Bought it a few weeks ago and haven’t needed to charge it yet so I’d say battery life is good, not sure how fast charging is yet.
The headset has incredible clarity of noise for shooting games.
I think the microphone itself is clear for people who are on the receiving end, however, the sidetone is awful. It sounds like you’re talking into a tin can and there is a constant buzz if it’s too high, and I feel like I need a bit of sidetone because the noise cancellation is too good, you cannot hear how loud you might be being.
Speaking of, you can edit the features like EQs, sidetone levels and other things by plugging it into a computer that has the Razer Synapse app downloaded and it will save these settings for when you plug it into the PS5.
You can change from dongle to bluetooth mode easily which is nice.
Overall, a good quality versatile headset, just trashy sidetone.
These premium wireless e-sports headphones have exceeded my expectations in every way, especially when it comes to gaming on my PS5.
First and foremost, the sound quality is phenomenal. The TriForce Titanium 50 mm drivers deliver crisp, clear audio with deep bass and rich mids, making every game feel incredibly immersive. Whether I’m playing fast-paced shooters or exploring open-world adventures, the audio experience is top-notch.
One of the standout features is the HyperClear Super Wideband Mic. The microphone quality is exceptional, allowing me to communicate clearly with my friends during multiplayer sessions. My voice comes through loud and clear, with no distortion or background noise, which is crucial for coordinating strategies and having fun with friends.
The wireless connectivity is seamless, and I appreciate the added convenience of Bluetooth support. The connection remains stable, and I haven’t experienced any lag or dropouts, even during extended gaming sessions. Speaking of extended sessions, the battery life is impressive, lasting up to 70 hours on a single charge. This means I can game for days without worrying about recharging.
The build quality is also worth mentioning. The headphones feel sturdy and well-made, yet they’re comfortable enough for long gaming sessions. The ear cushions are soft and provide excellent noise isolation, allowing me to stay focused on the game.
Overall, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) is an outstanding choice for anyone looking for a high-quality wireless gaming headset. Its superb audio performance, excellent microphone quality, and impressive battery life make it a fantastic investment for both PC and PS5 gamers. I highly recommend these headphones to anyone serious about their gaming experience.
These headphones are quite delicate, so I invested in a protective case for them (since they don’t fold). However, their battery life is remarkable. I’ve used them extensively for gaming, watching movies, and work, and I rarely need to recharge them. The microphone quality is decent, although the pop filter makes it challenging to determine the receiver’s direction—just a minor inconvenience.
I bought Logitech G PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Wireless and returned it next day as the MIC was poor.
I decided to go with the razer as reviews were good. Although cheaper than the Logitech, the product is better. The MIC is one of the best if not the best for wireless headset. The sound is also pretty good. I bought the Wicked Earpads and I can’t hear anything. The immersion is great. Synapse software is alright. Watch some youtube EQ settings to get the best of the MIC and sound.
Highly recommend this headset for Gamers that don’t want to sell a Kidney for each products but still want quality.
The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headphones have completely exceeded my expectations. As an avid gamer and music enthusiast, I was searching for a headset that could deliver both outstanding audio quality and comfort, and these headphones deliver on all fronts.
Firstly, the audio quality is phenomenal. The THX Spatial Audio provides immersive surround sound, whether I’m gaming, watching movies, or listening to music. The clarity and depth of the soundstage truly enhance my overall experience.
Secondly, the comfort level is exceptional. The memory foam ear cushions and lightweight design make wearing these headphones for extended periods incredibly comfortable. They fit snugly without causing any discomfort, even during long gaming sessions.
Additionally, the wireless functionality with low-latency connectivity is a game-changer. I can move freely without being tethered to my device, and the battery life is impressive, lasting for hours on a single charge.
The build quality is also worth mentioning—these headphones feel durable and well-made, which is reassuring considering their premium price point.
Overall, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro headphones are a fantastic choice for gamers and audio enthusiasts alike. They combine top-notch audio performance, comfort, and wireless convenience in a package that’s hard to beat.
The Razer BlackShark V2 Esports Gaming Headset stands as a pinnacle of audio excellence, delivering unparalleled sound quality, comfort, and versatility for competitive gamers and audio enthusiasts alike. From its crystal-clear audio to its lightweight design, every aspect of this headset is engineered to give you the edge you need to dominate the competition.
Let’s start with sound quality. Equipped with Razer’s innovative TriForce Titanium 50mm drivers, the BlackShark V2 delivers crisp highs, rich mids, and deep, punchy bass that immerses you in every gaming moment. Whether you’re listening for enemy footsteps in a tense firefight or enjoying your favourite music, the BlackShark V2’s audio clarity and precision elevate your experience to new heights.
But it’s not just about what you hear—it’s also about how you communicate. The BlackShark V2 features Razer’s Hyper Clear Cardioid Mic, which delivers crystal-clear voice communication with enhanced noise cancellation. Whether you’re coordinating strategies with your team or chatting with friends, your voice comes through loud and clear, ensuring seamless communication in the heat of battle.
Comfort is another area where the BlackShark V2 excels. With its lightweight design and plush memory foam ear cushions, this headset is designed for extended gaming sessions without sacrificing comfort. The breathable fabric ear cushions keep your ears cool and dry, even during intense gaming marathons, while the adjustable headband ensures a secure and comfortable fit for heads of all sizes.
Versatility is another standout feature of the BlackShark V2. Whether you’re gaming on PC, console, or mobile device, this headset offers universal compatibility, allowing you to enjoy high-quality audio no matter where you play. The detachable 3.5mm audio cable gives you the flexibility to connect to a wide range of devices, while the USB sound card provides advanced audio processing for PC gamers.
The only potential downside of the BlackShark V2 is its lack of wireless connectivity. While some gamers may prefer the convenience of wireless headsets, the BlackShark V2’s wired connection ensures a reliable and lag-free audio experience, making it a worthy trade-off for those who prioritize performance.
In conclusion, the Razer BlackShark V2 Esports Gaming Headset is a force to be reckoned with in the world of gaming audio. With its unparalleled sound quality, crystal-clear microphone, and all-day comfort, it’s the ultimate weapon for competitive gamers who demand nothing but the best. Whether you’re a seasoned esports pro or a casual gamer, the BlackShark V2 is sure to elevate your gaming experience to new heights.
Starting off with a strong title which I do stick by, these are so far the best headset I have used to date, and I by no means have used a lot but I’ve been through a few pairs through the years, such as Razer, Logitech G735, Arctis Nova 3 and one or two other.
When I was finding my latest pair, I was looking for all rounders but mostly ones which have a really good microphone, and in regards to that these are hands down the best, I prefer not using a dedicated microphone on my desk so this headset is perfect. The mic is clear, not too bass heavy and you have a lot of control over the enhancement on it too.
Along with that, the sound quality is really good too and they are great for gaming, music and movies with no complaints at all in those aspects. The sound presets are decent and the button to quickly switch between presets is amazing too along with switching to a custom one you can make.
Battery life is great and I only charge them about every 3 weeks but that of course depends on how much you use them, but for me I don’t use them all the time as I prefer my speakers. They don’t take too long to charge and they don’t get in the way even if you charge them, and you are able to use them and charge at the same time.
The ONLY COMPLAINT I have is the earpads are pretty bad and super annoying, the depth on them is not enough and your ears will touch the inside, they are not padded enough, they also irritate my beard, not sure about other people. Plus if you get the white ones they will get dirty super quick and when that happens there isn’t much you can do. Which is why I switched over to Wicked Cushions as soon as they released the 2023 Blackshark version.
Overall this is a SOLID headset and I so recommend getting them, they are a perfect all rounder and you will not be disappointed.
Warning:
I use these on a PC, if you’re using them for a console then I can’t really comment as out of the box I don’t think these are great for the PC, you need to do some tweaks with the Synapse software which I’ll cover.
Quick review:
Once everything is set up I think they sound good, they’re not audiophile level headphones and you wouldn’t expect them to be for the money. Game support is good, pretty much every game I have which was released in the past 5 years seems to have a custom profile for it or at the very least THX support (Cyberpunk).
Soundstage is pretty decent which certainly helps hearing footsteps in games like Call of Duty and you can detect them better than decent headphones alone. They do a good job of separating sounds is how I would describe it.
The mic is good (once you’ve set it up), my voice sounds clear and the Synapse software does let you tweak things to kill background noise etc.
The bad:
The cable is too short. It’s the minimum you could get away it, it’s a lot shorter than their mice cables as an example. The USB sound card only has a couple inches on it. You don’t need to be able to touch the sound card or anything but I would recommend getting an extension for the USB side of things (if using on a PC), you could extend the 3.5mm cable but make sure you get a 4 pole one, a standard 3.5mm cable will not carry the mic signal. There’s also lots of reviews of these cables harming the audio quality and mic issues – I think you’re safer to extend the USB and have the sound card on your desk somewhere. If you sit next to your tower and intend to plug this into a front panel, you’ll probably be fine so I would try without an extension first – but if you know this will be an issue, have it in mind and maybe purchase an extension with them.
Out of the box they sound a bit crap, the mic is also terrible until you set it up correctly and then it’s absolutely fine.
Mic:
The mic is incredibly sensitive – which I do like that they essentially give you the device raw rather than ship it restricted – but I think the software could have a better ‘fit all’ setup.
In the Synapse software under Mic, you’ll want to enable the ‘Voice gate’. It’s a slider from high, medium and low. Medium is the absolute minimum you can get away with, I recommend low (0). This will cut out a lot of sounds which aren’t your voice. Without this you’ll hear lip smacking, breathing and even my Razer mouse clicking was being picked up…
From there I basically have everything enabled for the mic, play around with it – I’ve included a screenshot. I also like the mic is detachable – I believe on the cheaper X version it’s not.
Sound:
I’ve included the settings I use, if you don’t like as much bass then dial that back but I found the default settings were too flat and not as enjoyable.
Comfort:
These are comfy and light, I’d say they’re about the same weight as my Sennheiser HD600, and I wear them for hours. The pads are really soft, they’re not going to get sweaty and they’re really easy to adjust. I’ve seen some complaints about this but hasn’t been a problem for me. I don’t wear glasses but for this review I tested with some sunglasses and they didn’t apply annoying pressure.
Overall:
Once you’ve got these settings applied I found I got really good performance and no complaints hearing me over discord. I also like the hardware buttons, a volume control and a mic mute – push it in and you’re muted.
Setup was easy, if you don’t have anything Razer you’ll plug the USB sound card in and it’ll install Synapse – no faffing about downloading software etc. If you already have Synapse (I do for a mouse), it prompt me to install an update and that was it. I now could click the device and control everything.
