HAFOKO OSMO Pocket 3 Magnetic Backpack Clip Mount 360°
HAFOKO OSMO Pocket 3 Magnetic Backpack Clip Mount 360° Rotation Shoulder Strap Holder compatible for DJI OSMO Pocket 3 Accessories/GoPro Hero 12/11/10/9/8/7/6/5/Insta 360 X4 X3 X2 X ONE RS R GO3
While the clip system doesn’t seem quite as good as some locking clips I’ve seen, it seems to grab well and hold onto most surfaces. It doesn’t have a huge expansion jaw, so don’t expect it to hold onto anything larger than a strap or small flat surface. The magnets seem strong enough to hold onto most surfaces although after trying to stick it to a pole, I’m not sure the fence picture with it on the pole is realistic. It has gotten stuck on a metal shelf, my car shades, failed attempt on the mirror post and clamped to a phone tripod. Looking forward to testing it backpacking…
I recently bought an Insta360 Go 3 camera mostly to wear when I’m out with my dogs (home or on road trips), and so I’ve been looking for mounting accessories to use, other than the stuff that came with the camera. I ordered this clip because one of the things I’d like to try is to clip the camera to a dog collar for dog POV videos. I also figured I might actually want to clip it to a backpack strap when we’re out on our little adventures across the country.
I have to say, I wasn’t sure quite what I was gonna get with this thing, but I am pleasantly surprised. The clip itself feels pretty heavy duty for a plastic clip. It’s grip is strong (I wouldn’t clip it to anything easily damaged, as it does have aggressive teeth to hang onto whatever you clip it to). The magnets in the back of the clip are also quite strong. I stuck my Go 3 (in the action pod) onto my fridge front to try to record one of my dog’s dinnertime antics in the kitchen. I then forgot about the camera and left it stuck to my fridge all night long. It did not budge at all.
The only downside I can really point out is the size — for me, with a Go 3 that I’m usually using just the tiny camera outside the action pod, the size of this clip is beyond overkill. But It’s just right (IMHO) for the camera + action pod being mounted together.
Of all the 3rd party accessories I have gotten for my Go 3, this is my personal favorite thus far. It’s big(ish), and strong. I have no fear of my camera falling to its death while mounted on this thing — I’m more afraid my dogs will eat the camera first. LOL
I’m using this with my pocket 3 and I feel it’s a bit too large, it sticks out quite a bit
I guess it has to be large to accommodate all the magnets
It was hard to get my pocket 3 in and out of the holder even when I released as much as I could with the screw
This made it a bit difficult to grab the pocket 3 body and yank it out, without putting too much pressure on the pocket 3 gimbal head
The clip is useful for quick on and off my backpack straps however, this also means someone could steal my pocket 3 rather quickly. I would harness the pocket 3 using the tether attachment
I also have a GoPro Hero 4 which works just as well
The OSMO Pocket 3 Magnetic Backpack Clip Mount is a versatile accessory that must be assembled but offers great flexibility once set up. It comes with GoPro-style attachments for a 1/4 inch connection, making it compatible with standard camera tripods, as well as a plastic mount that allows for the attachment of an Osmo Pocket.
The attachments sit on a ball head, which is connected to a strong clip. The clip includes magnets on one side, enabling you to easily secure your camera or device to a surface, such as a backpack strap, or attach it to a nearby metal surface. The ball head makes positioning and leveling your device simple, regardless of the angle or position of the surface it’s attached to.
While the quality of the components isn’t quite as high as some other accessories I own, the ease of use and compatibility with other accessories make this clip very useful. The versatility of being able to attach it to a variety of surfaces and adjust the angle easily makes it a solid option for capturing footage on the go.
You have a couple of options when mounting this, both of which install confidence.
First off are the jaws intended for holding onto a backpack strap, the spring pressure on these is incredibly strong and should be more than capable of holding;ding the device securely even with vigorous movement.
When not backpack mounted the base of the jaws is magnetised allowing attachment to any iron object to stand in as a tripod, this isn’t the strongest magnet I have experienced but given the weight of the Osmo it shouldn’t cause any issues.
I got this as a much needed addition to my Insta360 setup – nice strong clip for attaching to backpack/clothing and also a embedded magnet behind a non-slip silicone pad to attach to anything ferrous metal (refrigerator, car, garage door, lamp post, etc.). The clip is strong but not so strong that it becomes impossible to open for the average adult – same with the strength of the magnets. The clip has the standard sports camera connector for Insta360/GoPro plus there is a 1/4 inch tripod mount and a specific DJI mount. Really well made and reasonable price. Very happy.
