ZOSI Indoor WiFi Camera,1080P Home Mini CCTV Dome Camera
ZOSI Indoor WiFi Camera,1080P Home Mini CCTV Dome Camera, House Security Camera for Elder/Baby/Dog/Pet Monitor with App, Day and Night Video, Alexa enabled, Human/Motion Detection, 2 Way Audio
A good performing camera, this easy to set up and link to an app camera has performed well and has done its job. Small enough to be placed on a shelf and adjusted to get the right angle. I like that you can talk through the app. Handy when away from the home.
This camera comes in basic packaging that indicates it’s a generic product. It is not going to impress anyone as a present/gift based on its brandname. However, it does a decent job of protecting the contents, which is what matters the most.
Here are my main Likes and Dislikes for this device:
Like:
Video is reasonably clear and detailed at max setting
Good night-vision
Human-Mption Detection systems work well
Quite a lot of features on a relatively small unit
Useful field of view
Dislike:
Very low price
Not great build quality
App is a bit quirky, not exactly intuitive
Accessing and reviewing video is a bit slow and sometimes freezes for a while
Firstly, this is really an app-controlled device so you need to be okay with using a smartphone. This is one of the modern style of cheap(ish) wireless security cams. It seems to be only available in white, although the face is black.
This ‘surveillance cam’ is an offshoot of webcam technology, and produces images of that quality. You aren’t going to get even 1080p broadcast quality out if this, not even close, nor should you expect it at this price. The video and images are average for a cam like this, but are certainly up to the job of home security.
The ‘AI’ motion detection is actually quite good and does tend to focus on humans rather than bird shadows or leaves in the wind. Large objects like cars will also trigger it however, so you should angle it away from the road unless you want it being activated every minute or so. The live picture is stable and detailed enough to recognise people easily. Even in low light the shutter-speed is high enough to stop motion blur and give clear faces.
There is a 2-way voice option which I think is mostly used for talking to pets. I suppose you could frighten a criminal in the middle of the night. The stated use is for talking to guests at the door, but I don’t know anyone who would actually use it for that.
The app is generally decent although the layout could be a lot more intuitive, it has its quirks for sure. The alerts will grab your attention, which is good to see.
This is currently selling for the very low price of 20, with a voucher giving a 5 discount, so 15 overall. This is ridiculously cheap for a camera like this
I will say that overall this is very much an entry-level security camera, suitable for indoor use only. More of a ‘starter’ kit more than anything, keep it dry and you may get a year out of it, long enough to know if you want to buy a ‘proper’ security camera system.
Overall I still give it five stars, but only if you can get it for 15.
I have many of these ip cameras and this is average in features but good enough to satisfy its main purposes. The software is clean with nice pinch zooming ability and SD card playback recordings which can be set to continous. I have a 128gb card which is the maximum the camera can take and it works well.
It is also Alixa enabled.
But it is not Google Home listed. It is also lacking movement detection in specified areas as a feature. There is also no Onvif compatibility so that it can be used with other camera security software.
The device itself is manoeuvrable but unlike similar cameras, it restricts its movement due to the USB cable underneath. This is a very poor position for the USB-C socket. However, a way around increasing the tilt range will be to replace the cable with a right angle USB-C plug so that it does not clash with the base.
But a good decent budget IP camera, overall.
Easy to connect to app. I use ZOSI for home security so familiar with the app and set-up. Fix point camera. I use it as a pet cam to keep an eye on my cats while I am out and to check they aren’t behind the front door when I come home as they are indoor cats. Great budget security camera.
The camera’s small, sleek design fits discreetly anywhere in my home. The two-way audio is great for communicating with visitors or warning intruders. The 1080P video is clear day and night with a long night vision range. I love the instant motion detection alerts and the customizable detection areas to reduce false alarms.
The Zosi Smart App provides convenient remote access and multiple storage options. Lightweight and packed with features, this camera is a must-have for home security. Highly recommend it!
Decent enough little camera for the money.
It’s a simple fixed-position type, no remote pan or tilt with this one. Setup it pretty straight forward if you’ve done this before, but ‘can’ be a little frustrating for anyone new to doing this. The first thing is to download/install/register for a Zosi account. I can say that I’ve already done this, having been using Zosi equipment for a few years now, including a hard-wired CCTV network through a Zosi DVR.
The company has been around for some time now which is reassuring, since many budget cameras have very short-lived app/hardware support, so what initially looked like a bargain camera can soon become a useless brick.
Performance is what you’d expect from the specs of this camera, and for general monitoring it’s absolutely fine. It’s certainly better than a few I’ve tried recently, not so much from an image point of view, but simply the functionality/reliability.
There’s a generous discount available at time of writing, which does make it seriously worth considering IMO. If you’re on a tight budget, I would certainly be looking at this as opposed to a non-branded/no-name alternative. Also, get yourself a decent MicroSD card (a ‘high endurance’ type is best for 24/7 recording), and you then won’t have to worry about extra expense subscription wise.
On a quality/value-for-money basis… 5-Stars (while on offer).
Very easy installation. The app is easy to install and understand. The connection through wifi was quick. The picture quality is excellent. Mic works perfect and clear. The day and night vision both clear and good quality. Recording feature works perfect. Overall great quality camera. Recommended.
A perfectly good WiFi camera that I am using to look out of the front for security reasons. Unfortunately this won’t be able to go outdoors and the IR camera reflects against the glass but the image during the day is fine and, if anything, will serve as a deterrent for any would be thieves in the area.
The image quality is good, the IR works well and the 2-way audio is clean and clear. The app works well and motion detection was easy to set, so certainly a nice basic set-up. The most important thing is to keep an eye on the app to see how it fares with time and whether the company updates regularly, as the hardware will only be as good as its software support.
I am taking into account the price point for this cam when rating this.
The cost of these things have come down enormously since I bought my first security cam years ago. You get the functionality I had with that for a fraction of the price.
Now will this match up to the expensive cams on the market for features? Not really
But if you are after a basic device that will let you keep an eye on a room with pets/babies etc then this should be fine.
You get decent resolution for both day and night time viewing via the 2.4Ghz wifi and it does connect to my Alexa too.
This isn’t super expensive and for the price you get a pretty good camera with a lot of features. It’s not going to break any records but its more than enough for keeping a general eye on things. You do need to use a specific app which is worth knowing if you have security concerns about who may have access to camera and what it sees.
Overall though. Its a nice little camera. Keep it on a seperate network to anything sensitive and obviously don’t point it at something you don’t want others to potentially see and you will be fine 😉
+ small and light
+ different mounting options
+ good video quality in well lit room
+ simple but useful design
+ microSD slot
– no microSD card in the bundle
– video quality is worse in worse lit room/environme
This security camera works great for me. First of all, the video quality is clear and crisp. The clarity of the footage, both day and night, is impressive. Whether I’m monitoring my home during the day or checking in on my crazy cat at night, the camera provides clear and detailed video, giving me peace of mind.
The setup is quick and easy. The app is user-friendly, and with just a few simple steps I had the camera up and running in no time.
My favourite feature is the motion detector. The camera accurately detects movement and sends alerts to my phone.
The compact and sleek design of the camera allows it to blend in nicely with my home decor. It’s small enough to be unobtrusive but powerful enough to cover a wide area. Plus, it can be placed anywhere, from a bookshelf to a corner of the room.
Overall, I’m really happy with this WiFi Camera. It offers excellent video quality, reliable motion detection, and convenient features like two-way audio and Alexa integration. If you’re looking for a versatile and effective home security solution, I highly recommend giving this camera a try. It’s a fantastic addition to any home security setup!
I recently set up an indoor WiFi camera with 1080P resolution in my home. Setting up the camera was surprisingly straightforward. I simply connected it to my WiFi network and followed the app’s instructions. Within minutes, I had it up and running, ready to monitor my home.
The 1080P resolution ensures that I get clear, detailed video footage. Whether it’s daytime or night, the camera captures everything with sharp clarity, so I never miss a thing. It’s reassuring to see such clear images, especially when checking in remotely.
With its wide-angle lens, the camera covers a large area of the room. This eliminates blind spots and gives me a comprehensive view of what’s happening. I can monitor my living room or kitchen effectively from a single camera location.
I love the two-way audio feature, which allows me to hear what’s happening and communicate through the camera using my phone. It’s perfect for checking in on pets or even chatting with family members when I’m not physically there.
This setup has truly made a difference in how I manage home security and stay connected to what matters most, all with ease and convenience.
I got this as there are times when our dogs need to be left at home, and this is exactly what we needed for piece of mind.
Easy to set up (including the app, although you do have to register) you have so many options when it comes to how you want it to perform. It also has night vision which means we don’t need to leave a light on to be able to see what is going on.
The picture quality is extremely good and the picture doesn’t break up either. It works like a charm and even though it works on wifi it also works over mobile signal which means we can also keep an eye when we are not at home (we can even speak to our dogs if we wanted to, although I could see this being very confusing to them!
Super happy with this camera, it’s small enough that it doesn’t get in the way but has a big enough camera that we can see the whole room.
Great value, highly recommended.
