I’ll keep this short and simple. This is one of the best keybaords I have ever had the pleasure of typing on. The ice vein switches are heavenly, and very satisfying to type on. Fairly heavy as well, at around 1kg. You may think this is light if you’re used to metal builds. For the price point I am blown away with how amazing this keyboard is. Came well packaged and includes a basic key/switch pulling tool, a single spare switch, and basic instructions.
Slight negatives are the build quality is still plastic, and there is some flex if you push down in the middle of the keyboard (but of course, that won’t happen with normal usage).
For the price, this is an outstanding keybaord. If there was a more premum metal version of this, I would happily pay double the price. For now, this keybaord has replaced my Glorious GMMK Pro, which goes to show how amazing it is. 5/5
Quick run down.
Switches: I’s using crescent switches which are linear and sound and feel amazing. 5/5
Modes: I’ve tried 2.4 GHZ and wireless which both work equally well. 4.9/5
Stabilisers: Sound and feel amazing, for out of the box lubricated they are incredible. 4.9/5
LEDs: They do look amazing, But they are North facing in 2024 for some reason. 5/5 looks, 3.5/5 practicality
Software: Lacklustre, but is easy to use for changing LED colours which is all I use it for. 3.8/5
Mod ability: It’s a very easy hot swap board but again be careful for the north facing LEDs or the board. In terms or taking it apart, its not impossible but you are likely going to scuff the case a bit in doing so. To be fair though, I dont see any reason to take it apart other than curiosity. 4.2/5
Volume wheel: It’s a volume wheel…. 4/5
Conclusion: For a sub 100 mechanical keyboard, It’s stock performance is superior to many I have tried before. Longevity is a bit of a mystery for me as of right now but there has been zero issues after 2 weeks so thats a good sign. If you have no interest in modifying your mechanical keyboard and want it to feel premium out of the box, absolutely go for it. If you are interest in modifying, there are some slightly cheaper keyboards out there that aren’t as great but are much easier to mod.
This was my first keyboard and I still love it and use it regularly. I actually bought two, one in black and one with the blue edge and green/blue keycaps. I chose the blue ice vein switches both times as they are super thocky and smooth. It is very easy to hotswap and whilst the software is not the best it does the basics. For a plastic board it is thocky and lovely to type on, the keycaps are really decent and the RGB is really bright despite being north facing. Highly recommend, especially if starting out!
What can i say. This is probably the best keyboard i have bought. It sounds and feels amazing and considering the price you won’t get much better in the budget section.
The sound is so satisfying and it feels so smooth. Solidly built and looks amazing. I could go on but….just buy it!
First and foremost, this keyboard perfectly meets my expectations. It strikes a balance between being compact yet functional on certain keys, avoiding for the constant use of the FUNCTION key for common keys, and it isn’t so large that it dominates the entire desk. Its aesthetic is stunning, making it an ideal choice for white or warm and cozy PC setups.
As a fan of minimalist keyboards, I initially chose a 60% model by Royal Kludge. While I was initially satisfied, I soon found myself missing the convenience of dedicated single F keys, Up and down arrows and a couple of other keys. Although they were accessible through the use of the FUNCTION key, this setup proved impractical for certain applications, such as FLIGHT SIMULATOR which i play a lot. This led me to upgrade to a 70% keyboard.
EPOMAKER had caught my eye for some time, not only due to their broad range of visually appealing products but also for the tactile feedback and distinctive “thock” sound they produce. This auditory and tactile experience is incredibly satisfying, making typing a delight and inspiring me to write this review.
This keyboard offers three modes: Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired. I already owned a USB-C coiled cable, so switching to this keyboard was seamless. Currently, I am using it wirelessly and have noticed no detectable latency. My wireless mouse complements this setup, maintaining a clean desk space since it’s also wireless. I have not yet tested the Bluetooth function, as my primary connections are through Wired and Wireless modes.
Upon unboxing, I was greeted with the keyboard, a keyboard protector and several accessories, including a USB-C cable and a keycap puller, which is useful for future keycap customization thanks to its hot-swappable feature.
I chose the ICY VEIN switches, and I cannot overstate how stylish, ergonomic, and aesthetically pleasing this keyboard is. I have not tested the RGB modes yet, as the default icy white color complements my setup perfectly and would be my preferred choice regardless. The 80% layout includes an additional rotary knob on the top right, allowing me to easily adjust my PC’s volume. This feature is a convenient addition, enhancing the overall user experience and adding to the keyboard’s attractive design.
I just love the creamy thocky sound from these keys. I went for the Ice Vein variant, which helps with this wonderful thock. What’s cool is there are 4 exrtra keys included which were the Reaper switches. These have a slightly clackier sound. It’s great that you can try and hear the difference for yourself.
The board is visually beautiful, has lovely weight. And the keys feel amazing. It’s a pleasure to use.
Ive gone from more expensive keyboards – Logitech G815 and Roccat Vulcan etc, but this blows them all out of the water.
I went for the Sea Salt Blue variant but the Light Blue is probably a better option as you can make out the key legends easier (as black font used).
I went with the Ice Vein varient considering I was seeking out a more creamy/thoccy tone as opposed to something that’s a little more clicky. I’ve got a slight sensitivity to higher pitched noise and despite the price being lower, it has performed remarkably well against my Razer Huntsman keyboard that has been serving me for the past year now.
Compared to my Huntsman, this keyboard is actually satisfying to type on, the actuation is consistent and it doesn’t take too much strength to fully register a keystroke. This important for someone like myself as I routinely do lots of writing. I also enjoy the feature to angle my keyboard with the built in stand, plus it has two separate modes depending on if you have a wristrest or not.
Considering the price, I am thoroughly impressed with the build quality of this keyboard. There’s a difference between cheap plastic that can easily cut your fingers as well as the more refined type and this is certainly that more refined type. Compared to my Huntsman, I am pleasantly surprised that the keycaps feel more premium considering I paid over half the price for this. Furthermore, this keyboard has some heft in it thanks to the gasket design, giving me lots of peace of mind regarding the durability of it!
The top feature for me for this keyboard is the flexibility. From a 2.4GHz universally compatible USB dongle that slots away into the keyboard itself, Bluetooth functionality or being able to simply plug and play with pretty much any hardware, the fact that I can simply unplug it from my desk and take it with me to college for my studies brings me an endless amount of joy. That and also its 75% profile ensures that the keyboard retains all important functionality without needing to sacrifice the convenience of shortcuts for a smaller profile. The volume knob and the mute feature that comes from it has also been vastly helpful and is even reprogrammable!
The RGB is a little underwhelming considering it doesn’t glow through the keycaps and can’t be customised with software to a signficiant degree, but I’m not really the type to care about RGB all too much; if you’re big into that then please bear this in mind!
I honestly don’t see why people spend an extortionate amount of money on “gaming” keyboards when this exists and harbours the most satisfying typing experience out of all the keyboards I’ve owned in the past, plus there isn’t any visible latency from what I can tell between gaming alongside writing with this thing. It’s mechanical, it’s satisfying, it’s built well and even includes some basic RGB, that’s all most people could ask for in a keyboard nowadays and it’s enough to satify my needs!
This keyboard is unbeatable for the price. Unbelievable. Feels incredible to use with the switches I have. I’ve tried all sorts of keyboards here on amazon and this feels the best to me. The size is perfect for my use case and you can tell the keyboard has high build quality just by touching it.
For gaming, I love to use it. The keys are incredibly responsive and feels great to use. You can also tilt the keyboard more towards you to give more options for each separate individual.
For general use like browsing the internet, you couldn’t get a better keyboard for the price. i have tried keyboards nearly double the price and they weren’t as good as this. They switches are clearly pre lubed and it’s easy to type fast without any strain.
The software isn’t even a must, for the RGB part, it has shortcuts to change the RGB. But with the software it makes it even easier.
Overall, if you want a keyboard that does everything for under 80. Try this one. Looks cool, feels amazing, and it’s relatively cheap. Not much more you could ask.
Overall
The keyboard is absolutely fantastic. It feels very premium and nice to touch, I really love the colour scheme and the typing experience is amazing – the individual key sounds are really satisfying. However, the keyboard lacks Linux support for the wireless connection (2.4GHz), but it is still possible to use in Bluetooth mode, hence the 4-star.
Still, it is well worth the money and I doubt you can find a better keyboard without spending at least twice as much.
Amazing keyboard, only a couple gripes that could easily be fixed. Sound clip at end 🙂
+ smooth switches and good sound dampening. great overall sound
+ bright rgb
+ multi-use media dial
+ bluetooth is low latency
+ sturdy build
+ extra switches included
+ moddable
– key caps are not see through on the letters
