SUSTAINABLE BY NATURE.

We love our planet as much as you do. That’s why we design recyclability into all our products. We started recycling before the word was even invented, turning tins for condensed milk into new cups in the 1940’s. Today, our products help you do your part for the planet too. Like kitchen tools with double functions, waste bins designed for separating waste, drying racks and rotary dryers for natural drying, jars that prevent food waste and even smart ironing board covers for more effective ironing. On top of that, we support big and small initiatives that make the world more beautiful.

after 23 years the airer became wobbly because the socket had rusted away.
the new socket fits the old airer perfectly. Unless the ground is hard and dry, you can drive it into the ground. Cut into the ground with sharp spade, then i probed the target spot with a steel bar a couple of times until i missed the stones or was able to remove them. Once the route was clear enough, then insert the socket and drive it in with a lump hammer onto a piece of scrap timber, which was shattered by the time the socket was flat to the ground.
For someone else the installation was much harder. When the ground is too hard to dig, due to stones or concrete hardened clay, you need to buy a heavy lump hammer and steel spike and bash away, soak with water, until a hole is chiselled out of the ground, which is like a mining operation! Make sure you go deep enough for the socket – you won’t have time to deepen it once the concrete goes in. Fill hole with water and pour in 2 bags of postcrete, which sets really fast, so you need to get the socket in fast, immediately, put in the airer, again immediately, and get it plumb, hold for a few minutes and have a rest.

Last spike lasted almost 3 years split in half.these are easy to dig around to move and take out and move if in grass and airer starts to slant. Use piec3 wood over top of the spike to hammer in metal chunky mallet. Takes me a while replacing to a new one, being disabled to get it totally in the ground I have to take breaks. Takes me about 45 mins. You can buy one for concrete but I’d rather not fill my garden with concrete. I like this brand theircairers are good quality as are their ground spikes

Let me tell you, the Brabantia Metal Ground Spike is an absolute beast. It’s sturdy, well-made, and even comes with a handy closure cap that makes it lavish into the lawn but makes it easy to find again. Plus, it’s corrosion-resistant and galvanized, so you know it’s built to last through all the elements—rain, shine, or a full-on apocalypse.

Now, let’s get to the fun part: installing it. If you think you’re going to tap this bad boy into the ground with a few gentle taps of a mallet, think again. Try hammering it into a summer-baked rock-solid lawn, and you’re in for the kind of workout no gym can prepare you for. I’m pretty sure my neighbors thought I was reenacting some medieval jousting scene with how hard I was going at it. Sweat was flying, mallet in hand, and I might have considered renting a jackhammer at one point.

BUT once it’s in? This thing isn’t moving an inch. It’s like Excalibur, firmly lodged and ready to hold your washing line, parasol, or whatever else you throw at it. Once I finally got it into the ground, it was worth every drop of sweat. It’s now standing proud, and I feel like I’ve conquered something. **Great product**, but be prepared for a bit of a battle if your ground is as solid as mine. Just make sure to stretch first!

Had a bit of a struggle to get this into the lawn. I followed the instructions and managed to get it a quarter of the way down.
Purchased a mini 4lbs sledgehammer, and only got it a little further down. Stumped and about to give up, I checked the amazon reviews for any tips and discovered wetting the grown may help. So dumped a couple of gallons of water around the spike and left it overnight. Following day, gradually added a few more gallons and after soaking, finally got it level with the ground using some hefty blows with the sledgehammer. If only the instructions made the suggestion of wetting the ground. I recommend cutting away a small patch of grass if installing in a lawn. Hopefully will stay strong and anchor well for a long time.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLarger than I expected but appears well made. Not easy to install – you need the ground to be soft and a sledgehammer or mallet to drive it in. I don’t think a normal hammer would be enough. Use a block of wood on top of the spike to prevent damage from the sledgehammer. You also need to check it’s still vertical after each strike. But it’s worth taking a few minutes extra installing it because it fits my Brabantia washing line perfectly and holds it really well. I’d happily buy another.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe Brabantia Metal Ground Spike is a practical and well-designed solution for securely anchoring your rotary dryer without the hassle of concrete. This handy accessory is a must-have for anyone seeking a stable and reliable setup for their Lift-O-Matic Advance or SmartLift rotary dryers.

Crafted from durable and corrosion-resistant galvanized steel, this ground spike is built to withstand the elements and provide long-lasting support for your dryer. No more worries about your dryer toppling over or becoming unstable, even in windy conditions.

One of the standout features of this product is its hassle-free installation. Unlike concrete anchors, the Brabantia Metal Ground Spike requires no messy mixing or lengthy curing times. Simply drive it into the ground, and you’re ready to go! This makes it an excellent choice for those who value convenience and want to avoid the hassle of working with concrete.

However, it’s worth noting that while the ground spike is designed for stability, its effectiveness may vary depending on the soil conditions and the force of the wind. In extremely loose or sandy soils, or during severe weather events, additional anchoring measures may be necessary to ensure maximum security.

Additionally, the ground spike’s compatibility is limited to the Lift-O-Matic Advance and SmartLift rotary dryers with a 50 mm pole diameter. If you have a different model or brand of rotary dryer, you’ll need to double-check the compatibility before purchasing.

Overall, the Brabantia Metal Ground Spike is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a reliable and convenient solution for anchoring their rotary dryer. With its durable construction, easy installation, and Brabantia’s 5-year guarantee and service, you can enjoy worry-free outdoor drying for years to come. Just remember to consider your specific soil conditions and dryer model for optimal performance.
