This charging station is a convenient way to keep my Xbox controllers powered up. It’s a simple, no-fuss design that gets the job done. The controllers snap into place easily, and the charging indicator is helpful. It’s a good value for the price.
This is a practical and easy to use alternative to using 2xAA batteries in your XBox controller. Everything feels well made at this price point and I think the main controller stand looks good and also the brand name illuminates when in use.
The hardest part of setting this all up (which actually isn’t that hard), was actually putting in the included rechargeable battery into the back of my controller. You have to do it with the sticker facing down and not the other way round (which I think appears how it should be given the stickers on the battery).
However once the battery is in, the included charging backplate fits perfectly and when the included USB C cable is added to the docking station, it’s simply a case of placing your controller in the dock and away it charges.
This then is a much more practical way of gaming than using AA batteries, with less of the worry that I won’t have enough power to play.
My son is an avid gamer, so this is what he had to say about this Xbox One charger.
Pros: He has the PS5 dock charger to compliment the Xbox One – he likes the fact they look good sat side by side in his gaming set-up.
The unit charges as it should.
He likes the drop and charge aspect.
The LED in a solid state shows when the controller has a full charge.
Con’s: the charging dock feels cheap and plasticky.
The first thing to say is that it works ok with our Xbox S.
But, there is a slight problem with the battery supplied, in that it’s a really tight fit into the Xbox controller. It does fit, but it’s a very tight squeeze, and it’s more than a little worrying having to press so hard on the battery to force it home. It feels like something is going to break.
We also have another different make of Xbox charger, and that one has absolutely no problem with putting the battery into the compartment. On comparing the two batteries, the one supplied here has an extra protuberance at one end which fouls slightly on a part of the controller.
But, once the battery is pushed (forced) home, the unit does work ok and charges the Xbox. It’s also quite a nice looking charging unit, if that’s important.
Over time I have gone through so many different batteries and chargers for my Xbox controllers.
It’s my son, he keeps on snapping the cables of misplacing the batteries, now because of how this is, it’s so simple to use.
All he has to do is drop the pad into the charger when he has finished gaming and off it goes charging away.
One little downside to this is that, if is pad dies whilst he is playing, he either has to change the battery to a charged battery or drop it back in the cradle to charge back up again, I cannot see if the old play and charge lead will continue to charge it with this new battery in.
Other than that little issue, it is a well constructed piece of kit, It looks nice and is simple to use.
Overall very happy with this.
Got this for my daughter to charge her Xbox controller. You receive 1 charging unit, 1 charging cable. 1 rechargeable battery cell, 2 controller backs (1 for Xbox one and 1 for X/S) and instructions. Just make sure that you put the battery cell in correctly as i orginally thought it wouldnt fit but that was just my error. It was quick to charge and easy to install.
This is a solid charging solution for Xbox One and Series X|S controllers. Its fast charging capability is impressive, fully charging a controller in about 2.5-3 hours. This quick turnaround ensures you’re always ready for gaming sessions without long waits.
The charger’s design is sleek and stable, with a strong magnetic connection that securely holds the controller in place while charging. This feature reduces the risk of accidental disconnections and ensures consistent charging.
One of the standout aspects is its ease of use. Simply placing the controller on the dock initiates charging, eliminating the hassle of plugging in cables. The charger also doesn’t have any annoying lights, making it unobtrusive in your gaming setup.

First off, I must commend the sleek and compact design of this charger station. Its minimalistic look fits seamlessly into my gaming setup without taking up much space, a definite plus for those of us with cluttered gaming stations. The gleaming white finish gives it a premium feel, adding a touch of sophistication to my gaming area.
One of the standout features of this charger station is its fast charging capability. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly it charged my Xbox wireless controllers, allowing me to get back to my gaming session in no time.
The LED indicators are a handy addition, providing a visual cue as to the charging status of the controller. This feature is particularly useful for ensuring that I always have a fully charged controller at hand when I need it most.
In conclusion, the Solo Charger Station for Xbox Wireless Controllers by NEWDERY is a reliable and efficient charging solution that has earned its place in my gaming setup. Its fast charging capability, compact design, and overall convenience make it a standout accessory for any Xbox gamer looking to keep their controllers powered up and ready to go.
Inserting the battery is easy, but don’t do it like I did – I initially inserted the battery with the +/- contacts on the opposite side which may have slightly damaged my controller cosmetically. If I had taken just a few minutes to actually look at it, the rear of the battery has a very thin protruding line that perfectly lines up with the gap between the contacts in the controller! it seems completely opposite to what you’d expect but that’s how it’s supposed to be.
The battery case itself was a bit tricky to fit on (as I’m so used to just sliding the case on), but still took less than a few seconds to get it on.
It has plenty of juice in the battery out of the box so it’s ready to use immediately, but I’d advise to allow it to fully charge.
The dock looks pretty nice, although a fully black colour would fit in with the console better – not really an issue for me. It is glossy rather than matte if that matters.
The controller sits nice and flush in the dock and will adjust itself to fit in, like airpods in their case, so even a clumsy child can put the controller into the dock without worrying if it was put in there correctly to allow charging via the contacts on the back.
Battery life seems excellent so far.. so fingers crossed this lasts me longer than a month, unlike others I had tried many years ago on my Xbox 360!
