This product is great for removing dust, crumbs, lint and any other small debris that accumulates in hard to reach crevices in the car, on keyboards or remote controls, on the hobby/craft desk or anywhere really. Unlike some other putty I’ve tried, this one doesn’t smell bad at all, and it easily takes up the shape of anything to reach the most hidden corners. It is not unpleasant to touch at all and it did a really decent job of transforming the interior of my car, especially the dashboard and the cup holder area. It grabs all the dust and small bits, and the putty itself looks a bit less pristine with every use, but I have been mopping up the mess after my workday lunch with it for weeks now, and it is still going strong. I believe there’s a still lot more use left in it, so it seems to be a very good value for money.
What I love most is that it’s reusable, so I’m not constantly buying new cleaning supplies. The blue colour is fun, and it doesn’t have any overpowering scents, which is a bonus. Plus, it’s not just for the car; I’ve started using it on my keyboard and remote controls too! If you’re looking for a quick and effective way to keep your space clean, I highly recommend this cleaning gel. It’s a must-have for anyone who loves a tidy ride!
I loved how simple, yet clever this gel putty is. It is strong enough to hold together and yet I found it can get into some of the most trickiest places. The gel putty is tacky, and so does not stick fast to things, but just seems to grab the dust and debris I am trying to get rid of. I then just wash it clean and I am ready to go again. Very happy with this wonderful gel putty.
This is my first time using this cleaning gel and I didn’t expect it to be really useful. It can be used to clean the water cup groove, air vents and dashboard inside the car, and anything with dust can be easily cleaned. It can be used repeatedly until the color turns dark or black, and then replaced with a new one. It has a wide range of applications, in addition to being used inside the car, it can also be used to clean any dusty area such as keyboards and window sills.
The pot of cleaning gel had a seal on it once the cap was unscrewed, which was not easy to remove, I needed to cut it out, its good that its there to keep the gel fresh, but it did seem exceptionally hard to remove. The gel was easy enough to pull out in one lump. I was surprised at how solid the gel was, but manipulating it with my hands made it more pliable. I used the gel to clean some of those hard-to-reach places in my car and I have to say it did quite a good job, picking up the dust, dirt etc. At the end you could see the dirt in/on the gel. I did think that it would be difficult to get it back into the tub as it was so full initially, but the gel had actually shrunk a little, so was easy to put back. At 7.99 (plus 20% off at time of review), I suppose it’s a fair price and of course you are not using any corrosive/harmful cleaning products.
This comes in a plastic jar that has a seal over the top to keep it fresh and extend shelf-life. Once you pop that seal you will get this lovely fresh smell, it’s kind of floral and fruity but it’s amazing. In fact after using this some time ago my hands still smell of it and it’s fantastic.
I tried this on two of the most hardest jobs – a keyboard and a car. These are dust collectors and with edges and shapes that make it hard to clean. First up my keyboard, which looks disgusting even though to the naked eye it’s not that bad honest! I squidged the blue gel into the face of the keys and it seemed to find it’s way in between the gaps getting fairly deep even if not right down the whole side of the keys. Pulling away slowly and it revealed clean keys. Yes there is still some dust but they really look great now even if the camera picks out some bits of dust. Because it is so quick and easy to use I will clean my keyboard more frequently and that in itself will likely mean the keys get better and better.
Next I tried it on my car which tends to just get a wipe over with a dust cloth but it never quite picks up dust between the buttons. In fact before using the blue gel I did give it a quick wipe over. And again it really managed to pick out hard to reach dust.
This is a great additional to your cleaning arsenal and I highly recommend it. Especially for that scent!
I first used this type of gel to clean my keyboards and car console 4 or 5 years ago and have used it ever since, mainly on my computer keyboards.
I prefer the ones like this that are in a jar rather than a resealable packet; they are easier to remove entirely.
Granted, it looks and feels like a weird way to do things, but it does clean dust and small granules from keyboards, peripheral devices, car consoles and other nooks and crannies.
It all comes out in one mass. Knead it a few times, and it’s ready to go. Simply roll it across the keyboard, pressing a little, especially between gaps. You may still need an airbrush for particles that have dropped deeper between the keys.
There is nothing to say that this substance is anti-bacterial, so I always finish by cleaning the item with a suitable wipe.
There is no mess as it does not stick to hands, or the smooth surfaces being cleaned, as long as it does not come into contact with water.
It has no discernible smell and has never caused any irritation to my skin.
When done, return it to the jar for next time. It can be used until the colour turns dark or it is too dirty. The previous ones that I purchased lasted months before starting to dry.
I have attached a short video to show you it in action. I know the keyboard wasn’t filthy, but at least it shows you how it can be rolled to pick up small particles. I am sorry the video finishes abruptly, I had to keep it shorter than two minutes.
I do believe that it has its uses, and I recommend that you try it.
