Timex have been a good mid priced brand since I was a kid. No complaints on the quality of this watch. The LED backlight is searchlight powerful. That could be a little softer as it will wake you up if you consult it in the wee small hours! The leather strap is a different matter. The inner core appears to be a composite material which on initial inspection looks like a soft leather. Sadly, after a few weeks cracks appear, trapping dirt and debris, which eventually irritate the wrist. I’ve swapped it for a woven ‘Sniperbay’ strap which can be scrubbed clean when it gets dirty.
