This lock indicates that it is suitable ‘for all easy to use vehicles’ not that I know what one of those is. However, I got this for use in a Diahatsu Sirion and it fits perfectly through the steering wheel and into the seat belt locking mechanism without the need to adjust the seat to engage it. As far as I am concerned that is a real plus as who wants to have to set their seat position up again each time you want to drive the vehicle? It comes with 3 keys to operate the lock. This is so simple to use that my partner installed it in her vehicle all by herself. The steering wheel lock consists of a loop of covered wire and a locking part. The looped end goes around the steering wheel and the locking part gets passed through the loop. Then the locking part is pushed into the seat belt locking mechanism and you are done. Disengaging the lock is easy once you get the hang of it. You need to push the key into the lock and then twist it and push it down. Firstly the pushing down will bring the raised key part level with the locking mechanism. You need to keep pushing so that the key part goes into the mechanism as that is what pushes the button on the seat belt holder to release the lock from the seat belt. You then do the reverse of the installation by passing the locking bit back through the loop that you made in the first place, and the steering wheel lock is removed.
A simple and basic theft deterrent to attach to your steering wheel and seat belt catch.
The concept is good and because of its high visibility when fitted it may be an effective way to deter casual thieves.
The construction I would describe as medium weight and without substantial cutting equipment or tools it would not be a quick job to remove it.
Fitted in seconds, it certainly gives a bit more peace of mind when parking in risky areas.
No visible security standards marked on the device or packaging.
For the price it is definitely worth consideration.
