This is a quite compact sling bag and serves my purpose for a minimalist dslr camera sling. I am able to fit 2 (55-200mm & 50mm) lenses along with my canon dslr with 17-50 mm lens attached. Based on my initial impressions it has good mechanism to create partitions based on need. Will update this review based on usage.
Has only 2 pockets (one external and one internal) and no additional strapping mechanism to carry tripod hence reduced one star.
Will recommend as a good buy for 30-35, so lookout for the deals on either Amazon or on K&F’s website.
The quality of the bag is good, it was my mistake should have purchased a larger bag. Check that all the camera equipment you have will fit comfortably in the bag.
I thought this seemed like a nice smallish bag when I ordered it. However I can honestly say it is an great well thought out little bag.
This works extremely well for me. As well as my camera gear, Mirrorless camera and 4 lenses the top compartment is useful for carton drink, wipes etc.
This is a well designed, good quality bag.
Great little sling back if you’re only carrying a few camera items. Love the side access , direct access to the camera without having to open up the full bag. Now just need to find one that’s twice the size and can hold a laptop and more kit. Highly recommended for carrying a few items. 10 litres
I like this bag because,
1. It does not look like a camera bag.
2. It with hold my a7 iii with a short zoom and one or two additional short lenses.
3. The loops on the zips let you keep the zips closed/secure by using one or other of the access cover clips, the third photo.
4. The main strap is wide enough to spread the load. I have only really noticed the bag on my shoulder when I had 1/2 litre water bottle in the pouch on the side of the bag in addition to my camera kit.
5. I like the secondary strap that comes across your chest to keep the bag in place.
6. When you release the secondary strap you can rotate the bag to access your camera. If you want to swap lenes you will probably want to take the bag off.
What I’d change/add,
1. I’d like to see a secondary lock on the main stray clip, the second image, I believe that it would be all too easy for someone to release the clip and run off with the bag. I’d keep the clip because there are times when it is really handy to use the clip to take the bag off.
2. I have whipped the top handle because there is not a lot of it, and it can get uncomfortable if carrying the bag by the top handle for a long time.
3. Add a small zipped pocket in the secondary compartment in the top of the bag. There is a zipped pocket on the main flap, but it is directly adjacent to the camera LCD – I’d suggest that you don’t want anything in the pocket that could bounce off your camera LCD!
4. Maybe add a clip in the second pocket for attaching a small bunch of keys.
I have not had the bag out in the rain so I can’t comment on water resistance.
Only my security concerns stopped my from giving the product 5 stars.
I used this bag on an 11 mile hike yesterday, temp started at 12C and ended up around 18C, total elevation gain 250metres, carrying the below
Fujifilm X-T5
70-300mm lens (fitted to the camera, whilst in the bag)
16-80mm lens
2 x SD card and one battery in the black pocket on the flap of the pack
1 x small Joby Gorillapod in the top pocket
3 small snacks (small trail mix bags etc)
1 x 500ml bottle of water
1 x hat
Pro’s
1. The bag was comfortable to wear. I didn’t have back or shoulder ache when I got home, not really felt anything when I was out.
2. It’s easy to access. Just slide it around you, and the zips and pockets are exactly where you’d want them to be to extract the camera.
3. The bag sat against me, in such a way that part of it rested against the waistband of my trousers, and the rest of the pack leant slightly away from me, creating an airgap, so no obscenely sweaty back on this trip
4. It feels a little heavy at first, but soon enough, you forget about it.
5. It sticks with you. In that you can climb a stile, gate or fence, and it didn’t slide around me
6. The thinking behind the zips is clever. they all have loops that can meet in the same place on the bag, so if you are bothered about security of your camera, you can just put a small lock through the loops
Things i’d change
1. Add a small mesh pocket to the side you lift up to get the camera, just so I have a place to hide my lens cap whilst using the camera
2. The bottom does have padding, but it also seems quite thin. Maybe 5mm. I wouldn’t want to drop bag with the camera in it.
3. Whilst I complimented the comfort, the strap did get sweaty. There are packs out there with straps that are mostly mesh and wider to spread the load. Maybe that is a future option. Also, if the pack was to lay against my back, I wouldn’t be confident in its breathability. It’s just mesh and foam, not even an airchannel foam type system
4. Make the strap that goes under the right arm to keep it stable, adjustable in it’s placement
Conclusion
If you’re looking for an every day carry camera bag with a set up similar to mine, this is probably your best bet. You can use it for small hikes, but bear in mind, you can’t carry much more than what i stated.
Note – I can’t comment on its waterproofness
This was just what I was looking for. I used it to carry my heavy Canon 5DIV with a 24-105 lens while walking around 10 miles a day for a week. I already have a camera rucksack for longer trips but wanted this to wear front-facing for easy access to the camera so I wasn’t tempted to just use my phone for all photos! It was great and had space for my 16-35 and 1.4x teleconverter also in the main pocket and for the external flash and a phone gimbal (Insta360 Flow) in the other pocket with more space remaining. It definitely fulfilled its purpose. My only “complaint” is that it isn’t waterproof. On one day it rained for about 5 minutes and the papers, map etc that I had in the top pocket were quite wet when I checked them later (I assume through the zip). It isn’t the end of the world and now I will buy a small waterproof cover to carry just in case, but the listing does state that it is waterproof so it wasn’t unreasonable for me to assume that it would be.
This bag is of great quality. My intention for this bag was to carry my Drone and my SLR. I didn’t want a big bulky backpack but this was a great size.
It has a sling strap that makes the bag very accessible on the fly.
I hold my DJI mini pro 4, RC2 controller, three batteries and mirrorless camera and lens.
There is also room for my DJI osmo gimbal. In the top compartment I have filters, desktop tripod an charging wires.
It’s about 50% the size of a standard backpack. Perfect for travelling and not feeling like you are carrying the kitchen sink.
