I recently tried the RE-GEN Bamboo Cotton Buds as a more sustainable alternative to plastic cotton buds, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with them. It feels good to make a small change that helps reduce plastic waste, and these buds seem like a solid eco-friendly option.

The pack comes with 400 buds, conveniently separated into four boxes of 100, which is both practical and offers good value for money at less than 1p per bud. The buds are not as soft as those from well-known brands, but I didn’t experience any issues with them. The cotton tips stayed intact during use, and I didn’t encounter any sticks with missing cotton buds, unlike what another reviewer mentioned. Perhaps I was fortunate, or maybe it’s the norm.

These buds are effective for their intended purposes, whether it’s ear cleaning or other personal care tasks.

Overall, they do the job well, and I appreciate the sustainable design. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly alternative that still delivers on performance, these are worth considering.

Lets face it, we all use these to give the ears a clean. Johnsons was always the top brand but they changed the stems to make them more eco friendly and now they are awful, they just bend in half at the slightest pressure. These have wooden stems so whatever you use them for they are not going to bend, and unlike cheaper ones the cotton stays firmly in place and does not dislodge from the stick. These are the best cotton buds I have ever used

This is a pack of 400 bamboo cotton buds. They come in 4 boxes of 100.

The quality of the cotton buds is good. They are easy to hold and the cotton bud ends are good.

The cotton buds are slightly shorter than normal plastic ones but not by much. It isn’t enough to cause any problems.

The current price is 4.79. There are other sellers on Amazon that are currently selling 400 bamboo cotton buds for 2.99. That’s more cost-effective than these.

This is a more sustainable alternative to plastic cotton buds. You get 400 buds so it is also a good value option. These buds are a little harder and rougher than my usual buds, so I wouldn’t use them for children. However, they do seem more effective at getting wax out of your ears. There is a bit of a quality control issue with these buds as you get the occasional stick with no cotton ends.

I’ve been trying to cut back on single-use plastic where an alternative is available. I’ve previously used cotton buds with paper sticks but these have often proved to not be up to the job.

These cotton buds, with their bamboo stick, are much better. The cotton tip is very soft and smooth with sufficient cotton to ensure these can be used around the eyes and other delicate body parts. The packaging is also plastic-free, making these much better for the environment than cheaper supermarket/chemist cotton buds.

Great value as you get loads for your money. The only issue is a lot of the cotton ends are not attached to the stick, so they’re not that durable.

I’m so glad to have found a replacement for the cotton buds with plastic sticks, because the paper ones just bend when you try and use them with any vigour, especially if they get wet. I’ve been keeping hold of a stash of plastic ones to use with alcohol for cleaning things, but they can be replaced with these now.

Also, the actual bud is better than most.

Also also they’re cheaper than brand-name paper ones!

I tried bamboo cotton buds a few years ago and found the stems brittle and that, as a result, around 50% snapped during use. These seem much better and either have slight flexibility in the stems or are much stronger as none have broken so far in use.

The boxes are fully packed to the extent it is tricky to replace the lid fully if you try to dispense from the pack. It is possible with patience, but I am storing mine in a bamboo lidded glass pot instead. It looks nice and is much easier to close.

You get 4x packs of 100 bamboo cotton buds. I like the fact that these are eco friendly and recyclable. The stem is flexible without feeling flimsy and the cotton top is well compressed. Good value for money.
