We got this fully expecting to use it to put a TV up in the bedroom. With not much room and solid brick walls, we wanted to put it in front of the window and move it up out of the way when not in use. It can work like this, but you need to be aware of a few things.

Firstly, this thing with the TV is going to be heavy. You can put the parts up on their own and the TV on afterwards but try to get someone to help you. Then, it’s a pain to push up as it’s bolted.

Secondly, you need to make sure that the location you’re installing it in has a joist/beam that’ll support it. This can be a bit hit and miss, highly recommend that you just decide where you want to install it. Put a small hole into the ceiling and then add a brace block securing it from above in the loft/attic. While you’re there, run a power and video/HDMI etc that you need to it, and then you can bring it down behind the TV without having wires dangling. We were lucky enough to already have power in the loft space so it’s something to think about. Our TV has Android TV has Freesat built in so pushed some coax out of the eves and run it to the LMB on the satellite.

Now, the thing doesn’t easily tilt up. It’s got bolts in to hold it place. You can swap these out with a slip bolt and you can get it to go all the way up but just be mindful that the mounting plat at the top isn’t very big, and the tilt there is really only meant to mount the TV vertically.

In the end we moved it to the corner of the room and just remounted everything as intended.
Don’t get me wrong on this review, the mount is really strong and if used as intended it is still great. Having it hide the wires without having to dig into walls is a nice bonus though. Our walls are solid brick so it’s very time consuming and dusty to put new AV and power behind a regular TV mount.
