This keyboard has some decent weight to it that prevents it from sliding around on the table while typing. The mechanical sound produced while typing adds to the delightful experience. The arrangement of letters and numbers on the side of the keys gives the keyboard a sleek and sophisticated appearance.

The first thing you discover when unboxing this item is that has a good weighty feel to it.

The keys have a great tactility and are responsive.

The keyboard can connect to 2.4GHz signal via the dongle, through a permanent wired connection with the supplied cables or Bluetooth which is useful if you want to use it to connect to your tablet or phone. Selection of connection mode is via a switch on the back.

RGB backlight can be offputting in most modes as the keyboard either has a sequencing illumination or you have a choice of unlit until you strike a key or permanently backlit. My version has a permanent red backlit option which, whilst I like, I think extended use might lead to some headaches. It would be nice to have another colour permanent backlight option to select.

The keyboard is rechargeable but here comes the slightly confusing bit. You have two cables. One has a USB A on one end and a male aviation connector on the other – this is the straight cable. The other has a USB C connection on one end and a female aviation connection on the other This is the coiled cable. In order to charge from a USB device you either need to get your own USB cable or connect these two cables together.

Other than stating that you need to fully charge the device when you receive it the instructions don’t make clear when you need to recharge the device. I have noticed in my lighting mode the ESC key flashing which I assume is it requesting recharge. When you are recharging the ESC key will go solid red for a short period before the keyboard reverts to the lighting mode selected.

The size of the main keyboard area isn’t far different to a full size keyboard although you do lose the calculator pad and the directional arrows, page up/dn etc all get squeezed into the right side of the board.

Tapping sound from the keyboard is noisier than many but not to the point of being annoying.

The only annoying thing for me is that the Shift Number Functions are labelled per US keyboard and so don’t behave as you expect them to. 3 is marked as a hash but produces a , 2 is marked as an at sign but produces ” all of this is fine but it does mean you have to instinctively know where these items are on your standard UK keyboard.

The price at review is now 63.99 which puts it at the high end of budget mechanical keyboards but I think this works well enough to be around that price point.

I love this keyboard! It has the feel and look of an old-school keyboard which I like and I especially love how the key presses feel in comparison to a “usual” keyboard. It’s not noisy to type on and responsive.
There’s anti slip pads on the base, plus legs for height.
A mechanical keyboard, to me, gives a much more satisfying feel when typing, but this “old-school” look is only one respect, as the functionality is modern.
There are 3 ways of connecting this: wireless, Bluetooth and wired – all of which work well and are easy to switch between.
There’s a coiled USB-C cable with a second extension connector for wired connection, a switch on the back of the keyboard for Bluetooth and a quick press wireless connector button.

There are several spare keys included, as well as a key puller, which is great and this keyboard can be used for PC or Mac (switch on the back to switch between the two).
There are built-in RGB lights which provide backlit colour, which you can adjust and change, (there’s a knob on the top of the keyboard: press for lights and turn for volume control).

Being smaller than many keyboards, this takes up less desk room, without compromising on functionality.
    Very well made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old-school charm with modern functionality

This AJAZZ x ATTACK SHARK X85 Gasket Mechanical Keyboard is a beautiful upgrade for a computer system. This is the version with the “pro” coiled keyboard wire. The keys have a great feel and have the unusual feature of the key markings being on the front face of each key, and illuminated. This gives the whole unit an ethereal beauty which is even more exaggerated when in a dark room.

The feel and sound of the keys is so much more interesting than the dull, soft keyboards I have been used to for many years.

Connectivity is brilliant – not only is it both windows and mac compatible (via a switch), but it can be wired or bluetooth or 2.4GHz connected (via the included USB dongle). The cable for wired connection is in two parts, one coiled and one straight.

I’m not convinced this is suitable for work, as for me the lack of a numeric keypad is a sacrifice too far…but for a games or internet machine this is fantastic.

I really like this keyboard and will really enjoy using it on my internet pc. If I find one with the numeric keypad, I’ll even consider getting that for my work pc to brighten up my workstation.

The price at the time of reviewing is around 55 which seems great value for such a high quality item with all the connectivity options you can imagine. Its a definite five star rating for me.

Got this to replace my old keyboard as the enter key was starting to stick.

This keyboard is a thing of beauty. The first thing that is striking as soon as you get it out of the box is the slight colour change on the keys and. The lack of letter printing on the top! This is because the letters are printed on the side. I’ll come back to this later. Looking at the keyboard like this, is really is a lovely looking thing.

Also in the box is a custom curly connection cable, a key puller and 2 spare key mechanisms. These are useful if you have a key fail and want to swap them. The cable is a 2 piece that you can join together to keep the keyboard powered at all times and to connect it to the computer, or to charge it if you’re planning on using Wi-Fi/Bluetooth.

On the back of the keyboard are a multitude of options to be able to connect it to your computer. You can use the cable or select between Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. If you don’t have Bluetooth in your machine then there’s an included dongle in the back of the keyboard. There’s even a switch to swap between keyboard and Mac mode!

Using the keyboard itself is a joy. The keys are easy to press and make an extremely satisfying sound when pressed. They’re extremely responsive and I’ve had no issues typing at all. There are a multitude of RGB options that can be changed with various key connotations listed in the instruction manual and the silver knob at the top right of the keyboard can be used to change the RGB lights too, or be used as a media volume controller which is a nice touch.

How easy is it to use a keyboard with no letters on the top? Well. If you’re a seasoned keyboard user then it’s not really a problem and you can always glance at the lower side of the key to see what the letter is. I really would have loved to have seen a key sticker pack included though so that if you do find it difficult, you’ve got the option of making the keys look like a standard keyboard. I’ve been using computer keyboards for 40+ years and even I have had to stop occasionally to look at what key I’m pressing. It’s not a major issue, especially as the key can be seen on the lower side. It’s actually easier to see this when it’s dark and the keys are lit up. Ina brightly lit room, it’s not so obvious.

Overall, I’m happy with this keyboard. It’s a premium product with unique aesthetics and that is its USP. The quality and feel of the keys is superb and the RGB functions are wide and varied. (See video). You may hit the wrong key every now and then or stumble for the delete/backspace and have to double check which is which, but the idea behind this keyboard is that it is sleek, unique and superb to use for a confident keyboard user.

4.0 out of 5 stars Top notch keyboard

This keyboard was a joy to unbox. As someone new to mechanical keyboards I might not be very knowledgeable about the specifics, but I know if I like how a keyboard feels/looks/types and I love this keyboard.

Presented very nicely it comes with a bunch of accessories, including extra keycaps, 2.4Gz adapter, keycap puller, USB C to USB A coiled cabled and built-in Bluetooth support. The mechanical keyboard is easy to set-up and includes a guide for button controls to change settings [no downloads needed]. Lots of different RGB options or white light/no lights if you prefer that.

The keys are lovely to type on and have a squishy/jelly quality and makes a soft noise. The keys are easy to press and responsive and good for touch typists or people learning to. The key printing is bold and easy to read. The colours are lovely and perfect for pastels. The keycap puller isn’t the easiest to use and the spacebar gave me some trouble [ended up removing the key above each end]. With the extra keycaps you can create a unique look. I plan to customize this keyboard even more and will be perfect for a themed PC set-up. 59.99 with a 9 off [50.99] at time review I think this is a great first mechanical keyboard or if you are looking for this design. An affordable way to get into the mechanical keyboard hobby or a once off for a PC build.
