I’ve always hated the charging arrangement for my Apple Pencil – you need the fiddly little easy-to-mislay lightning adaptor PLUS a lightning cable.
This lead has a lightning socket on one end and a USB-C on the other, which I just plug into a USB-C multicharger. Or a power pack if I’m away from mains power.
Pencil shows up as charging in the iPad.
Haven’t tried the pairing via USB-C as my out-of-date [grrr!!!] iPad has a lightning connector. But as the pencil is already paired, I don’t need to.
I love my Apple Pencil, and although it doesn’t take long to charge through the iPad, I don’t like the awkward way it sticks out from the iPad, and I unfortunately lost the lightning cable adapter a few months after I started using it.
So having a cable which I can use to charge my pencil quickly is ideal.
The charge works just as quick (if not, maybe even a little quicker) than when charging through my iPad, and It eliminates the awkward sticking out and risk of damaging the lighting port or connector, so I am very happy with the cable.
Ordered this as I have an Apple Pencil Gen 1 and like most people have lost that annoying little (but required) adapter to charge it up… Yes you can plug it into your Ipad to charge it, but that isn’t ideal or often convenient. This cable solves that, with the adapter end built into the cable end. The item arrived well packaged in a ziplock bag.
Upon opening, the pencil started charging instantly once plugged into the cable. Cable is well made with the connectors robustly molded and a decent cable length. Price break is good and I feel better than that stupid Apple connector that is easily misplaced. Highly recommended.
