My PS5 slim sits in a media cabinet at the back of my room and as such is prone to getting quite warm especially when all my gear is switched on. Often this means that the PS5 fans are on during play, and they are VERY loud at full blast.
THis neat little fan kit has worked well to solve this problem for me.
It consists of a horizontal stand and a fan unit (it won’t stand vertically with the unit attached)
The Unit has three small and quiet fans that draw power from the USB A socket on the back of the PS5 – but you don’t lose this socket as the unit has a pass through USB A on the faceplate, along with a button that is pressed to switch the unit on. It has three speed settings which are cycled through with a press of the button, A nice blue light mimicking the PS5 start up light is also applied.
The fans are not silent in operation, but are much quieter even at full speed.
Improvements?
I would prefer if you could disable the lights as an option, and it would be nice if the fans where automatic, but as it is you have to set the speed yourself.
Otherwise a useful bit of kit.

The early edition PS5 Slim is a hot beast, and this cooling fan does a great job in lowering its temperature. It works well in cooling, and it’s also cool to look at. Sleek and well fitting, it does the job in all important aspects.

The kit provides

The fan also uses the PS5 power supply via USB, but then the fan mounting has a USB-A output for other peripherals. The combination of raising the PS5 and the rear fans do improve cooling – but the fans are small, so no miracles.

An auxiliary set of fans/stand for the PS5 Slim. Given the huge numbers of aftermarket devices available for consoles, it makes one wonder if a device that cost millions to develop really needs a 30 quid gewgaw to improve it. But it can”t do any harm, right?
This stand is a little flimsy in construction,but once in place that shouldn’t be an issue, and the design does fit seamlessly with the console: The fans are reasonably quiet, and as it’s powered by the USB outlet they have thoughtfully built a replacement into the stand itself. Overall then, I have a few niggles with the actual need for this accessory and the build quality, but it does what it says it does.
Like the title says, Oops! We got this for our son knowing he had a PS5. What we didn’t know was that he has the wide body model and this unfortunately would not fit. A typical parent mistake of doing the right thing but not being qualified or being up on this kind of stuff.
Anyway, our son, after rolling his eyes at our incompetence, looked over the fan and rated it very highly. He was impressed with the build quality and after we both read other reviews for this product, advised us to give it full marks in our “untested” review.
So there it is, we have learned to ask before getting anything techy for our son and are giving this product 5 out of 5 stars based on his youthful knowledge and experience

My PS5 is in a warm spot in my room out of necessity and storage issues – I have wanted a fan for some time and the addition of a stand was a bonus. The fan is surprisingly quiet on the lower settings and and even when on the higher modes – isn’t noticeable when you’re in the middle of gaming, the higher settings are louder but again, you won’t need this at all times. The fan does do that it needs to which has hopefully extended the life of the overall console given I use it every time I game now. The fans and stand won’t solve cases of sever overheating but if you are looking for a budget option to solve a smaller problem, you can’t go wrong.

The fan is very quiet on the lower settings and isn’t noticeable during gaming. The higher setting is a bit more audible.

A handy thing to have, particularly if you have your PS5 in a cabinet, because although we all know that doing so limits the effectiveness of its internal fans, Real Life means that an awful lot of gaming units end up in one. Myself I have to admit that no matter how much I enjoy gaming, I really don’t like the look of the box that provides it. So in a cupboard is where it lives. Obviously when I’m playing the cupboard door is wide open, but the box still sits inside. Limiting its cooling ability, making the internal fan work overtime, and shortening the life of my Playstation. So an extra fan is always welcome.
This one comes with a handy frame that lifts the PS up a little, which also helps air circulate. It’s pretty quiet on the lower settings, though you can hear it on the highest, I find. Not so much that it’s annoying, since you’re generally nowhere near your PS box anyway, so for me not in any way an issue. It sets up in seconds and you just plug it straight into your PS box, but you don’t lose a port because they’ve actually thought to put a pass-through port on the USB, which is a really good feature.
The entire system feels pretty sturdy, and the stand has little non-slip feet to stop it marking your surface.
It also has an LED light, and that for me is a little irritating. I appreciate that you know when the fan is on, but it also gets brighter the stronger the fan is working, and for me it’s a bit of a distraction. Nothing that a quick scribble with a permanent black marker can’t solve though ;P
In all I’m very happy with this. I feel like it’ll help to extend the life of my hard-working PS, and that’s 36 well spent!
I ordered this to go on a PS5 Slim as I was finding the original design of the PS5 a little bit wobbly. This makes the console much more stable on the shelf. It’s also good that there is a cooling fan attachment too. All the parts are easy to fit.
The fan is quiet on the first two settings but does get a bit noisy on full blast. It has a nice blue light when in use, however you can’t turn the light off. What I don’t like though is that you have three fan speeds settings or off. Other PS5 fans from this manufacturer have an automatic switch on when it reaches a certain temperature which is a lot more useful, but with this kit you either have to have the fan on all the time your playing, or not at all.
The design is clever that you can easily access all your rear ports and you don’t lose a port either when you insert the usb plug that runs the fan as it has a USB outlet on the fan carriage itself. Great thinking. Everything in the set feels pretty durable and well made too.
Overall I like this fan and stand set. The stand helps keep the PS5 Slim more stable and allows more air underneath, whilst the fan keeps the PS5 cool. I think it would have been better with an auto switch on/off on the fan, and perhaps a choice to have the light on or off too. I still recommend it though.
