Very good quality L Bracket from CAMOLO made from very good materials and will last a long time if treated correctly.

I am very impressed with this L Bracket the quality has far exceeded my expectations for this price.

I was on the look out for a new L bracket and I have to admit until I came across this I did not realise foldable L Brackets was a thing so I had to give it a try. And as it is foldable it takes up less space in your bag, box, shelf or where ever you store it when not using YES I know it does not save a huge amount of space BUT every bit counts.

Very quick and easy to setup you just unfold it and it clicks in place, and putting away is just as easy just push the button with your thumb and fold up it does not get any more simpler than that.

The L Bracket feels very strong and durable which is exactly what you want, it is arca so will fit most it not all ball head mounts which I have been using this with so using it vertical or horizontal when your camera is attached to it is also quick and easy BUT obviously this will depend on the ball head mount you are attaching it to

Overall I am very happy with the L Bracket and I would recommend it.

Excellent, strong and sturdy camera bracket, which is compact and portable as it folds down for easy storage. Fits nicely onto my tripod and holds the camera securely in place. 21.88 at the time of review. Highly recommended.

I’ll start by saying that this fulfills the function of an L bracket. It does the job and does it just fine.

The build quality is decent (not what I’d call “premium” but very decent).

I suppose the real thing about this is when you’re actively using it on a camera you can fold it down and save space. In that regard it does do a good job of saving space. Whether you need that, only you can tell, since it does mean you’d have to take it off your camera to fold it.

If you regularly use an L bracket then take it off, this is a good way of minimising the storage space you’ll need. The shape, when folder, is also more conducive to being carried in a pocket or a bag.

Overall I think it’s a nice little bracket and it’s worth (just) 5 stars.

Really sturdy strong design that feels solid and well-made.
Holds the camera firmly in place either in landscape or portrait orientation. It also folds up neatly so you can stow it in your camera bag or with your tripod with minimum fuss.
However, to switch between horizonal and vertical views, you do need to remove the camera from the tripod and physically reattach it.
I would love to have seen a design that allow you to flip between the two orientations without having to unattach and reattach the camera.

The nice thing about a ball head on a tripod is that you can get your camera to point in virtually any direction and then secure it with the twist of one knob. However, if you want to go from panorama to portrait, you have to completely reposition the head again because once you losen that knob, all of your positioning is lost. With an L-Bracket, you get the initial position in the same way but if you decide to change from panorama to portrait or vice versa, all you do is losen the grip on the tripod head, slide out the L-Bracket, change the orientation and slide it in again. All of that aiming is kept and is not lost as you change the orientation of the camera as you can see in the photographs.
The problem with L-Brackets is that when you are not using them, they take up a lot of room in your bag and can damage other things in there. This CAMOLO DSLR foldable L-Bracket solves that by being hinged. To fold it up, you simply press a button which slides half of it across a little bit and it folds down to take up a configuration that is a little bit more two-dimensional.
This works fine but I found that sometimes, you can be pressing the button really hard and nothing moves – this is entirely down to holding onto the wrong part because the button is just joined onto one of the halves. This is a training issue to be aware of rather than something that is wrong with it.
This is well-made product that takes up a lot less room in your bag when it is collapsed down than conventional L-brackets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes up a lot less room in your bag when it is collapsed down than convensional L-brackets.

The foldable camera L bracket is extremely versatile and easy to use. It fits perfectly with my camera and allows for quick switching between vertical and horizontal shooting. The foldable design makes it compact and easy to carry. It’s sturdy and provides a stable base for my camera, which is great for both photography and video shooting. The multiple screw holes are useful for attaching various accessories.

    PROS
-a good bracket for travel: it folds and so is easier to store (though that is a lot of engineering just so you can make it slightly easier to store)
    -solid construction, nice machining
    -good lock, no movement
-fits all my arca-swiss tripod heads solidly
    -good value

    CONS
-doesn’t quite fit my smallest camera body (rather old Nikon D3100), and I know that it also doesn’t sit perfectly against the side of other more recent camera bodies. A heavy lens on these bodies is going to cause the camera to pivot against the longer side of the bracket

    NOTES
-folding mechanism is just to make it smaller for storage. That’s a lot of engineering just to save a little space in the camera bag
-would be nice if it could fold another 90 degrees so it’s flat (to get the side plate out of the way of where cables plug into the camera, when the camera is deployed in landscape position)

    MY STAR RATINGS:
    1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

Solidly made with a folding mechanism that snaps into place. Does what you would expect a standard L bracket to do, mount plates both sides and a 1/4 inch or 3/8th screw that can be converted on the abse. Arca style connectors – designed for a video pan head clearly.

The release button requires a little force to depress and you have to push the correct side but thats easily figured out. The question though, is why? The fold is only used for stowing and I never thought that stowing one of these was a problem. However if you must have one that folds, this will work well. I’m just not convinced of the need of it… but for 20 this is a robust and good quality universal L bracket that can be folded.

Some people seem to be under the illusion that this foldable bracket allows you to quickly switch between portrait and landscape – it doesn’t! The fold-flat feature is purely for storage.

The two Allen bolts that hold the mount to the hinge were very loose but there is no Allen key supplied with the bracket. It would be worth adding the correct Allen key to your travel kit.

The quick release button is quite hard to press in (so not that quick) but I think a tiny drop of lubrication might help.

The square mount does not quite fit on my tripod head (which does resemble an Arca mount) so you have to leave the tripod’s removable plate clamped in place and use the quarter-inch fixing screw through the Arca base plate. The problem is that the screw is too short and will only go in for about one turn; it is not secure enough to hold a camera, especially a heavy one. Although one could unscrew the three-eighth/quarter bush a little, this is easily fixed with a longer screw on the tripod which, annoyingly, would then be too long for the camera on its own. Inconvenient but not the fault of the bracket.

    I have a couple of Nikon bodies, a D800 and a Z6II, I have a L bracket for my D800 but not one for the Z6II yet.

This L brackets main selling point is that it can be folded, so that it reduces the size in your bag if you take it with you.

It’s well made and feels sturdy, with the release button mechanism feeling like it will stand up to use over time.

In practice, adding it to my Z6II was straightforward, you simply screw it to the bottom as you would any bracket. The screw head has a flathead screwdriver head, and a hand tightening foldable part.

On my Z6II, the L bracket is slightly too large for the short edge to sit right against the body, maybe by a few mm, as the slide hole on the bracket is not long enough , which could mean that the camera body slips slightly in use vertically.

On my D800 it fits better as it is a larger body, so just be aware of this.

Due to its universal fit nature, you will probably want to carry a flathead screwdriver with you to tighten the L bracket to your camera, as the hand tightening part may not allow you to tighten enough, and the camera body may sag.

I realise this L bracket is intended for universal application, but because of this it doesn’t always attach to your camera body in a way that will completely stop body movement when used vertically, so just be aware of this.

I’d probably say to try and find an L bracket specifically for your camera body, however if this isn’t possible then this is a good alternative, with the benefit of being foldable.

Overall I like this L bracket, it will be used on my Z6II even with the above issue as I will just remember to check the bracket is on securely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice travel friendly L bracket for most camera bodies
