This iwiio hose adapter fitted my tap very well, and works exactly as I had hoped but there is a big risk of damaging your tap fitting and my husband has said that if I do then he’s not going to mend it.
1. Fitting to the tap. You have to have the right shape of tap to be able to use this fitting. Look at how it works. The tap end needs to be less than 26mm deep and 19mm wide (see photo).
2. Fitting to the hose. I tried to plug this into a standard hose connector and at first I though it wasn’t a very good fit but I have now discovered that I wasn’t pushing it in hard enough and it’s fine.
3. If you fix it to a large kitchen tap, you are creating a big lever so the weight of the hose or any force on it is going to put a strain on the joint between the tap and the sink, which is not good. If you don’t put some thought into preventing this, it won’t be long before your tap is broken.
I’m pleased that I have been able to set this up but need to be very careful with the tap.
