I got this to protect my very expensive lenses. Even though they are in a camera bag, it doesn’t stop things inside the bag rubbing against them, so I got this to give it added protection!

The cloth itself is made of a strange material, it’s soft but sticky at the same time. The cloth is super soft and I have found it works great as an absorbent cloth when out on a rainy shoot. It is also super sticky, so when you wrap the lens in it, it’s giving it a tight wrap which feels super protective. The cloth was easily able to hold my Sony A7IV and 24-70 using the stickiness of the fabric which is super impressive!

The design is also really cute, the colour is this deep forest green which looks really stylish. The design also looks great as the cameras are minimal.

Overall, for 15.99, this is a really cheap investment on protecting what are multiple thousands of pounds worth of lenses. Would 100 buy more for my other lenses. 5/5

I already have one of these, so was pleased to get another for a second lens. This one is large at 55x55cm. It sticks to itself so easy to wrap items up to keep things from getting damaged without the need for fastenings or for it to unravel itself. It is a rough microfibre cloth, hard to explain how it does what it does, but it just does it. I will also be using it to wrap electricals and plug adapters etc in luggage when we go away, this will be very useful for the task. It can be used as a cover while actually using the camera in dusty conditions and as a sling if you want to use it this way. Recommended, and I really like it.

I have not encountered this product until today and have been blown away by it!
This is a cloth wrap, sold as a camera wrap but can be used for other tasks.
It comes in a retail package, printed cardboard carton that is perfectly giftable.
It is a thick fleecy material which has a hint of Velcro’s almost magical qualities.
When it is folded over itself it holds itself in position, not as fiercely as Velcro but more than enough to stop it unfurling!
Why have I been blown away by it, well I love my digital SLR camera but if I want to take it out it means I normally have to have my camera bag to keep it and a load of unnecessary kit in.
Now with this wrap I can place the wrap on a flat surface, place my camera on the wrap, wrap it up and off I go. I can even leave the strap attached to the camera out so this looks like a bag!
Then when I need the camera I can remove this in seconds and clean the lens if needed at the same time!.
I thought this item was a good way to protect my different lenses but it is so much bigger and has thicker cushioning than I could have expected.
I am happy to trust it to store my camera in when on a day out where I dont need all the extra bits and bobs.
I wish I had understood how useful this would be because I would have chosen the darker colour and not the predominantly white one! Practical thing that I am!
This will hold and protect any small items that you treasure anything up to the size of a laptop!
I now want some smaller ones so I can place my spare lenses in them!

    Happy to help!

I’ve genuinely never come across a material like this before and after reading the description I wasn’t sure what to expect.

This isn’t a soft cloth; it’s like a slightly more abrasive microfibre. Having said that, my partner who has a phobia of microfibre (can’t bear touching the stuff) had no issue at all with this which was positive. It’s a slightly stiff cloth and it really does stick very well to itself. Choose the size you want fairly carefully as it’s quite bulky, but it is very light and doesn’t add much weight to your camera pack. It’s particularly good for wrapping lightly awkward shapes (I.e. a camera body with attached lens). It’s also very handy for cleaning off dust etc. I haven’t tried it for cleaning the lens itself and wouldn’t want to as the product description doesn’t state whether it’s safe to do this or not, and I’m a little wary given how it feels. Really handy addition to my camera kit. It feels very good quality. I also really loved the quirky printed design which is clear and bright and again good quality.

Microfibre cloths – we all know what those are. But what if I told you that a slightly rougher cloth could do so much more? You’d probably yawn and tell me you don’t care. But you’re wrong about that. What’s clever about this cloth is that it sticks to itself. And you’re still not interested? What’s wrong with you? Let me explain.

You can wrap things in this cloth and they’ll stay wrapped in the cloth with no knots, ties or anything. I was going to show you how I actually use this – to wrap my camera. But then I realised that it was going to be hard to take photos from the inside. So behold the majesty of a numeric keypad being wrapped in a clever cloth.

Do you see how I’ve wrapped it in a little envelope? Well that cloth has stuck to itself. That little envelope is completely secure. And it’s handy for cleaning purposes too. It’s ideal for cameras. Yes, I should have got my other camera to take pictures. Gah, you’re demanding.

But all joking aside, this is a very clever thing that you didn’t know you needed. When I showed this to my wife and let her play with it, she wanted one. In fact, she wanted more than one. When my neighbour saw it, he wanted one. Indeed, everyone who has seen it wants one. You can see in the listing various clever ways of using it, but you’ll come up with far more yourself. And you’ll wonder why anyone would use any other kind of cloth.

Such a simple concept, but so very useful and it works a treat.

Not something you’d really expect to get too excited about (a piece of cloth), but once you’ve wrapped up a few things with it, you appreciate how handy this will be.

It sticks surprisingly well, but not so much that it’s a pain to undo again. I’ve put mine to use straight away for wrapping around a camera gimble before it’s placed into a kit bag.

Really impressed with this stuff, and I’ll certainly be looking to get a couple more for other gear.

The only thing perhaps that may be a little off-putting is the price at the moment. Hopefully this will come down a bit once it’s established.

    On a quality/value-for-money basis… 4-Stars (5 with a discount).

These “Magic Wraps’ have really taken off in recent years, and its not difficult to see why, with pretty much and infinite number of ways to either fold, or hang the protective wrap, depending upon your ‘gear’ or requirements, its become almost an essential part of my camera bag.

Unless your at the professional end of the camera market, and have everything stored away in precision cut cases, its more than likely that like me, you tend to throw everything you need for a day out into backpack, this is where the magic wrap really comes into it own, providing a little extra protection against all those normal day to day knocks and scratches that you get from everyday use.

As others have stated, its almost like a combination of microfibre cloth and velcro, but its just so surprisingly strong and secure when stuck together.

I’m happy to say that machine washing the ‘wrap’ and hanging it out to dry, has no detrimental effect on the cloth or its ability to maintain a secure bond with itself.

I wouldn’t want to be without these now, they protect not only my DSLR camera, but also my iPad and external SSD when out and about.

My GCJUYA Protective Camera Wrap is a soft 55cm thick square piece of polyester fabric. The outside is printed with a photography motif; the inside is Gray. The Magic self-adhesive cloth is a Velcro like adhesion between the grey side, itself and the outside white wrap. If you fold it up like an envelope you will get a tidy little package. If you roll it like my photos, you will get more padding around your device. The bundle stays wrapped up nicely thanks to the adhesion; and it gives some nice padding around my camera. For photographers its ideal if it’s a day you don’t want to carry your camera bag with you. It gives some basic water and dust protection; but mainly protects it from other things in your bag (and knocking off your lens cap.)

I am a little worried about static build up when using the wrap; there are reports. I read online; as is often the case, that it is a low risk if you don’t take the lens off or open the body up and expose it to static;; and others worrying that it can damage your sensor.

This is quite remarkable stuff. I’ve used microfibre cloths before that appear to want to stick together; this takes it to a new level! it is like a very soft version of hook and loop (almost, not quite), I guess. But it IS very soft, so shouldn’t damage electronics or cameras. I opted for the the circuit board-style pattern, where the base colour is white. I kinda wish I’d chosen the green as it is darker. If this fabric had a downside, I’d say it would be that it is going to attract dust like a magnet. Depending on your environment, that won’t be an issue, but if you’re out and about taking photos in dusty or pollen filled locations, hmm. Of course, if it’s sticking to the fabric its not getting into the inner workings of your electronics (we hope). Overall, this is good material but the price point is also substantial. If were cheaper, I’d probably buy more. Four stars.
