The trap is made well and will do what is intended if the rat or rodent goes inside. If placed on a narrow run I bet it works very effectively but I think not so great in an open outdoor space. It might have been that I used the wrong flavour of cheese and chocolate! It did capture a couple of mice which i released as I wasn’t trying to red them. Just didn’t catch the the big blasted rat!

MY WIFE LOST HER NERVE WHEN SHE REALISED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO CARRY THE TRAP AND A HEAVY ANGRY RAT TO HER CAR, DRIVE FOR FOUR OR FIVE MILES BEFORE RELEASING THE DISORIENTATED RODENT. ( SHE WAS TERRIFIED THAT THE RAT WOULD BITE HER FINGERS THROUGH THE MESH OF THE TRAP ) SHE INSTRUCTED ME TO BUY A HUMANE TRAP AND SHE INSTRUCTED ME TO RETURN IT !)

Super easy to use. First day I set it up and caught a rat. 4 nights following, I caught 4 more. Great thing is, these traps don’t kill the cute little creatures. I only needed to re-locate them as one was getting a little bit brave and decided to stroll into my kitchen one day. Trap still set up but not had any more rats so I think this was a little family and they have all been relocated in woodland, a few miles away where there are no residential places. I think all the rats have gone because there were two cats stalking my garden every night and day. Since I have caught the rats, the cats no longer come into my garden. I was slightly worried because the rats have long tails and I was concerned that a tail may be trapped in the door. This did happen one morning, but when the rat saw me approaching, it jumped around in the trap so hard that it managed to free it’s tail and no injury happened. Possibly a slightly longer trap would be better but I doubt this “accident” happens often. Great product and worth the money
