Didn’t think my old toothbrush could be bettered but I was wrong. This one is fabulous. Teeth feel smooth and freshened. The app that you can download is great too as it points out when too much or too little pressure is used. Would def recommend
This is the best that I have used.
You can stop there or read on and I will attempt to explain why and pass on some tips I have learned.
Put simply if you want to keep your teeth get an electric toothbrush.
Even the cheapest basic model will always beat a manual one.
There is the choice between the Oral B rotary type and the Sonicare ‘sonic vibration’ type in electric toothbrushes.
For years I used the Oral B type vefor switching to the Sonicare type. They have been wonderful.
This Oral B combines the advantages of both types in one brush.
It removes plaque really well.
The big advantage is that the brush allows you to focus on one tooth at a time to really maximize the effectiveness rather than in the regular type and concentrate on one area of your mouth.
The Oral B stops you from concentrating on a side-to-side action and the rotary action is better and causes less damage.
You can read all the actions for yourself rather than rather than my repeating them here. Switching is easy and simple via the control on the brush. : Likewise, you can read the benefits of linking your toothbrush to a phone app for yourself.
I was really impressed with the light indicator that simply informs you you are brushing at the correct pressure and this does not damage your teeth as I have done over the years by brushing too hard with a manual one.
The light for green comes on, red for two hard, and blue for not enough pressure.
A tip is to just use a pea-size blob of toothpaste and let the brush do the work rather than your hands.
This maximizes the cleaning action. At then spit out the excess but don’t worry about leaving some toothpaste in and swallowing, That way you get the benefit of fluoride protection.
Then use a good set of interdental brushes to remove as much plaque as possible.
I will return to this review after a few months of use to provide and update and my progress with it.
This is an amazing toothbrush. My oral hygiene has improved hugely since using this toothbrush. It is extremely easy to use and very comfortable to hold while cleaning your teeth. The battery life is fantastic and last me roughly 2 weeks on 1 charge. My teeth have never looked and felt cleaner. Definitely worth the investment.
Initially the price put me off but given the smart benefits and modes I bit the bullet and decided to give it a try.
When it arrived, I found it was really easy to use and to switch between the different modes. I also liked the travel case that it comes with to keep it clean and safe in my wash bag.
I used it straight away and found the pressure indicator was constantly showing red meaning I was being too harsh with my brushing. The next time I used it, I made more attention on the pressure indicator and kept it green 98% of the time. I was skeptical because I felt as though I was barely touching my teeth with the brush head but to my surprise, my teeth felt the cleanest they have ever felt at home with very little effort! I usually experience bleeding gums after using my previous toothbrush but with the iO5 I have not had this issue at all in the three weeks that I have been using it.
My teeth and gums are already looking and feeling much healthier just from changing to the iO5 and my sensitivity is very much reduced.
Would I buy it again or recommend it to anyone? The answer is a definite YES. Everyone always says, why pay so much for a toothbrush, the all do the same job. Before trying this product I would have said the same but right now I have to disagree and say it is worth every penny!
I clicked the io5 into my ‘Buy it Now’ and eagerly waited its delivery.
It came quickly, I was expecting just a small box so I was delighted to see the slick packaging full of everything I’d need to get my io5 going. Complete with charging cable, the brush, the brush head, instructions, travel case and brush case. I was impressed to see the travel cases as it’s something I definitely need! I love the fact that I can pack my io5 hygienically up in seconds and get going without having to buy any additional accessories!
As I unboxed the main brush, I knew instantly that this was an elite model. The smooth, suaveness of it made it feel very premier and unlike anything I’ve seen before. The digital display is a great addition too. I clicked on my brush head and instantly gave my new toothbrush a go!
It took me a couple of seconds to realise how the Bluetooth works for the brush but I quickly paired my brush to my phone with the help of the easy instructions and a world that I didn’t know existed opened up in tiny app form. The oral B app is amazing, it allows me to track my duration of clean but, more importantly, how well I’ve cleaned each section of my mouth. I love how it breaks each area of my mouth into sections and makes it much more manageable!
I scrolled through the different settings and found my favourite, it’s amazing how you can completely tailor the brush to your needs with 5 different programmes to choose from!
As I began to use my new brush, I really enjoyed the way that I could track my progress on my phone to ensure a really good clean, my teeth felt immaculate after! There’s so many different journeys for your teeth health you can access via the app too, they’re so personalised and easy to follow at the click of a button.
Although the higher end of the market, this brush is such a great purchase, worth the price and an utter game changer! Even my pre teen will use this, with a fresh head of course, and not make a fuss over brushing his teeth! I am definitely converted and won’t ever go back!
