This is a very nice and neat way to charge a couple of NP-W126 batteries.
I especially love the LED charging capacity readout on the front. You can see what it looks like in my photo – this is after I’ve charged a couple of batteries and it’s showing 100% charge.
It’s probably bigger than you might expect, but it’s still reasonably compact and it does the job well.
After searching for a reliable camera battery charger, I was genuinely impressed by this one. The packaging was a good start – neat and professional. I was particularly pleased with its ability to charge two NP-W126S batteries simultaneously and at a much faster speed compared to other chargers. The addition of SD card slots is a clever touch and has simplified my kit significantly. I’ve used this on several hikes and mountain biking trips, and it has organised my gear bag wonderfully.
The finish and build quality are excellent, though it does have a bit of weight to it. The case is robust and has a sleek display that shows the charging status clearly. However, it would benefit from a power bank feature for those lengthy outdoor shoots where outlets are scarce. Still, it’s highly practical and easy to use. This charger not only meets my photography needs but also adds a layer of efficiency to my setup.
The NP-W126S battery… well let’s say, it isn’t exactly known for lasting an extraordinary long time. After I purchased my Fujifilm S-X10, the next thing I purchased was three additional W126S batteries for it. I was always a bit disappointed that Fujifilm didn’t release a battery grip – but never fear as you can always use this “llano” battery charger that also doubles as a carrying case.
The case itself looks amazing (and not trying to sound weird, but it also feels amazing – being a very soft and smooth rubber.) It is easy to open and close, with a firm and secure snap (this is sounding weird isn’t it?) The two batteries fit securely, and the case gives you some really neat features – such as the one press digital display to view how much charge is left in each battery. You can charge your batteries on the go (and they charge pretty quickly) through the USB (and you can even connect a decent power bank as a source of power, if there isn’t an electrical outlet available.)
While it does feel rather expensive (69.99 at time of reviewing), what you are getting is a quick and convenient way of keeping those NP-W126S’s charged up, with a stylish and high-quality battery charging case.
This is a nice and practical travel accessory that helps you keep spare batteries and cards in one easy-to-find place in your day bag. Build and looks both excellent. It has a pouch and lanyard if you need them. Is well packaged so good perceived value IMO. There’s 18 off using the tick box – see the listing above. This makes it 40 or so. Not cheap even so, especially as it doesn’t act as a power storage unit, just a holder and chargher.
Usually I would carry cards and batteries loose, which can be a pain if you need a quick change. With this kit, they are in the same, easy-to-locate the box and also protected. There is a USB C socket for your charge cable and it’s plug and play and very practical.
I would recommend this unit. Arguably missed an opportunity to include power storage as well. Some cameras, especially with heavy use, drink up power. With a long day of mixed still and video use you can really need some extra power.
A nice, professional charger. A good way to store your batteries in your backpack and charge them at the same time!
Has 2 handy little SD card slots which is nice. Nice quality display which shows your state of charge.
Would recommend.
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.
For clarity, I have already tested and reviewed this charger, but for the Canon ecosystem (for which my review can be found here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R2Z3O8NU71G0Z4/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0CWGNPTH3). This means that both reviews will be similar, as I have essentially used the same device both times, with the only difference being the charging sockets fitted inside.
In terms of physical quality, the charger appears to be well-made – the construction is robust, with a sleek finish. Though it’s on the bulky side, you would still be able to fit it in a standard camera bag. Of course, being able to store two batteries plus an SD card inside the case will free up more room in said bag.
So far, I have had no issues charging my own batteries with the device (though I have not been able to test any third-party cells, as yet).
Much like the Canon unit I tested, there is an issue with the battery percentage reading on the case when it’s unplugged – my batteries were showing a different percentage between the unit being connected to power, and not. Regardless, I was still able to get them fully charged within a short space of time.
Overall, it’s a useful device – the charger offers versatility thanks to its USB-C compatibility, making it possible to use a power bank, and charge on the go. Recommended.
This is a great way to charge your camera battery and also for safe storage, 2 SD card slot to keep everything together. The display is nice a bright, keeping tabs on how much charge left and also as green charging logo when plugged into a USB outlet.
The llano NP-W126S battery charger/charging case arrived very professionally packed in a shrink wrapped colour printed cardboard box bearing the llano branding.
In the box you get the charging case, a USB C charging cable, a carrying lanyard, a soft carrying/storage pouch and an instruction manual.
The well designed charging case features PD fast charging for two NP-W126S batteries at the same time and as an added bonus also features two SD card storage slots.
NP-W126S batteries fit snugly into the charging slots without any slop and the unit will fully charge both batteries in around 90 minutes.
The finish of the case is exceptional and this is a good looking modern case.
Possibly in the upper price range for a charger but with all the built in design features and storage this is worth paying a bit extra.
+ useful screen, will show you some info (no battery inside, battery % and charging)
+ magnetic cover
+ you can store up to 2 SD Cards
+ carrying bag
+ rubberized legs, it’s more stable
+ orange accent inside USB-C port
+ charging cable in the bundle
+ minimalistic design
+ relatively slim
+ ease of use
+ you can take/store it anywhere you want
– it’s not a power bank, so you will need additional source of electricity to charge batteries inside
– might look like it’s too bulky
– just one USB-C po
I now own several of these as I have several camera systems and have reviewed others before, as performance is the same across the board irrespective of which battery is being used I will post my original review below as nothing has changed since.
“For full disclosure I received this for free as part of the Amazon Vine program, the opinion given is mine and mine alone and has not been influenced in any way.
Now for the good stuff…
I should mention I received 4 of these for 4 camera systems I have so the review on each will be identical as other than the battery size they take, they all work the same way.
This is perhaps the greatest invention ever for photographers and videographers ever , a super fast charging case with spring loaded slots for 2 SD cards, I have been racking my brain and I just can’t think of anything negative to say at all.
The fast charge isn’t an idle boast, much faster than the OEM charger and I have some batteries that charge direct via USB C and it is still faster than them.
This particular case came with 2 batteries and first impressions are good, they do compare favourably with other batteries I own but of course this is something that can only truly be measured via extended usage.
Knowing what I know, would I have bought these with my own money?
Absolutely, in fact if there is a Fuji version I shall be placing an order very shortly, I have run out of superlatives to describe how useful these are, no more carrying separate chargers , a supremely neat solution.
As someone who does carry too many batteries it would be nice perhaps if this also had an output port so it could act as a power bank in emergencies, not a criticism, just a suggestion.”
