Really pleased with this – lot’s of power options, good display, responsive on and off, very fast to charge. It’s quickly become my favorite v-mount and very affordable compared to a lot of other options out there
I’ve been a loyal Neewer customer for years The battery itself seems to be a great addition to my videography business. However, the DTAP isn’t secure and very loose when fitted with a DTAP cable. I reached out to the seller. Had absolutely 0 response whatsoever. Therefore, had to contact Neewer directly, who then proceeded to tell me that they had on records the seller had offered a solution (Which they had not.) Eventually, Neewer has agreed to send me a replacement battery after a lengthy amount of email exchanges.

New battery finally arrived.
This is quite a feature packed Vmount battery, providing significant benefits to me when travelling.
I can:
Power my camera
Charge my phone
Power my laptop
…all from this single battery.
There’s a little OLED display giving facts about the power consumption per port. Quite a thoughtful addition, certainly something I didn’t know I needed but I do like having it.
Importantly for me, this is a 99Wh battery which means it can travel with me when I go overseas. This is the limit for basically all airlines due to IATA regulations.
This NEEWER battery is 6800mAh, every so slightly smaller than another battery I have which is 6900mAh, but that other battery costs more, so this battery right here is priced pretty much exactly as it should be.
I initially wrote a bad review for this unit as I had received a faulty copy but the company RUIHOTOR replaced the battery and the replacement has performed flawlessly. Recommended
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. Below is my own real-world experience of using it.
As I am an avid hobbyist birder and photographer, charging equipment is always handy to have. I was particularly drawn to the Neewer battery, due to the wide variety of options it provides.
Physically, it’s a solid, fairly heavyweight unit, that feels robust. It is also somewhat compact, so could potentially fit in to a larger camera/gear bag. The LCD screen on the front displays charging information for all of the ports, and that is clear and easy to read – information is given in real-time (as soon as you connect or disconnect a device).
Having had it for a few weeks now, I have used it in so many different scenarios, with lots of different devices and cables, and have had no problems charging anything at all. The battery has even lasted long enough for me to charge two or three different devices before it completely ran out. I have charged my phone, Nintendo Switch, headphones, and more.
One feature I have particularly found useful is the DC input – with the addition of a ‘dummy’ battery, I have been able to power my DSLR camera from the device. As I sometimes shoot continuous video, it is always a concern that a battery might run out, so, being able to connect to a larger power supply, whilst keeping the portability of the camera, is absolutely a benefit. Thus far, I have not had any compatibility issues.
Once the device had fully depleted, it took a few hours to recharge, which is to be expected, given the large capacity it holds. I also like that the USB-C port can be used both ways – charging itself, and as a power source for another device.
In summary, a really good value item, considering the current cost.
It charged up well and I really like the screen letting you keep track of the power and what’s taking power. Its also really handy to charge and doesn’t need a big expensive mount to put on my my rig.
However I noticed firstly mine doesn’t seem to hold as much charge as I would expect. I ran my camera for 15mins and had already burned through almost 10%. Following this I charged it up last night to 100 percent and placed it in my bag and somehow while not being used its started to lose charge. Its down to 96% without even being used. Which is a real bummer. As I am not sure whether this is normal or maybe i got one with some issues. But I don’t really have the time or ability to launch a return as I have back to back jobs coming up. And I need a battery. I can’t afford to buy another one at the moment and I can’t afford to not have a battery while going through the whole returns process. I hope it improves in the coming weeks. For now I might just have to save up and buy a small Rig v mount ASAP.
It’s a shame as if this could keep charge better it would be a really cool piece of kit for a really good price in comparison to its competitors.
Edit, I have changed my rating as seller got in contact with me regarding this sale and they have sent me a new battery free of charge. So great customer service, and if you end up with the same issue as me, you can be confident they will rectify it. I will update once more after I receive the new battery. And am able to see how well it works.
