JOYROOM Car Charger Adapter 4.8A Dual Port Cigarette Lighter
JOYROOM Car Charger Adapter 4.8A Dual Port Cigarette Lighter USB Charger All Metal Mini Car Phone Charger with Type C Coiled Cable 12V USB Socket for iPhone 15 14 13 12 Pro Max Samsung S23 S22 etc
I have tried Joyroom products before and they never disappoint. This is a great high speed charger with 2 charging ports. It allows you to use 2 different types of charging cords. It comes with a sturdy USB C braided cord that is the perfect length for charging your phone in the car. I like the small size of the charger as it doesn’t stick out very far from the charging port. It has a thing multi colored light ring around the top that lets you see where the plug openings are in the dark. The charging cord also has a small light up area by the plug. The quick charging time makes this my go to charger for my Android phone.
The car adaptor is very small, so fits neatly into the socket. It is illuminated when there is power to the vehicle and the curly USB C cable is a nice addition. However, it will take any USB A lead so works perfectly with my iPhone cable. Good price too. Recommended.
I ordered this to use as a multi use charger in my work truck. I have a blower that has 2 batteries that use a c port to charge. This charger works great. I plug the batteries in and a couple hours later they are fully charged. Great product. Oh it also charges my Pixel 6 just fine. Good value.
This is a great charger for your car. It is well-made and has small, elegant design and footprint.
Plug-n-play functionality and works very well. I have not tried charging using both ports, but the single configuration I have used, worked well.
I will update this review if needed based on further experience.
Small, compact size. Used to charge my Android phone and this was done completely during a 30 minute car drive.
Does what it says on the tin and is of excellent quality at a reasonable price.
Well built and low profile, and a nice subtle accent RGB ring.
USB and USB C, both claiming 30w capabilities.
It’s possible that the green cable pictured does not support 30w, as it did not show as “rapidly charging” on that cable and port. However with the included USB C cable, a nice braided cable with illuminated ends when charging, my Pixel 8 Pro showed “charging rapidly”! The little opaque white plastic at the base of the metal plug lights up. Neat!
Low profile design is nice for any vehicle, in my Forester, I can even close the “ashtray” door with the power adapter in the cigarette lighter socket.
3 port models are also available from this brand.
No complaints,
Highly recommended!
I have a Joyroom IPhone charger/holder that this works perfectly with. My car has two cigarette charging ports and at first I put this in the wrong one, but one in the other it worked great. It’s gives a very good charge. Very happy with it. I highly recommend this product.
So I works for charging phones but I got it hoping to replace a bad charger for a GPS display and I don’t think it could source enough current, as it wouldn’t turn on the display.
The small footprint is perfect and the lights are so pretty. The colors aren’t annoyingly bright. It is a soft light because it’s frosted over. Same thing with the cord ends being a gentle ice blue. The cord is braided and a great length for using with phone holders on the left side of steering wheel. It’s perfect to have the both usb c and usb a port for flexibility.
This thing is quite tiny. In fact it is almost a flush mount. It sticks out about a 1/4″ from the dash which is a bonus and a curse. It makes it really hard to grab onto and pull it out.
Charger Body: There is a RGB light ring around the outer edge that really kinda neat but is not needed. The light is very dull and muted. During the day it is impossible to see. At night is lights up but not obnoxious. You can see it however it isn’t bright and doesn’t impede night vision as this was a worry for me but it passed that test. More of an accent lighting. The RGB is NOT changeable so all you get is the “Rainbow effect”. Each Port also has a led light so you can find the ports and night to plug the cord into.
Charger Cord: The cord that comes with this is a small 3′ black cloth braided USB-C to USB-C cord with a small blue light ring around the base of each USB-C connector. The light will NOT light up until the cord is plugged into the charger AND your phone/charging device. Unplug either end and the light will go out. The light is muted and not bright making it where you can see it at night but it is not too bright.
Charging: While using the charger I got mixed readings. Not I do not know if it was the charger, my phone or what. However I plugged it into my 18-wheeler and it charged my phone quick and easy but got hot during. In my pick up it didn’t get hot be seemed to charge a little slower the first time. about 1% a minute. However the second time it charged my phone from 25% to 50% in 15 minutes so I don’t know. Also that first time in my truck it seamed to charge/disconnect several times so maybe a bad connection? After that I didn’t seam to have a problem with it so it may have just been me.
Conclusion: This is a good fast charger with included cord. Cord is short but functional. RGB lighting is a gimmick but functional at night, useless in the day. Size is very small and can be a problem for some and others not so much.
I thought the rainbow lights would be tacky but it’s actually pretty and not that bright. I’m a big fan of low profile car chargers and this fit the bill. The cord was a surprise to me. I didn’t realize it was going to be braided and had lighted ends. The lighted ends are a pretty blue that’s frosted so it’s not obnoxiously bright. Perfect for finding your cord at night. I like it so much I ordered a second.
I love that it could fast charge my Galaxy s22 ultra. I travel a lot for work and I’ve been looking for a 12v car outlet fast charger for a long time and none of those that I bought could do it until this one. It’s also very small and compact. Looked very tiny in my hand but really surprised me with what it’s capable of. It has 2 USB output ports, one USB A and 1 USB C. Also comes with a braised USB C to USB C cable just in case you need a spare one. Love it and will use it for all my trip from now on.
This little cigarette-plug style dual USB charger packs a punch. This is rated at 30W per port simultaneously. I only tested the USB C port on a wireless charger. It definitely charges my iPhone 13 much faster than my old 2.4A charger. It was just as fast as my strongest wall charger. As a comparison, this charged at an average rate of 1% every 2 minutes vs 8 on old charger.
I needed a USB A port because not all my devices charge from C to C; only A to C. This charger has both A and C ports.
It’s flush fitting and has a cool colored ring when it’s plugged in.
It’s a keeper!
I recently updated all my phone charging apparatus to the Magsafe Inductive charging technology. Little did I know that all that new tech doesn’t work of old-school 5 volt USB chargers. I learned that you need more powerful power adaptors that support PD or QC standards. So I had to buy a slew of new adaptors. Of course, amazon has thousands of car adaptors to choose from so I picked a few different ones to use.
This adaptor worked just as well as the others but what sets this apart is that this one is much smaller. See the pictures. This one will sit flush to your power plug (cigarette lighter) and look more OEM than others. The only thing that sort of makes it look a little janky is the color ring. Some people may like it but it makes it look less OEM because of it. Minor gripe, honestly.
The USB-C cable that comes with is a nice cloth-covered black style. I like the cloth covered ones much better than cheapo plastic/rubber. I only wish it was just a little longer. I need closer to 4 feet to reach in my application.
I use this in the car for general charging but specifically needed the USB-C for my iPad Pro. The low-profile design means that it doesn’t stick out from the accessory socket very far which leaves me plenty of room for cables.
The included nylon braided USB-C cable worked well with my iPad and charged reasonably quickly. The 3.3ft length works well in the car. The nylon braid on the cable is quite fine and I am of two minds on this: it improves flexibility and feel of the cable but it may not hold up as well as a cable made with a heavier braid.
I expect to get a lot of use out of this.
