Fantastic monitor after coming from a 1080p 60hz
buttery smooth 180hz, insane pixel smoothness and clarity in games
2 days of use and one teeny tiny pixel stuck on green….hence the 4 stars
Got this for my series x. And is definitely an upgrade from my old hd tv the inbuilt crosshair is a great help and the customisation options are very accessible and easy.
I’ve had some really bad monitors where colours don’t seem realistic, or quality is really bad but this is the best one I’ve ever had. Great picture and build quality. For the price it’s great, I would love a second one if these soon.
The saturation, brightness and sharpness are excellent, especially the reds which really leap off the screen.
However, like some other purchasers, I have found that I get a marked halo along the leading edge of objects with straight lines. I play a lot of Wizard101 which is a family orientated game with bright colours & high contrast elements in scenes. When scrolling, I get a 1mm or so pale halo along the leading edge, which I find very distracting, especially since it shows on all objects. I have managed to reduce it after some playing around with the settings, but can’t remove it all together.
Having said that, it does depend on the game. I’ve tried Doom, Doom Eternal, Unreal & a couple of other FPS games & being that they are much darker, this problem doesn’t occur at all.
It may or may not bother you, depending on how picky you are, but given that it cost me nearly 300 & this never happened on my previous 120 monitor, I’m a bit disappointed.
It is particularly distracting when scrolling around web pages especially as the type is small due to the higher resolution. Again though, this does depend upon the colour scheme of a particular page.
I do feel that I need to take LG to task about the refresh rate. Yes it will do 180Hz, but not out of the box, & not in the normal mode. You have to put it into G-Sync mode at which put an Overclock option becomes available. Being that overclocking in general can cause problems, some people may not be comfortable putting it into this mode.
This is also the only way to make the HDR active. This time though there is no option, G-Sync switches it on whether you want it or now.
Overall a good monitor, if you can live with the limitations.
This is my first monitor, I have found it to be have a fast response time, bright, smooth, great screen size, the appearance is slik and professional looking and overall performance is great value.
Coming up from a 1080 monitor this a treat for the eyes, I find this is totally adequate in a well lit room not yet seen it in very bright sunlight. Colours seem fine without being overly garish, not played with the settings as yet as haven’t needed to but the menus are easy to find with the joystick on the bottom side of the monitor, double click and your in.
I watched someone playing league of legends and company of hero’s on this and there was no ghosting to be seen so for a mid range monitor I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it.
The monitor is great, probably the best in this price segment with a trusted brand like LG. Only negative is that the screen doesn’t tilt sideways and the brightness is average, nothing special (still pretty bright). Colours are well balanced. One of the most impressive things is that the build quality is really good in comparison to other brands that are a bit cheaper. 165hz refresh rate is only for the video port and not for the two hdmi ports they both work at 144hz. The stand takes up a bit more space than my liking on the desk
I use it along with my PS5 slim and its a great combination. Very Satisfied
Pros: Amazing for gaming.
Handy for working as you can fit two different tabs side by side easily.
Great picture quality and easy to setup.
Amazing adjustable height.
Cons: Screen doesn’t tilt left and right, you have to move the entire stand. Furthermore, the vertical tilt is at best a couple degrees, not sufficient enough to make a difference or to make me bother tilting it.
Can’t go back to gaming on a console as the frames you get on this 165Hz are amazing.
Conclusion: 100% Recommend. Not many like this at this price. I am going to buy a second one!
EDIT: Bought another one lol
Unfortunately product came with a couple of dead pixels, but as for the overall product this was such an upgrade to my previous monitor, would highly recommend to anyone that is looking to upgrade. Potentially measure up first as it seems to be a little large for my desk, but once again thats probably because my old monitor was OLD.
If you want an all-singing & all-dancing 4K multi-Hz-refresh-rate monitor then this probably isn’t for you, and you’re going to have to look at parting with quite a bit more of your hard-earned.
What this IS though is an extremely capable QHD gaming monitor which is capable of a really great picture with no ghosting even when used at a high refresh rate. Compatability with NVidia’s G-Sync as well as AMD’s Freesync is a great feature which seems to work very well.
Without going into more technical blurb which I’m sure is covered elsewhere, I will just say that so far this monitor goes plenty bright enough and I’ve seen no noticeable backlight problems in everyday use. In fact, it hasn’t once skipped a beat; it just handles everything that’s thrown at it.
The stand is very sturdy and the included DisplayPort cable – while maybe not being the longest – works well even at 165Hz refresh rates, as you might expect.
You might well be able to find an alternative monitor from another manufacturer which does very similar things with a very similar specification while spending a little less, but as an all-round package with great picture quality this really is quite a brilliant mid-range gaming monitor.
he colours and overall display is amazing. very crisp and an amazing menu. for me the brightness was an issue as i’m in a very bright environment with sunlight, and compared to my older monitor it was noticeable. However, for many this may not be an issue. If you’re using this in area where there isn’t light beaming through, i really do recommend this monitor, low latency and 1440p 120hz worked for my playstation. just the monitor didn’t suit me.
Did few days of intense research and review readings of all different 27′ 1440p 144hz+ monitors.
Ended up on this or GL850 for me.
27GR75Q is new “budget” model so proper review websites don’t have any info on them yet, but I took a gamble.
Went with 27GR75Q instead of GL850 due to the panel.
Newer ones are Nano IPS where colors tend to be oversaturated and not beneficial for gaming (that work on sRGB still), causing a lot of eye strain.
GR75Q has been fantastic to me so far. Colours and brightness are perfect (a bit too bright to me but that can be turned down, which is funny seeing a couple of people complaining about brightness but I guess I don’t play in a greenhouse).
LG settings menu is fantastic, you can adjust almost everything without any issues.
Build quality is really nice, the only weird thing is that my monitor plastic bezels’ gap are different, left side is nice and night with 1mm gap but right is a bit more open around 5mm. But you can’t see that, simply nitpicking for this price I wouldn’t really complain about such a thing as it probably varies from monitor to monitor on what you get.
It is not as heavy as I expected it to be, fairly light to be honest – holds on VESA arm with other monitor just fine.
No backlight bleed or backlight glow – which is a massive win over more expensive ones like GL850 where you get that a lot big time.
For the price I paid which was 220 at the time it was literally a steal for such monitor, in my opinion.
Unless the bigger expensive ones go down the price by another 100-150, look no further and buy this monitor as it is fantastic.
