Item:
Godox X3 X3C Flash Trigger for Canon, Touchscreen interface & local controls, Built-in Type-C Charging Battrery TTL HSS 2.4G Wireless Speedlite Trigger kit with Storage Bag for indoor outdoor shooting
Packaging:
Packaging was really good. The item was packed in a professional product box. The box is designed in a way to protect the item with a cardboard frame that keeps it in place and does not allow it to move around. The box itself is also very sturdy. I don’t think there is much risk of shipping damage.
Material Quality:
The device is made of plastic with a metal hot shoe connector.
Assembly/Build Quality:
The device is well built and feels very solid. The fit is a little tight on the shoe but it could also just be my camera. The screen is clear and bright.
Marketing Material:
The images represent the item well and I don’t see any signs of misrepresentation of the product. The only issue I have is that when the device is powered up the default language is Chinese. Luckily the icons are easy enough to figure out which one is for changing language and I was able to switch it to English. The user manual is also in both languages so if you can’t figure out the icons you can use the manual.
Functionality:
This device is a solid device. The touch screen is responsive and the menus are smooth. There is also a small dial knob that you can use to scroll through the menus and you can push the dial knob to select whatever you have highlighted. The flash recycle is quick. The unit can also be programmed for several different profiles. It has a USB-c charging port and included cable. The unit comes with a soft shell carry case which is a nice addition. Lastly there is an included USB powered lamp. It has wireless capability to link with other units as well.
Price:
This item is listed (at the time of this review) for $89.00. This price seems to be in line with other similar products and I do not have any issue with it.
Likes:
I really like solid build of this unit. It feels like it will last a while.
Dislikes:
As long as the unit lasts I don’t really have anything about it that I dislike.
Overall:
I would definitely recommend this item if you are looking for a wireless flash trigger for your cannon camera. The unit is well built and has loads of functionality. It comes with a nice carry case to keep it safe and the price is not too bad either.
This is a must if you are into photography. Godox again does not disappoint and has made a great product. The trigger comes packed in a nice box and it includes a small USB lamp. The touchscreen is easy to use and has a user-friendly menu that is intuitive and clean. The screen is also very bright so, you won’t have a hard time using it. You will be able to control all your settings really fast and easy.
Very good quality wireless flash trigger from Godox made from good materials and is built to last.
I am no expert on flash triggers BUT I have and currently using the previous versions V2 mostly but on occasions V1 if using multiple cameras and I am being lazy and just don’t want to remove/connect the trigger to the cameras. I have been using this for just over two months now and so far I have had no issues, I have been using it on a Canon EOS 90D & 250D and it works exactly as you would expect.
The wireless flash trigger feels solid and durable and is very lightweight which is perfect as you don’t want to be adding more weight than necessary to your camera especially when holding for long periods of time.
Very quick and easy to setup might take a few minutes if you have never used a trigger before and if you have you will be up and running in about thirty seconds if that.
I have been using this on a number of different Godox studio, strobe lights & speedlites and as you would expect as they are the same brand works straight out of the box, I have also been using it with Godox wireless receiver on different brand lights Neewer and also used a Cannon speedlite and again no issues at all it works perfectly.
The Godox X3 is smaller and more lightweight than the previous versions and does all the things the previous versions do and more the two new features I will talk about is It has touch screen and now it has a built in battery which you can charge with a USB-C cable which I love my only minor grumble with the previous versions is that they required two AA batteries so for me personally this is a great touch.
The touch screen is very sensitive and responsive which is exactly what you would want from a touch screen BUT I have a love hate relationship with the screen, it is smaller than the V2 and because of this it is more compact and can be a bit fiddly at times when I am in a rush to change the settings using the touch screen. It does have buttons on the side which are very responsive BUT I personally prefer the bigger screen and buttons of the V2 and yes I know it is NOT touch screen like this version maybe I am just to use to the V2 and because of this I have been finding I am using the V2 slightly more than I thought I would be. BUT that inbuilt battery is just the game changer for me and keeps bringing me back to use it.
Overall I am very happy with the wireless trigger and I would recommend it.
Product Review: Godox X3 X3C Flash Trigger for Canon
I recently got my hands on the Godox X3 X3C Flash Trigger for Canon, priced around $90, and it has quickly become a staple in my photography kit. The fast recycle time is a standout feature, allowing me to capture multiple shots without missing a beat. This is especially beneficial during general photography sessions where speed and efficiency are crucial.
The touchscreen interface and local controls make it incredibly user-friendly. I appreciate the built-in Type-C charging battery, which adds convenience, especially for both indoor and outdoor shooting. The 2.4G wireless speedlite trigger kit comes with a storage bag, making it easy to carry and organize.
Overall, the Godox X3 X3C Flash Trigger is a fantastic addition to my photography gear, and I highly recommend it for its performance and ease of use.
An STG Synergies BTN Enterprises Review!
If you are a photographer you have probably seen Godox products before. They started out as a brand nobody knew about but their quality and price have quickly made them a favorite. I love their products and this flash trigger is no exception. It works with almost any Godox flash and probably works with other brands as well but double check before you buy. Highly recommended.
I am a professional photographer and flash photography is my primary business. I’ve used flashes from every system out there including Profoto, Westcott, and many others. Most of the triggers out on the market are large, confusing to use for newer photographers. The Godox X3 is fantastic! The screen is bright and easy to read, with intuitive functions and menus. I had a few misfires, maybe one in every 100 shots I would take, but overall I’m really happy with the performance of this trigger.
Really like the compact of this unit. I own the Nikon version and it is so easy to use. Picked the Canon version up as well and I am able to use my TTL flashes with no issues at all. Really like the storage case it comes with as well. The user interface is easy to use as well and light up well in dark places for easy to read.
The Godox X3 X3C Flash Trigger has been a fantastic piece of equipment . The touchscreen interface is intuitive and easy to use, allowing for quick adjustments on the fly. The builtin Type C charging battery is a convenient feature, eliminating the need for constant battery changes.
The trigger offers reliable TTL and HSS capabilities, ensuring consistent lighting in various shooting conditions. The 2.4G wireless range is impressive, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor shoots. The included storage bag is a nice touch, keeping everything organized and protected.
Overall, the Godox X3 X3C is a well designed, dependable flash trigger that enhances my photography experience.
I really like this trigger set. The small size of it without giving up the advanced functionality is what wins me over. I remember using Pocketwizards 20 years ago, and then eventually using the Paul C Buff triggers for their Bee’s and Einstein sets and loving the small size. While it never dawned on me how nice it was to use small triggers again because the Flashpoint FPRRR2SPT trigger isn’t really that big, I have to say the X3C is pretty damn awesome.
Paired with some ETTL flashes the X3C just straight forward worked like a charm. I had no issues doing either TTL or Manual on hot shoe flashes and my Xplor units. HSS worked without an issue either. Overall experience with using the device is great. I I really like the visibility of the screen and while it eats at battery life the first thing I do after changing the language on it is change the display so it stays bright and on for 3 minutes.
The only real negative I saw with the device is it starts in Chinese and you have to navigate to change it to English. Fortunately if you’ve used a cell phone, it’s pretty easy to understand how to use this device.
While not negative, there are some ergonomic stuff from other Flashpoint/Godox triggers that you have to get used to. One example is not having the test button on top but rather the side, which most flashpoint triggers tend to have. Also rather than a slide to stay on button, it’s a hold down to turn on button which is a good thing because the X3C has a built it menu option for auto off. I’ve killed a LOT of batteries on my other triggers leaving them on.
If you are a off camera light shooter and use the Godox or Flashpoint system, this really is a great trigger. The onboard battery is nice (though might me a problem for future me if it starts dying), and the whole unit is very easy to work with once you get used to it. It’s a little pricey at $89, but I come from a time when it used to be $300+ to shoot off camera with Pocket wizards, so having to only spend $89 on a transmitter and all the lights have receivers built it has been a massive boon the last 6~7 years.
