I have two tripods that use Manfrotto quick release plates. This Neewer quick release plate is approximately five inches long and fits both of my Manfrotto style tripod heads. The plate attaches to your camera or camera cage with either a ” or a ” screw on the bottom of the Neewer plate. The longer length of this Neewer plate is helpful when balancing a camera with a long lens on a tripod head or a gimbal. The plate also includes a locking pin which is a great safety feature. Typical Neewer quality, and an easy recommendation.
I bought this plate because a late from a different country many is not a secure fit n the clamp of the Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 head. This one is a very secure fit.
Ordered this as a back up to keep in my camera bag. This holds my camera securely on the tripod and the quick release does work.
Glad to have it.
This long quick release plate fits my Manfrotto 502AH video head. The screws have a convenient d-ring design but can also be tightened with a hex or flathead screwdriver.
My only complaint is that the locating pin is placed closer to the edge than the original 502AH quick release plate. However, the locating pin can be removed if necessary.
The rubber pads have a textured surface for additional grip but could have been made out of a softer rubber. Otherwise, I think this makes a good backup or replacement for the 502AH video head.
The tripod plate that came with my fluid head is normal-ish length, I uploaded a photo comparing It to this Neewer plate. The problem I had was when I used a long lens, like my 70-200 GMII, and tried to balance that, the camera, and the monitor on the fluid head. It was always back heavy, specially if I used the 2x TC on that lens. This made it hard to tilt up and down smoothly.
With this Neewer 501PL plate, I’m able to shift the weight forward, or backward, by A LOT! I’ll never have balancing issues again. Very happy to have this solution.
The build of the plate is excellent. It has a pin, and 2 screws, 1 for 1/4 20, and the other for 3/16 16 so you can attach anything. It works with all my tripods, even my SmallRig fluid head which is kind of picky.
This plate works with my Manfrotto 500 head without any issues. It slides in smoothly, locks in place, and secures just like the original. I like that it includes 1/4 and 3/8 threaded options, both with flip-up thumbscrews. This plate has edges that are a little bit sharper than the original which is easy to tell when it is in-hand, but the functionality is identical.
I’ve been needing another mounting plate for my Manfrotto 502AH head. This mounting plate fits perfectly, and is even about 1″ longer than the one from Manfrotto. It has both ” and 3/8″ mounting screws for versatility.
The quality of the materials and the build are both excellent. Neewer didn’t let me down.
Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it for others? Yes, Neewer is usually high-quality and you can count on their products to be some of the best. This product ranks up there with the best.
