Setting up the eufyCam 2C Pro is straightforward and integrating it into the eufy ecosystem is seamless. Although the interface could benefit from some improvements, it remains functional and user-friendly. The ability to expand storage with an upcoming USB dongle is a great feature. With a long battery life of up to 180 days on a single charge and easy installation, this security system earns a solid 4/5 stars from me
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.
I was particularly drawn to it, because I have been eager to move away from another brand I am using, due to their rising subscription fees – the Eufy ecosystem offers free-of-charge cloud storage, so I jumped at the chance to try the 2C set.
Every component in the set is of good quality, though I do have some reservations about the weatherproofing of the camera units, should they be used in combination with their solar panels. You do get a rubber stopper, which encases the otherwise-exposed connector, but, I would be concerned about it becoming lost, as it’s quite small. Regardless, the Eufy’s IP67 rating does give some confidence about how well it might fare against the elements.
Setting it all up was fairly straightforward, though I encountered a slight hiccup with one of the cameras – it initially appeared to have paired (and was sending ‘motion detected’ notifications to my phone), but was completely absent from my ‘device list’ in the Eufy app. Thankfully, a full device reset did the trick, and now it displays normally. Mounting it on an outside wall was similarly hassle-free – the included hardware was of good quality, and allowed the job to be completed in under 20 minutes (for one camera).
So far, I have been impressed by the overall performance of the set – the display picture is nice and clear, whether during the day, or at night (and, there is a ‘spotlight’ function, to give colour images at night, which is very handy), the streaming is responsive and stable, whilst the motion detection has just the right amount of sensitivity (pretty much in line with how I have set it in the app). The Homebase also has an excellent range – mine is situated at the opposite end of the house to where the cameras are placed (this was best for me, as that is where my router is located), but I am still able to connect whenever I like, and any notifications are received with very little delay.
In summary, it is a very good value set that I personally will continue to use.
It’s a nice quality camera. The solar panel works perfect and the best thing is that I don’t ever have to take it down to charge it. A complete solution with great features and image quality, very easy to install. The motion detector works great and the picture is clear even in the night time.
The image clarity is excellent, making it easy to identify details. The solar panel effectively keeps the cameras charged, ensuring continuous surveillance without frequent recharges. Night vision works well, providing clear images even in low light. Motion detection is prompt, sending alerts immediately when activity is detected. One area for improvement is the initial setup, which was a bit more complicated than expected and required some troubleshooting. Overall, it’s a solid choice for home security without monthly fees.
My home security has previously been handled by a combination of Ring and Blink cameras which, whilst perfectly acceptable indoors, have been somewhat lacklustre outdoors.
As I have recently upgraded my front of house security for a higher end camera and am already partly invested in the Eufy ecosystem I thought I would give these a go for the garage and am more than happy with the results..
My garage is approacehed via an alley at the heart of my home which isn’t overlooked so there is always the fear of intrusion as I keep my motorcycles in the garage.
Recently I found some damage to the bottom of the roller shutter on the outside and this wasn’t picked up by Blink so I have now installed both Eufy cameras, one either side of the shutter pointing at each end of the alley which gives me 100% coverage.
Installation was simple enough, particularly as I was already using the app and video quality is second to none.
As for batteries, the rear is in direct sunlight from sunrise till noon and this seems to be more than enough to keep the cameras working properly..
Whilst I always try to provide videos and photos with my listings, for privacy purposes I don’t do this where it involves exterior shots of my home.
The eufyCam 2C Pro 2-Cam Kit with Solar Panel is a stellar choice for anyone seeking reliable outdoor security without the hassle of monthly fees. Offering advanced features like 2K resolution, HomeKit compatibility, and IP67 weather resistance, it’s designed to deliver peace of mind with high-definition video quality and robust durability. The inclusion of a solar panel ensures continuous power supply, reducing the need for frequent battery changes and enhancing convenience.
This security kit excels in both day and night surveillance, thanks to its impressive color night vision capabilities, capturing vivid details even in low-light conditions. Setup is straightforward, and the wireless design facilitates flexible placement around your home. The eufy Security app provides intuitive control over camera settings, alerts, and video playback, enhancing usability.
Having used the eufyCam 2C Pro 2-Cam Kit myself, I can confidently recommend it. The cameras’ performance has been exceptional, delivering sharp and clear video footage that’s crucial for monitoring our property. The absence of monthly fees is a significant advantage, making it a cost-effective long-term investment. Overall, this kit offers comprehensive home security with reliable features and user-friendly operation, making it an excellent choice for enhancing your home’s safety and surveillance capabilities.
2/2
I only have Blink outdoor cameras to compare against, but these Eufy cameras are far superior in all departments.
The cameras and Homebase 2 are simple to set up and that was achieved in minutes. To be honest, I didn’t realise that I would need an Ethernet hub to attach the Homebase to, as my Linksys router only has one Ethernet port and that was being used with my VoIP phone. So there was a couple of days delay whilst waiting for the hub to arrive.
The quality of the images is outstanding – both day and night – and, yet again, that is in comparison with the Blink outdoor cameras.
The working range, again compared to the Blink system, is superior and extends about three metres more.
I find the Eufy app to be very friendly and a doddle to use, with the screens being clean and well laid-out.
Another BIG plus over Blink is that the Eufy cameras have built-in batteries as well as solar charging panels. Blink uses disposable batteries that are not cheap if using the recommended ones.
Field-of-view and motion detection are also superb.
The only downside… I have fallen in love with the Eufy system, so now the Blink video doorbell has to go as do the Blink cameras on the front of the house, but I have never been happy with them so no hardship there!!!
This kit is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a wire-free, solar-powered security system. It’s easy to set up,
captures clear resolution footage, and integrates with Apple HomeKit for easy control. The image quality is clear and detailed, making it easy to see what’s happening around my property. The colour night vision is a standout feature, providing clear images even in the dark. The cameras are wireless, which made the setup process quick and easy. The solar panels are a great addition, ensuring that the cameras stay powered without the need for frequent battery changes. The cameras are compatible with HomeKit, which integrates well with my smart home system. I can easily control and monitor the cameras using my iPhone. The base station stores footage locally, but the storage capacity isn’t huge.
