ground.
The phone holder seems absolutely useless… unless you’ve got a phone that’s just the right width. Without an adjustable clamp width, what is the point of including this? The 1/4″-screw ball-mount looks quite useful, but I’ll probably never use it.
This has been a great camera mount for my bikes (only takes seconds to remove and reposition on my handlebars)–I just swap between them when I take a different bike. I typically do 20-30 mile rides in some very bumpy conditions, and I’ve never had the mount come loose. It has been very stable, and I’d definitely consider buying another.
This handle bar mount is extremely well built in the ball mount, go pro mount, and clamp portion. The phone holder is what appears to just be a spring clamp and not sure I’d trust it with vibration. It may hold just fine, i have yet to test it. The rest of it, I trust with out issue. It even clamps to a 2×4 by my work bench for when I am filming there. Versatile in the fact I can switch it from the snowmobile to bike to a 2×4 to my boat rail etc. The possibilities are endless.
