This K&F Concept 99Wh V-Mount battery has a TFT display, and without anything plugged in, pressing the activation switch on the left hand side gets it to display the current state of charge. If the battery is being used to power something, a table is displayed with the voltage and the power drain in watts, along with the current level of charge for each outlet.
On the back of the battery is the V-Mount itself along with the standard configuration for charging it up on V-Mount charger or fitting onto a dedicated holder on a camera rig. Oddly, the V-Mount is made from plastic whereas they are normally metal. In addition, there is a small lamp that you can turn on by holding down the power button on the side for a few seconds – switching it off is the same again. This gives you enough light in a place where there is no lighting to see what you are doing and can be very useful.
On the left is the aforementioned power switch which just switches on the display. On the right hand side is the D-Tap socket which you can use for lighting or anything else that takes power from the socket.
On the top are: one USB A; two USB C sockets which including super fast charging (100W); and, a 12V DC socket. The lid for the D-Tap socket comes out and is on a little rod – rotating this takes the cover out of the way. However, the top cover has a different join and it doesn’t let you move it as much and as a result, it gets in the way.
This V-Mount battery has a metal shell which makes it a bit tougher than the other batteries but it doesn’t necessarily make what is inside safer as a result.
V-Mount blocks are a useful standard form for photography and lighting and this one is no exception.

Very clearly for Professional use, and it would be overkill for all but the keenest amateurs. A serious amount of power with digital display and fast charging. Keenly priced too, given what it delivers.

    This battery super impressed me!
I am not a professional, but I do use my cam a lot, so it’s perfect as it’s fast charging!
The quality is superb, seems to be made to last for a very long time.
It’s has a screen to indicate how much power is left – very handy.
Plenty of outlet ports too, so any other devices can be charged too.
    I do recommend it.

I could honestly not be more impressed with this V-Mount battery from the always excellent K&F Concept (one of my favourite brands)

This is a beautiful looking V-Mount battery and whilst looks aren’t the most important thing here you have to admit this one is an absolute stunner.

As far as connectivity goes this one does the lot, from D-Tap, Barrel Output, USB and USB-C so you can get stuck in and get your devices powered up from one battery when shooting which is the absolute ideal scenario.

It feels extremely well built and will obviously last a lifetime. The layout is logical too which you can’t say the same about for other brands.

The connectivity is on the top of the V-Mount battery which makes connecting up whilst in the middle of a shoot extremely easy.

The digital screen though. That’s such a great addition and you can see the power draw as you’re going so you know when you need to recharge but with a battery with as much capacity and staying power as this one you should easily be able to go hours/full days depending on what you’re powering up.

I’m using mine with my Sony FX3, a monitor and other accessories that I have running into it. I’m not using the D-Tap as a simple USB-C connection is perfect for my needs anyway.

It has a 100W PD power output which is remarkable, and even has a tiny torchlight built into it on the back where the V-Mount connection is! That’s strangely a very very useful addition and I’ve already used it numerous times for helping see in challenging lighting conditions.

K&F Concept are now a premium brand in videography and photography and I’ve got to the stage where I trust their products implicitly before buying but it’s always good to get them in your hand, test and use them, and confirm it for yourself that they’ve done it yet again.

What a great solid, brilliant and almost futuristic V-Mount this is. I shouldn’t be this happy about just a battery but this one makes me smile a lot!

As far as VMount batteries go, I have a new winner for looks and function.

This is my fourth VMount battery and I am actually surprised by the little thoughts that have gone into the look and feel of it. From the fancy little animation of the LED screen, to the aluminium housing around the edges. This all screams of a premium product, which you do expect from K&F nowadays.

You get your regular outputs, USB, USB-C, DTap and a barrel output.

100W PD output is wonderful, normally these batteries will cap out at 65W.

I actually found the little torch light by mistake when I was playing with the power button. Just press and hold it and it’ll fire up. Absolutely required in a dark studio when clamping your battery to the mount.

I couldn’t live without V mount batteries these days, well I could but it would be much less pleasurable, and this example from K&F is up there with the best having a large capacity and a plethora of outputs.
Whilst my main use is to power cameras, monitors and studio lights – as seen here – via dummy batteries, this also makes an excellent emergency power bank and is capable of reviving everything up to and including a laptop.

I did receive this for free via the Amazon Vine program but will be ordering a second as I’m that impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars This could kickstart a dying planet!

    K&F Concept’s 99Wh V-Mount Battery with PD100W

The K&F Concept’s 99Wh V-mount battery is a versatile V-Mount battery with 6700mAh of capacity. It weights in just under 635grams. It’s a flexible battery offering charging dtap or usb-c charging. It takes advantage of high-power USB-C power sources, charging up at 16v/ 5a from my power bank for 80w of charging, from a wall socket the built-in screen suggested it was charging around 99w. Using USB-C it was charged in around 2 hours. This is a great advantage over older dtap only batteries — if you are around a high power dtap charger use it — but a good USB-C wall charger can potentially charge two batteries at once; and is much more compact than my dtap power brick. Using USB-C also needs less kit in my bag’ I always carry a few USB-C cables and most of my other kit charges up from usb-c too. K&F include a good 240w rated usb-c cable in the box.

Regardless of the charging source the screen shows a clear display of the state of the battery charge and lets you know which of the various outputs are discharging when its charged. When charging there is an accurate time estimate to charging being complete. When using a high-power source, the battery does get warm whilst charging.

Power output the flexibility continues; you can run use the vmount port and the BP ports will power your device happily. I have used it in a loop for the last few days running a large LED fill light for the last few days. The screen on the battery shows the drain as 70Watts (the panel of the light says it’s a 70w light, so the meter is accurate.) I found the VB99 lasted a little over 2 1/4 hours constant running on that light. The light runtime is on the higher end for my vmount– if you are shooting off grid this will keep a low power camera rig going for a long while.

If the battery is flat when you need it, you can use the light in an adhoc UPS mode charging and running at the same time; just make sure your input power is greater than the output. Running the light and charging from the same wall adaptor; it added an hour to the charge time which is a good compromise.

Besides the vmount port the battery gives you a 12-volt DC connector; a pair of USB-C’s and a usb-a. Total output is limited to 100watts. I could run the light and power a camera via a usb-c cable at the same time. The batteries usb sockets all sit behind a weather flap; that I found difficult to open with my trimmed nails.

When in use the screen is usually off; there is a button on the side that will let you check the status. You can long press that button to turn on a small light in the back of the battery which is useful for lining it up with a mount in low light; you do need to turn it off again — and the screen doesn’t warn you it’s on. It’s a great idea the UI should warn you it’s on; or it should power off when connected to a vmount.

The manual says the screen face is scratch resistant; time will tell on that. The surround of the battery is metal; which should help keep some heat down in charging; and especially surprising given the relatively low weight — it’s almost 150g lighter than my next lightest 99Wh vmount.
K&F have been on a roll with quality products recently; this vmount filter is another sign they are coming for the professional market.
