Great phone pouches to use when going on water rides or out hiking in the rain. Excellent quality and keeps the phone dry with it’s superb performance quality. Size is good for a 6.8″ phone so it does the larger phones which is useful. Great safety device for your phone. Nothing better than a dry phone after being at a water park or out in the rain for hours.
Great value and highly recommend.
Great seal on it with the triple lock system. But very fiddly if you want to get something out like your phone if you wanted to take a picture. But I suppose that’s what you need to keep it water tigh
Waterproof, excellent seals on them. Folds down neat and small too, so easy to use. Great as a small bag for water sports or festivals. Ideal if you want to keep valuables on you whilst you swim by beach. Sits comfy on waist and band dries quick.
I recently purchased the IPX8 Waterproof Pouch Bag and it has exceeded my expectations. Whether I’m hiking through trails, lounging on the beach, or swimming in the lake, this pouch keeps my belongings dry and secure. The adjustable belt strap is a game-changer, providing comfort and convenience while I’m on the move. The translucent material is not only stylish but also allows me to easily check my device without having to remove it from the pouch. It’s reassuring to know that my items are protected by the IPX8 certified waterproofing, even when fully submerged. This pouch is a must-have for anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to keep their valuables safe from water damage. Five stars for sure!
I got these as a set of 2 waterproof pouches in translucent black.
They serve its purpose well, despite feeling a bit “cheap” in terms of material (which is typical for plastic waterproof products, I think). The triple zipper closure is impressively tight, I really struggled to open of them, which is good, means that no water gets in, although it does make opening a bit challenging – afraid I might rip it at some point. For added security, you also have a velcro flap that folds over the zipper.
In terms of size, it’s a snug fit for larger phones. As pictured, I have a Samsung S23 Ultra with a case, leaving very little room for additional items. The adjustable belt, while adequate for sizing (I’m a women’s UK size 12 and there’s plenty of belt left), feels somewhat flimsy.
Both I and my partner used these on our paddleboarding, and we found it convenient to wear (whether around your waist, over your shoulder or crossbag). We didn’t test its waterproof capabilities by submerging it (if I get the chance I will and I shall update my review).
Overall, it’s an okay product that does what it promises, with a few minor drawbacks to consider.
The colour of these waterproof pouches that I purchased is translucent black, which I feel is the best of the 3 options, with the other two options being totally black and totally transparent. With this you can see what items you have inside but someone further away, such as a potential thief, will not be able to tell what you have inside so that’s why I think this is best not just for its looks but also because of the security aspect.
I love the triple lock grip seals at the opening of the bag as you just need to push one side of the seal into the other so that these plastic seals grip onto each other to form a waterproof seal. I would advise that you make sure you run your fingers along each seal to ensure that it is fully sealed as any slight gap here will lead to water getting into the items you have inside it. The fact that they have provided 3 seals gives me great confidence that even if one or two were slightly open you still have the 3rd seal protecting your belongs. However, if you do them up as I suggested and make sure each one is properly sealed then you will have piece of mind that water will definitely not get in. Once shut, you then roll the seals up so that you are giving the bag the maximum protection as possible against water getting in through the seals. A plastic flap goes over the rolled up seals and is Velcro’ed shut so that they stay rolled up until you open that flap back up again.
Each bag has an adjustable strap so you can wear each pouch around your waist or throw it over your shoulder. There is enough room in these bags to store even the largest of phones and still have room to spare.
Better quality than I expected for the price of two! Super sturdy, feels like it is made of good materials and a lot of quality control. Size seems as expected, would easily fit a couple of phone and wallet, keys etc.
pleasant surprise was the elastic strap and the size is very well adjustable with plenty of space so weeks comfortable and safe!
There is a triple seal and an additional Velcro security so I believe this is probably as good of a dry bag as you can find!
Received box containing both items however where the contents where transparent black not solid black oh well it only a 1 out of pocket, would of returned them but they’ll suffice, plus my G/S puppy enjoyed chewing the box too shreds , my personal shredder. However good quality and fits up to a 46 chest with the strap
These pouches have to the potential to be fully waterproof, and that could save you a huge amount of money if you’re carrying a keyless car fob and an iPhone anywhere where they risk going into water. So they’re a sound investment whilst at the beach, sailing, kayaking, swimming and so forth.
I use the word “potential” because you need to be very careful to fully seal each of the three strips at the opening, then tightly roll down the top and velcro it in place. If you need regular access to whatever you want to store, forget it – these will not be suitable. Closing them is a fiddle, and must be done carefully each time. Opening the top requires strength to pull the seal apart, and it’s fairly easy to over-stretch the welded seam at the sides if you pull hard, as you must. The seam is rather thin, so you need to inspect it regularly, and re-confirm the pouch is fully waterproof each time you use it.
One of my pouches arrived new with a pin-hole in a seam where the bag had been folded hard during packaging. So, one of my bags is fully waterproof and the other one isn’t. It’s still fine in the rain, but not for total immersion.
So, whilst these are good value for money they do have drawback in terms of practicality. And if you buy a set, check them immediately for airtightness by submerging them fully for a few minutes and looking for bubbles.
I ordered these ready for a family holiday at the coast, to wear both cycling and on the beach to protect the car key (which is really a complex remote controller), my phone and my cards and ID. I am fairly happy with them.
The sealing system is conceptually thorough, with both seals and velcro-secured folds to keep water out. The waist strap is elasticated and even goes round my fatness so is plenty generous. The strap has a nylon clip fastener so is easy to close and open.
The “zips” are actually bag-top closure with ridge and slot that marry up like on freezer bags. There is no mechanism to close it and you’ll need to carefully check all three of them are fully closed and have not got stray sand in any of the slots.
The material is a soft translucent plastic and the seams have all been heat-welded with a single seam. This means the points where the straps join the bag are directly flexing the main bag seam, and I am concerned that in time these will crack and breach the integrity of the bag. I feel the seams should be double-welded at least on the edges to prevent this.
In summary, these will be fine cycling and on the beach and will likely be fine for a few weeks of use in water, but I’d want to check them very carefully indeed before each use after that. At 10 each they are great value if doing that is fine with you – it is with me!
Two in a pack makes these good value. I ordered fo use when out on my kayak, and my partner will use the other one for cycling when the weather is bad.
I tested the waterproofing by sticking some tissue paper inside, and weighting it down in a bowl of water for an hour. The tissue was bone dry which is reassuring. These are bigger than a lot of similar products, but I like that, it means you can fit your phone, a wallet, keys, whatever, and know that they are safe.
The opening and closing mechanism is a little time consuming, so if you need frequent access to your phone, this isn’t an ideal product. Likewise, the phone touch-screen doesn’t work through the case, and the case itself is quite dark. You can see your phone screen if you set it stay on, but you can’t unlock it or use functions from outside the case.
The elasticated and adjustable belt should fit most people, and fully extended the strap is (just) long enough to wear across your chest. A longer, non-elastic strap would have been better in this regard. However, for the main purpose of keeping your kit safe from water, these work really well.
