Amazing piece of ki
Really didn’t expect to much, especially for the price. Even though we got it for half price.
We bought it for our seasonal awning, and hang it from a roof pole. It does the job so well we don’t need to put the big electric fans on as much. Which is a bonus for cost cutting.
In fact we love it so much, we bought a 2nd one for in the van. Kerching!!!
Great rechargeable fa
Fab rechargeable fan for camping – we’ve been using it in our van in hot weather to help circulate air around the back where the dogs are when travelling in hot weather and it’s been really good.
Easy to charge up though it does take a fair while to get a full charge.
I also like that you can use this as an emergency power bank to charge your phone in your tent if needed!
Molto robusto e silenzioso
Lo sto utilizzando all’interno e in giardino.
E’ fatto bene, molto silenzioso, l’aria molto fresca e piacevole.
Il telecomando funziona bene, la batteria inclusa.
Sono rimasto soddisfatto da questo prodotto.
Utile anche come idea regalo.
Qualit prezzo giusta.
Consigliato.
Voto 10.
I do a lot of camping, but in summer, but also winter hot tenting and this fan is going to be great for both.
I already have a solar fan with 10,000 mah powerbank built in, but what sets this apart and in my honest option makes it better, is the versatility of the design.
Firstly my solar fan has no hanging points (this has two), so I have to set it on the ground with the solar panel open to allow some air to flow through it, but this means that it’s sucking dust up off the ground and blowing it into my face. I also can’t hang that one in my tent to move warmer air that has risen.
This has 2 hanging points… It has a looped carry handle on the top which I can easily attach a carabiner through, but it has a hook folded away at the bottom, so I can easily hook it onto the lamp hook on the centre pole of my Tipi. The angle of the fan head is fully adjustable and holds firm with some kind of ratchet, so I can hand it ‘upside down’ and have the lamps and fan pointing down to send the warm air that rises from from my wood stove back down to where I’m sleeping in winter OR I can tilt it upwards to draw the warm air up more quickly towards the vents at the top of my tent in summer to cool the area below. Both ways are going to be a winner.
Comparing the 2 fans, this ‘seems’ to have a slightly stronger, but quieter fan motor, but that might be because airflow on the solar fan is obstructed by the solar panel, so the motor might need to work harder to draw the air in through the back. However on full power the difference in sound is quite significant and on the lowest setting (which is what I’d probably use during the night) it’s barely a whisper.
The added bonus that this has is the remote control. If I do install it overhead, I don’t have to get out of bed to change fan speeds if I’m struggling to get to sleep because I’m too hot (or cold when hot-tenting), or if I need to put the light on.
Pros :
Quieter
Better air flow
2 ways to hang
Remote Control
Adjustable head
Oscilates
10,000 mah emergency power bank if the SHTF and your phone has died
Cons:
Not self charging
It does cost a couple of quid more than my solar fan at 33 but currently has a 15% voucher applicable discount. (My solar fan costs 30, but doesn’t oscillate, doesn’t hang, the panel obstructs the airflow, it’s louder and less efficient) Personally I would have thought this would be cheaper than the one that has the added cost of the solar panel, but I guess you’re paying extra for the Oscillation/Remote control features?
I like this fan and do recommend it, but it seems (without the voucher offer) a little overpriced and would expect it to be more in the 25-30 price bracket as it’s not self charging… Either that, or my solar fan with it’s solar panel and charge controller is a bargain at just 30.
The question you need to ask yourself is “What is more important? An Efficient, quite fan with flexible directions of airflow and a remote? Or one that has an inbuilt Solar Panel and can self charge?
I hope that this review helps you to choose the right tent fan for your personal needs.
