When successfully connected to the computer, the led light will light up. When the computer hooks up, the little LED light comes on, and it’s way less annoying than those blindingly bright ones.

As someone who spends a lot of time in virtual reality, I can say this cable is a game-changer for Meta Quest 3 users. I’ve tried a few other options, but none have matched the performance and reliability of this one.
Pros:
Reliable Charging While Playing: This cable does exactly what it promises—keeps your Quest 3 charged even during extended gaming sessions. No more interruptions just when things get exciting!
Generous Length: At 16 feet, the cable provides ample room to move around without feeling tethered too tightly. It’s long enough to give you freedom but not so long that it becomes a tripping hazard.
Durable Construction: The cable feels solid and well-made, with a thick coating that inspires confidence it’ll hold up over time. The 90-degree USB-C connector is a smart touch, preventing strain on the port and making the cable less intrusive during use.
Simple Setup: Plugging in is straightforward, and the connection is stable—no worries about random disconnects or lag.
Cons:
Slightly Bulky: The cable is on the thicker side, which might take some getting used to if you’re accustomed to lighter, more flexible cords. However, this seems to contribute to its durability, so it’s a trade-off I’m happy to make.
Overall, this cable is a must-have if you own a Meta Quest 3 and want to enjoy uninterrupted VR experiences. The combination of reliable charging and robust design makes it well worth the investment. Highly recommended!
An absolutly great, high quality cable to connect your VR headset to your PC.
I’ve used it to connect my Meta Quest 3 to my PC & not had any issues at all.
I love the addition of the charging port on the cable so I can charge my headset & use it at the same time.
You feel the quality of this well made cable.
This cable is pretty long which is obviously a bonus, although it is slightly on the chunky side. It’s not a huge deal though. It keeps the headset fully charged while plugged in so allows for endless hours of use and fun. I would recommend this.
I used to use the official Oculus Link cable and it worked incredibly well, but with the downside that it could only provide a small amount of power to the Quest – not enough to keep it charged, only just enough to slow the drain rate.
This cable solves that issue by using USB PD to keep add full charging wattage to the cable from an alternate power source, power which your PC’s ports aren’t able to provide alone. This means you can play as long as you like, without worry about battery drain!
I definitely think it’s better suited for seated VR games, since you’re now basically dealing with two cable connection points instead of just one, though the power connection point is close to the PC connection end, so it’s not too much of an issue overall.
If you’re a VR gamer you’ll know that sometimes, VR time can creep a little and get away from you. If you’re PC VR gamer on air link you’ll have probably been additionally frustrated by the lack of battery time.
Fear not young VR explorer! The answer is here. A PCVR link cable for your Quest headset appears in front of you.
Plug it in to your PC and the headset, and you can supply additional power to help the signal strength and hopefully keep your headset running for much longer. You’ll see about a 10th of the power being used over what you would normally see from being on battery alone, so your game play time is going to be massively improved. It not made infinitely longer.
But the quality of video is so much better, gone are the dropped frames and stuttering, no encoded video means you’re now playing in FULL PC quality on the headset.
Cable is flexible and is long enough that it’s not a problem gaming next to the PC, seated or standing.
I picked this cable up to use when seated next to my PC playing SteamVR games as using AirLink for this flattens the battery pretty quickly.
The length is perfect to go from a floor mounted PC straight to the headset and allow freedom of movement while also providing a fast low latency link. The speed test comes out at 2.9Gbps which is about as fast as you can get with a quest 2.
The charging port is close to the PC end which is ideal and it does work too keep the headset charged while playing which is the main use case for this cable.
The cord is a little bit chunky, but if you clip it to the head strap it’s not heavy enough to be noticeable. It’s probably not long enough for room scale VR but if you want to play PC VR or SIM racing, this is perfect.
Overall I’m really happy with this link cable.
I ordered this for my partner, this is his review:
The cable works well with my Quest 2 and the original charger. I can’t comment on the connection speed as my GPU is currently covering my motherboard’s USB3 header so I’m limited to USB2 speeds when using the cable. With that said, the cable did keep my headset charged while I was using it, both with the USB-A connection plugged into my PC and while using the Quest in Air Link mode.
The cable is quite thick and heavy and the single supplied velcro cable tie isn’t really the right size to hold the cable securely against the Quest’s ‘ears’ (and the supplied cable tie is on the wrong side of the power block at the other end of the cable). Without some strain relief at the headset connection I was worried that the stress on the Quest2’s charging socket would eventually damage it, so I used a couple of my own velcro cable wraps to secure it in place against the headset ears and to the strap at the back of my head.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the cable, I just wish that a couple of cable wraps were also included and for that reason I’m scoring it at 4 stars.
This is a simple idea which works well, providing a fast charge/higher wattage boost to the VR headset input to give you longer game time.
The cable is very sturdy so I’d be concerned that that weight is going to put twisting pressure on the USBC port on the headset which, long term, isn’t a good thing. I think they should finesse this a bit by providing a little velcro strap a few inches from the end to wrap around the headset band, and possibly a clip about 18″ lower to go on your clothing; that would also prevent your ripping the connector out of the headset and damaging the port if you forget about it.
Outside VR use this cable can also of course used as a normal USB cable. However, I noticed that it choked the power to my Samsung A52, keeping it at below 5W whereas my normal charger cable (using the same power supply) delivers around 8W (checked using a pass-through USB tester meter). This may be a limitation of the chip design for the Meta Quest headset; I don’t honestly know.
Having recently got around to building a new PC that’s capable of handling VR games, I have just started to mess around with my son’s Quest 3. I’ve been using the wireless link option which has worked surprisingly well, but I have found that the battery dies very quickly — you are just getting into things, when it’s time to stop and charge the headset, so I thought I’d try out a link cable.
This particular cable from Syntech has a really nice length to it at 16 feet (4.8M). It has a PVC coating which feels nice and sturdy and should provide a decent amount of protection when connected to your headset and you are moving around.
On one end you have a USB-A connector that you attach to a USB 3.1 or 3.0 port on your computer, whilst the opposite end is fitted with a 90 degree USB-C connector that plugs in to your headset.
Unlike a regular USB A to C cable, this one is also fitted with a small rectangular box that contains some electronic components that allow you to actually charge the headset whilst you are playing. This is accomplished by connecting your headsets mains adapter to the small boxes USB-C input.

***** Conclusion *****
I have only been using this product for a short amount of time, but have been really pleased with it’s performance and unlike the wireless link I have been using where the battery drains really quickly, when using this cable I am able to play continuously.
The cable and connectors all have a really decent, high quality and solid feeling to them and I like that Syntech thought about the type C connector and fitted a 90 degree version, so that when connected to the Quest 3, the cable runs towards the back of the headset and can be attached to the strap to help keep it out of the way.
I think the 24.99 asking price is very reasonable given the quality of the product and definitely worth the extra over a standard cable that does not offer the charging function that this one has.
